HYDERABAD: For the first time, representatives from a foreign country will participate in the Telangana Formation Day celebrations.
A Japanese delegation led by Kazuhisa Takeuchi, mayor of Kitakyushu City, has arrived in Hyderabad ahead of Monday's event. It may be recalled that during his recent visit to Japan, Revanth toured Kitakyushu and extended a formal invitation to the mayor to attend the celebrations.

Japan's Princess Kako receives medal in Brazil as she starts 11-day trip
SAO PAULO — Japan's Princess Kako of Akishino, a niece of Emperor Naruhito, received the highest order of Brazil's powerhouse state of Sao Paulo on Friday as she kicks off an 11-day trip to the South American nation. Her trip also marks the 130th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries. The younger daughter of Crown Prince Fumihito and Crown Princess Kiko arrived on Thursday in Sao Paulo. She held appointments with members of the Japanese community on Friday and finished her schedule at a dinner with Governor Tarcisio de Freitas at the state government palace. She was awarded the Order of the Ipiranga at a closed ceremony. Princess Kako will visit another seven cities, including Rio de Janeiro and capital Brasilia, where she is expected to meet President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. Speaking to de Freitas, she made reference to the first Japanese immigrants arriving in the city of Santos in 1908 after a gruesome trip through the seas. On the first day of her trip, she visited the memorial to pioneer Japanese immigrants at Sao Paulo's Ibirapuera Park. 'I felt that the immigrants made an enormous effort to adapt to Brazil, and still today are very active in different areas. The fact that Brazil sheltered the Japanese community made the connections between the two countries to become deeper,' the princess said. Today, Brazil has the largest population of people of Japanese descent in the world, estimated at about 2.7 million. About half of those live in Sao Paulo state, official figures show. Emperor Naruhito has no male children, which makes his brother Akishino, Princess Kako's father, the first successor in line. Japan's tradition does not allow women to take the throne. Princess Mako, who is Princess Kako's older sister, was the last member of Japan's imperial family to visit Brazil. She traveled to 13 cities of the South American nation in 2018.

Revanth dubs BRS ‘Devils Rajya Samithi', seeks 10-yr mandate for $1 tn T'gana
1 2 Hyderabad: In a scathing attack on BRS, chief minister A Revanth Reddy Friday dubbed the pink party as 'Devils Rajya Samithi (DRS),' mocking MLC K Kavitha's recent remarks about 'devils' harming her party from within. "Don't call it BRS anymore. Call it DRS," Revanth told a crowd at Alair in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district, where he laid foundation for over ₹1,050 crore worth of projects. "BRS leaders themselves admit KCR is surrounded by devils. Yet their leader is asleep in the farmhouse. Go to every village and tell people these devils have arrived when BRS leaders show up," the CM said, calling upon Congress cadres to brand their rivals as 'DRS' across Telangana . With an eye on long-term governance, Revanth urged people to give the Congress a 10-year mandate, promising to make Telangana a $1 trillion economy and transform Hyderabad into a city on a par with New York and Tokyo. "I have no personal ambitions left. Bringing down KCR was my goal. Now my only aim is to develop Telangana," he declared. Revanth slammed the BRS for targeting the Congress after the PC Ghose Commission summoned KCR in connection with the Kaleshwaram project probe. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Pinga-Pinga e HBP? Why this arrogance?" he asked. He accused the former CM of playing politics with the deity Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy. "They denied people their right to stay atop the hill and fulfil their vows. Sins follow you like shadows. Maybe that's why KCR was hospitalised with fractures," he said. The CM laid foundation stones for projects, including the ₹574 crore Gandhamalla reservoir, ₹200 crore Young India Residential School, ₹183 crore medical college building, bridges, godowns, and roads across Alair constituency. He also vowed to develop the area under the Yadagirigutta Temple Board, much like the TTD in Andhra Pradesh. Revanth said the Congress would complete all pending irrigation projects in the region, and rejuvenate the Musi river despite resistance. "If Sabarmati and Ganga can be cleaned, why not Musi?" he asked, targeting both BRS and BJP for opposing the project. 'Employees are with Cong' Countering BRS criticism over employee issues, Revanth said, "Ask over five lakh govt employees—are you not getting your salaries on the first of every month now?" He added, "If not, don't vote for Congress. But if you are, give us another term. We treat you like family." On the caste census, he credited Telangana's 42% BC reservation plan for compelling PM Modi to promise a national-wide caste survey. Sources said she informed him about the feedback from party leaders from almost all the parliamentary constituencies with whom she held meetings in the last 10 days. The one-on-one meeting lasted nearly an hour and triggered speculation in Congress circles about the possibility of early local body election. Sources told TOI that Meenakshi advised Revanth that the leadership should come out with a plan to improve coordination of ministers and elected representatives with the cadres. She said that she received numerous complaints of loyal workers being overlooked and sidelined by ministers, MPs, MLCs, and MLAs. She also brought to the notice of the CM the urgent need to bridge the gap between the Congress and turncoat (BRS) MLAs. The cabinet expansion was also reportedly discussed. Meenakshi told Revanth that the Congress elected representatives and cadres need training in social media and AI to effectively counter the opposition onslaught and take govt programmes to the voters. In a related development, TPCC president B Mahesh Kumar Goud told mediapersons at Gandhi Bhavan that the new team of TPCC will be announced this month. He also told Congress MLAs to improve their performance and coordination with party leaders and cadres so that Congress sweeps the local body elections. The TPCC chief also accused BJP MP Eatala Rajender of trying to protect KCR in the Kaleshwaram case. "Eatala seems to have struck a secret deal with KCR. Being in BJP, Eatala's heart is still with the BRS," he alleged. Get the latest lifestyle updates on Times of India, along with Eid wishes , messages , and quotes !
