Bhagyashree Reveals She Once Worked With A Real-Life Gangster: ‘I Was Very Scared'
Bhagyashree, who made her Bollywood debut in Maine Pyar Kiya, made history with her first film, which became quite successful. But did you know that this actress had to once work with a real-life gangster? The person was accused of more than 20 murders. In her latest interview, Bhagyashree shared how she was initially scared to work with him but later eased when she met him in person.
Bhagyashree shared the interesting story in an interview with Doordarshan Sahyadri. While speaking about the different kinds of roles she has done and people the actress worked with, Bhagyashree recalled, 'In one Telugu film, I worked with a real criminal, and I was very scared during the shoot."
Bhagyashree's Shares Unique Work Experience
She added, 'After taking permission from the government, these criminals were brought out of jail for the film's shooting. The story of the film was inspired by the personal lives of the criminals." Bhagyashree shared that her character was that of a journalist who meets these criminals and wanted to communicate that not everyone who becomes a criminal is born that way; circumstances can shape a person.
Bhagyashree's Encounter With A Gangster
Bhagyashree noted that she was very excited for the film given its unique concept but was nervous when she heard about the gangster being on set. 'I reached the set for shooting, and one day, while I was sitting there, I was told, 'Gangster Bhai is coming for the shoot. He has murdered about 20–30 people.' As soon as the gangster arrived, I was shocked to see him. He was dressed in saffron clothes, wearing several chains around his neck, and was followed by 10–12 bodyguards. He came, sat down, and said to me, 'I like you very much.' On hearing this, my breath caught in my throat. I thought, 'What will happen now?'" said the actress. Later, she was relieved when the criminal claimed that he has a sister who looks like her.
Bhagyashree married Himalaya Dasani in 1989 and while she had a good start in the film industry, the actress has been away from the industry for a long time now.

Talking about the event, Sonu Nigam issued a statement and expressed excitement. 'Janmashtami has always been a pious and prayerful event in our house. I have fond memories of my childhood from both Mumbai and Delhi, each has its own distinct way of celebrating the occasion.. My son, now a big boy, loved dressing up as Krishna when he was a toddler. My sisters wish me a happy birthday every year for they playfully call me Krishna of our house. In fact my father was born on Janmashtami so we wish him a happy birthday too. This year, with JioHotstar bringing everyone together, it feels like those intimate moments are finding a bigger stage," he said.
