'The Life of a Showgirl' has no merch yet. Swifties took matters into their own hands.
It only took a twenty-second video clip for Taylor Swift fans to start buying into the singer's 12th album. Swift announced the name of her newest album, "The Life of a Showgirl," in a teaser for an Aug. 13 episode of "New Heights," the podcast hosted by her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, and his brother, Jason Kelce. After the news broke, Swifties were quick to create their own merchandise, from friendship bracelets to crewnecks inspired by the album's name and color scheme. While Swift's store typically releases official merchandise, items for "The Life of a Showgirl" haven't been released yet, with the exception of a vinyl that's available to preorder. Here's a look at the fan-made merchandise available online. Swift's team files trademark applications for 'The Life of a Showgirl' TAS Rights Management, a company that manages Swift's intellectual property, filed trademark applications on Aug. 11 for phrases related to "The Life of a Showgirl." According to applications filed with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, the company is pending approval for trademarks of the term "The Life of a Showgirl" and the abbreviation "TLOAS." This could hint that merch is on its way — the applications cover the use of the terms for goods like jewelry, stationery, tops and more. While the trademarks are pending, if approved, they would limit the use of the album's name in fan-made merchandise. However, Swifties have still gotten creative with their nods to "The Life of a Showgirl." See 'Life of a Showgirl' merch created by Swifties Many showgirl-inspired merch items for sale include the orange and green color scheme that has quickly become synonymous with the album. A post shared by Beyond Epic Shop (@beyondepic_shop) Pink Dinosaur, an online and Kansas City-based boutique, launched preorders for a line of shirts featuring terms like "new era," "TS12" and "Taylor 12." A post shared by Pink Dinosaur (@shopthepinkdinosaur) Independent sellers on Etsy have also released items celebrating the album, from phone cases and shirts to friendship bracelets. According to Etsy's seller handbook, third-party sellers may be able to use designs and phrases inspired by items such as albums and celebrity names. However, if items infringe or violate existing trademarks, both the platform and intellectual property owners can push to take down the products. TheRomanticsCo, a Texas-based seller, rolled out a slew of showgirl shirts with phrases like "off duty showgirl," "showgirl era" and "showgirl life." 12 questions we want Jason, Travis Kelce to ask Taylor Swift on ‘New Heights' podcast
Taylor Swift joined 'New Heights,' her 'favorite podcast,' hosted by romantic partner and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and his brother, Jason Kelce, a retired offensive lineman who played the Philadelphia Eagles. While the show isn't a blueprint for journalism or a heavy-hitting program, Swift is nonetheless in the hot seat. Conversations will be had. Questions will be asked. Answers may be given. How much Swift reveals about her next studio album, 'The Life of a Showgirl,' remains to be seen. But she chose the brothers' show to announce it. The number of eyeballs and downloads the show will deliver could be record-setting. In honor of Swift's 12th album, here are 12 questions the Kelce brothers should ask Swift. Is there any part of you that still roots for the Eagles? As Jason Kelce noted in the introduction clip that made social-media rounds Wednesday, Swift is from Pennsylvania originally. Her previous Eagles fandom is well-documented. With the Eagles and Chiefs playing each other in two of the last three Super Bowls, it's worth asking. What was her reaction to being booed at the Super Bowl? In New Orleans in February, the Caesars Superdome jumbotron showed Swift in the first half. The boos came ferociously – on brand from the Eagles contingent. Sometimes, it's your own people who turn against you the most. Who's her favorite player on the Chiefs – not named Travis Kelce or Patrick Mahomes? The qualification of this question is key. Obviously No. 1 is 'Trav.' Mahomes is too easy of a copout. Make her go down the roster and reveal some of the knowledge she's picked up. How many songs on the new album are about Travis? 'So High School' alluded to the Chiefs tight end on her most recent album. But after a couple of years of worldwide and whirlwind romance, there has to be more, right? How many lyrics are about the Chiefs? Or football in general? And with that will certainly come some references to 'Chiefs Kingdom' or the gridiron, one would presume. Who was the best hang at the Super Bowl 58 after-party? Swift and Kelce were part of the Chiefs' crew that partied in Vegas after last year's Super Bowl win. Did anybody impress her with their dancing or partying ability? Are you engaged? Jason Kelce is not afraid to poke the bear. There has to be at least one question about whether the Travis Kelce-Swift relationship is taking the next step. Will she do Kylie Kelce's podcast next? Now that she's done one Kelce podcast, what's another one? Jason's wife, Kylie, is the host of "Not Gonna Lie." Who's the ideal crew to fill her suite at the game? Sophie Turner. Sabrina Carpenter. Ryan Reynolds. Ice Spice. Caitlin Clark. Donna Kelce (the Kelce brothers' mother). Brittany Mahomes. Swift has been joined by a number of friends and family at games. Is she the Chiefs' good-luck charm? The Chiefs are 19-4 with Swift in attendance at games. But 1-1 in Super Bowls. What has it been like getting to know the Kelce family? From the aforementioned Kylie and Jason, to Travis' parents Donna and Ed, gaining an understanding of how she vibes with her (potential) future in-laws would be insightful. Which artist have you not yet collaborated with that you would like to? Any reveals for the upcoming album? Let the hunt for "Easter Eggs" begin.

Taylor Swift Fuels Ariana Grande and Lady Gaga Album Theories With Sneaky Likes
THE RUNDOWN Taylor Swift continued her new The Life of a Showgirl era by dropping a few hints about the direction of her new album—and the two A-list singers who might be connected to the project. Swifties on X noticed that the singer liked a post from a fan who pointed out that Swift announced her album exactly 12 years to the day that Gaga released her song 'Applause' (on Aug. 12, 2013). E! noted the song was also part of Swift's intro playlist during her Eras Tour. Swift also liked a tweet about a possible collaboration with Ariana Grande. A Grande fan account tweeted in Portuguese, 'Everyone knows that there are two people in the world capable of breaking the internet with a feat,' alongside a photo of Grande and Swift. The post appears to have been deleted, but the user kept a screen recording confirming that Swift had liked it. Swift also liked tweets identifying Easter eggs for The Life of a Showgirl in her 'Anti-Hero' music video and 'Bejeweled' music videos: Of course, Swift has only begun to tease what's coming in her 12th album. She's expected to reveal much more later this evening during her appearance on boyfriend Travis Kelce's podcast, New Heights. The episode comes out at 7 P.M. ET.
