The 36-year-old - who is subject to an Interpol red notice - eventually travelled to Britain from France this year along with thousands of other migrants.
Ghazal was jailed last week jailed for nine months for attempting to arrive without valid entry clearance after being arrested by Border Force.
Government officials are facing a possible crisis ahead of his sentence expiring.
Ms Kanjo's dad Mohammed fears his daughter will never get justice if the alleged killer returns to Lebanon and is hopeful the British legal system can step up.

Ghazal was protected from extradition from Germany and Sweden under Human Rights laws by claiming he faced execution in his homeland, reports MailOnline.
There are fears Ghazal could do the same to remain in Britain.
Ms Kanjo, 33, was murdered in January 2021, having apparently got married just four months earlier.
Her death sparked a national debate in Lebanon about domestic abuse.
Ms Kanjo had filed domestic violence and fraud cases against her new husband and was trying to divorce him when she was killed, according to reports.
She had represented her country at a beauty contest in Egypt the previous year.

Ghazal allegedly fled to Turkey hours after his wife's death.
Lebanese channel Al Jadeed broadcast an audio recording in which he allegedly admitted to the murder.
Speaking to Ms Kanjo's sister, the person says: "I didn't want to, I didn't want her to die, when she was screaming, I just put my hand on her mouth."
Ghazal is understood to have travelled through Greece, the Netherlands and Luxembourg.
He was arrested in December 2022 in Stokholm under Interpol's red notice.
However, Swedish laws prevented him from being extradited back home where he said he faced execution, and when he was detained again in Germany, the same thing happened, according to Ms Kanjo's lawyer Ashraf Al-Moussawi.
Mr Al-Moussawi has pointed out Lebanon has not carried out an execution since 1994 and so this should not have been used as a defence.
He added the alleged killer then "wandered Europe until his recent arrest in England".
The lawyer has urged the British government to find a way to send Ghazal back to his homeland to face justice.
Ms Kanjo's dad Mohammed claims his daughter's husband had sneaked back into Lebanon to attend his cousin's wedding a year after his wife's death.
"After all this time, I'm left wondering if justice will ever be served," he told the Mail.
"It's like something is missing from your body, something that is not replaceable.
"I honestly hope he's not handed over to Lebanese authorities only to be imprisoned and then released again."
He added perhaps the UK legal system can "find a way to properly punish him".
Ghazal was detained by Border Force and jailed at Gloucester Crown Court last Wednesday after admitting to entering the country unlawfully.
A Government spokesman said: "The Home Office never comments on whether extradition requests have or have not been received, and it is also our longstanding policy not to comment on individual cases.
"However, we will always do everything in our power to remove serious foreign criminals from the UK so they are not left free on our streets after completing their sentence."
The Sun has approached the Home Office for further comment.

Last night was very upsetting, especially for the man who owns the ride. "Safety is our priority, and we sympathise with the girl and her parents." White Widow: NI-born terror suspect ‘becomes mum-of-six in polyamorous marriage with Islamic militant warlord'

Now believed to be in a polygamous marriage with Islamist commander Osman Abdullahi Dhaga'ade and his two other spouses, the Banbridge-born woman has reportedly given birth to two additional children, while evading capture as one of the world's most sought-after terror suspects. The 41-year-old was previously married to 7/7 London bomber Germaine Lindsay – who blew himself up on a London Underground train in July 2005 – and is thought to have had four children from two earlier marriages linked to extremist circles. Lewthwaite is accused of being involved in numerous terror attacks in Kenya, where she lived for a time after leaving the UK, and has been linked to as many as 400 deaths, also appearing on Interpol's 'most wanted' list. Sources reportedly told MailOnline the fugitive was last seen on July 8 in the southern city of Jilib – the de facto capital of the Islamic Emirate of Somalia, controlled by al-Shabaab. It's claimed Lewthwaite had also been spotted recently in other areas in the south with the family regularly switching locations for security reasons while protected by an elite squad of heavily armed bodyguards. Somali intelligence allegedly revealed that 'in 2023, she tried to leave Somalia to go to Yemen or Kenya, but al-Shabaab failed to find her a safe route, so had to stay in Somalia'. "The British woman helps recruit foreign fighters, especially women. She gets protection from her husband as he is high up in al-Shabaab. She speaks Somali and Arabic.' An al-Shabaab source said Lewthwaite was 'highly regarded and respected' within the terror group. He also told MailOnline: 'She lives in several houses located in different areas. She does not move during the day but only at night and is highly protected by heavily armed elite Amniyat close protection security guards, which also includes women guards. 'The white woman also always carries a pistol and sometimes a rifle for her protection. ''She does not stay in one location for long with her husband; they move around a lot." Lewthwaite was born and spent much of her childhood in Banbridge, before moving to Aylesbury and later converting to Islam. In Kenya, she is alleged to have posed as a Northern Irish charity worker to conceal her identity. She was reportedly using Italian documents and claimed she was working for a charity called Friends of Africa, based in Newry. The charity confirmed it had no knowledge of such a person. Her story is now being turned to film, with Lewthwaite set to be portrayed by Game of Thrones and The Last of Us star Bella Ramsey.

Newport thug pleads guilty to flashing and assaulting PCs

Thug Wesley Davies, 34, from Newport, who has 83 previous convictions for 164 offences, committed the offences after being released from prison for a serious assault. He was jailed for 13 months in May last year for splitting a nurse's head wide open with a single punch. Davies' latest offences were committed on July 11 and July 12 in Newport and Cwmbran. He admitted assaulting a police officer, exposure, assault by beating and damaging a Gwent Police vehicle. The defendant was remanded in custody at Newport Magistrates' Court and is due to be sentenced on July 30. Davies was locked up last year for attacking Kevin Randall. The victim had been out with family and friends watching the British and Irish Lions rugby Test match against South Africa. He punched the consultant emergency nurse outside the Esso petrol station on Cardiff's Newport Road at around 9pm on Saturday, July 31, 2021. An argument had broken out between the strangers after the groups Mr Randall and Davies were with had rowed over a taxi. Matthew Comer, prosecuting, said: 'The victim's head hit the floor and he was knocked unconscious.' CCTV footage capturing the assault was played to the judge, Recorder David Warner. He said to Davies: 'You joined in and took up a provocative position before I accept returning to the taxi. 'There's then a further exchange of words, we can see that between the female members of your group, and then you got back out of the taxi, went straight up to Mr Randall and punched him. 'You punched him so hard that he fell unconscious on the floor with the back of his head split wide open. 'The offence to which you have pleaded guilty is a cowardly and unpleasant one with significant consequences for your victim.' Mr Randall was taken to the University of Wales Hospital, Cardiff in an ambulance and 21 surgical staples were needed to close the deep wound. In a victim personal statement he revealed how he suffers from ongoing 'memory loss and psychological harm'. He was off work for four weeks as a result of his injury and had to miss a family holiday. 'I'm aware that the attack that night could easily have killed me,' Mr Randall said. Davies pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm. Assault occasioning actual bodily harm and possession of a machete in public are among his previous convictions. Joshua Scouller said in mitigation: 'He regrets enormously the injury that he caused. 'The defendant is a man who has had problems with alcohol and has sought to become sober.' His barrister added that the lengthy delay in the case coming to court was not the fault of his client and the prosecution could offer no explanation for the slow progress.
