Barbie Forteza says she'll ‘marry' David Licauco in 'Kiss, Marry Kill' game

Kiss, marry, kill David Licauco? Barbie Forteza said she is marrying him! The Kapuso Primetime Queen graced the latest episode of 'Kapuso Artistambayan' where she played the game 'Kiss, Marry, Kill.' Her choices? Three leading men she's worked with: JC Alcantara, Sam Concepcion, and David. According to Barbie, she would 'kill' JC, whom she acted with in her new horror movie 'P77" all because "masama siya sa akin sa 'P77.'" "Pero sa tunay na buhay, napakabait, napaka-professional, maaga sa set ganiyan atsaka very warm. He's a very warm guy,' Barbie said. Meanwhile, Barbie said she will kiss Sam, her co-star in 'Beauty Empire' because "he's such a fun guy to be around with, napakalively niya din. Ang dami niyang chika.' "Unang beses ko siyang nakatrabaho dito sa 'Beauty Empire' and I'd like to believe na naging close din talaga kami, magkasama kami niyan kagabi sa cast party ng 'Beauty Empire.'" Done taping for the show, Barbie hopes to get to work with Sam again. "Thank you, thank you so much for sharing your talent,' she said addressing the actor. Choosing David as the man she will marry, Barbie said 'out of everyone siya talaga 'yung matagal ko nang nakasama, matagal ko nang kilala, matagal ko nang katrabaho. Eh di ba when you marry someone kailangang kilalang-kilala mo di ba? At you accept all the perfections and imperfections of the person.' Barbie and David became a love team called BarDa when they starred together as Fidel and Klay in "Maria Clara at Ibarra." They later starred in several more projects, including "Maging Sino Ka Man," "Pulang Araw," and the film "That Kind of Love." David is set to make a special appearance in 'Beauty Empire.' Barbie stars in the new horror film 'P77,' whereas David is set to star in the upcoming series 'Never Say Die.' — Jade Veronique Yap/LA, GMA Integrated News

'Freakier Friday' and its quiet nod to Filipino culture

Warning: This story contains mild spoilers. Beyond its life lessons, standout performances, and nostalgic charm, "Freakier Friday" also offers a subtle touch of Filipino representation, making the film even more relatable to Pinoy audiences. To begin with, the sequel's leading man, Eric, is played by Filipino-Canadian rising star Manny Jacinto. Born to Filipino parents, Manny moved to Canada with his family at the age of three, and proudly represents his roots both on and off screen. Instead of simply letting Manny play a vaguely Asian character, "Freakier Friday" actually straightforwardly references Philippine elements. Manila mention Eric is a chef who moved from London to Los Angeles to open his restaurant, and while little is known about his background, it is implied that his character, much like his real life actor, is of Filipino descent. This is hinted at in a heartwarming scene where his parents meet Anna's family over a wedding luncheon. His mother, speaking with a distinct Filipino accent, mentions their long flight from Manila to Los Angeles. 'Mano po, Lola' The loudest declaration of the family's Filipino roots is the "mano po" scene. The traditional Filipino gesture of respect toward elders, where one takes the hand of an elder and gently presses it to their forehead while saying, 'Mano po,' was included in a scene where Tess (Jamie Lee Curtis), inhabited by Eric's teenage daughter Lily (Sophia Hammons), respectfully greets her grandparents with a heartfelt 'Mano po, Lola,' accompanied by a subtle bow. A sequel to the 2003 cult classic 'Freaky Friday,' the film also stars Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis. It is now showing in Philippine cinemas nationwide. On its premiere night, Manny made a stop in Manila and spoke with fans and the press. 'It feels like a dream. Honestly, I never would have thought that I'd be, you know, I was born here [Philippines] so like a local boy that gets to act opposite Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis is wild to me,' Manny said. —JCB, GMA Integrated News

Shaira Diaz, EA Guzman turn emotional in K-Drama-inspired prenup video

Shaira Diaz and EA Guzman could not help but tear up as they talked about their relationship in their prenuptial video. The couple had a K-Drama-inspired video, with EA's song 'Habambuhay' playing in the background. Shaira and EA spoke about their 12-year relationship and its challenges while sitting at a park. EA asked Shaira about the hardest part of waiting in their relationship. 'Sa kabila ng tagal ng paghintay sa atin, hindi ko alam kung hanggang kalian ka nandiyaan para sa akin,' Shaira said. The Kapuso Morning Sunshine admitted to having what-ifs in their relationship: 'Pano pag biglang paggising ko, ayaw na niya, pagod na pala siya sa kakahintay.' 'Madaming worries na, oh my gosh, na kakahintay mo mapagod ka na, may mahanap kang better kesa sa 'kin,' she added. EA said he also asked himself whether he could wait and if he could survive their relationship setup that he knows is a challenge. 'Pero every single day na magkasama tayo, magkausap tayo, laging may sagot dun sa mga tanong ko na 'yun, kung hanggang kailan,' EA said. 'And ito, umabot tayo sa 12 years. Dun sa pagmamahal na binibigay mo sa 'kin everyday, dun ako kumapit. And thank you for loving me,' he added. Shaira told EA: 'Thank you for waiting for me.' EA meanwhile said that the wait was worth it because he became a better person. 'Binago mo 'ko in a positive way. Sa trabaho, ginalingan ko, in-improve ko kasi ikaw ang inspiration ko. Sa family ko, mas minahal ko ang pamilya ko gaya ng pagmamahal ko sa 'yo,' he said. The couple has been engaged since 2021, but only publicized it in 2024. They marked their 12th anniversary in February, their last as boyfriend and girlfriend, as they are set to get married this month. Shaira and EA also had their prenup photos taken in South Korea. —Nika Roque/JCB, GMA Integrated News
