Eberechi Eze's stance on Tottenham transfer revealed as Spurs confident of deal
Tottenham are aiming to add to their squad ahead of next season's Champions League return and have put Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze right at the top of their shortlist
Tottenham believe they can finally land Eberechi Eze this summer. Mirror Sport revealed on Sunday that Spurs are looking towards the Crystal Palace star as they try and strengthen their forward line.
And they believe Eze would be keen on the switch with other clubs also interested in the player who has a £68m buy-out clause. Tottenham 's new boss Thomas Frank has prioritised a wide player in the transfer market and they have already made a £65m-plus for Bryan Mbeumo and have made enquiries for Bournemouth 's Antoine Semenyo.
But England international Eze is also a long-term target and they have been getting encouraging noises about whether he would move to Spurs this summer.
Newcastle and Aston Villa have also been linked with Eze while Palace are desperate to keep him after he helped them win the FA Cup and clinch a placce in Europe.
Frank is desperate to strengthen his wide options with Son Heung-min potentially leaving amid strong interest from the Saudi Pro League.
Tottenham remain keen on Mbeumo but face major competition from Manchester United who have made a £55m bid for the Brentford forward.
Frank has a strong link with Mbeumo from Brentford and will be keen to bring him in but the forward has been keen on going to United. That deal is still a possibility for Spurs but they remain determined to strengthen.
Tottenham have made enquiries on Semenyo but Bournemouth do not want to sell after losing Dean Huijsen to Real Madrid while Liverpool are closing in on left back Milos Kerkez.
Bournemouth will demand around £70m for Semenyo and Spurs are now exploring options as they look to bolster their squad for the new manager and also ahead of a season back in the Champions League.
But Tottenham know they could get Eze if they trigger the buy-out clause which has been widely reported - just as long as the player agrees to the switch.

Man Utd make improved bid in excess of £60m for Brentford striker Bryan Mbeumo
Head coach Ruben Amorim is attempting to rebuild the Red Devils after seeing the club's worst top-flight season in 51 years compounded by a damaging Europa League final defeat to Tottenham. Matheus Cunha has joined from Wolves in a £62.5m deal and United are seeking to bolster their attack further before pre-season gets under way on July 7. Having made initial contact with Brentford over Mbeumo earlier this month and reportedly seen a bid of £45m plus £10m in add-ons rejected, it is understood they have now made an offer reaching in excess of £60m. Spurs, now managed by Mbuemo's ex-Bees boss Thomas Frank, are also interested in the Cameroon international. The 25-year-old's contract at Brentford expires next summer, although there is an option to extend by a further year.

Spurs make Bryan Mbeumo decision after Man Utd's new offer for Brentford star
Tottenham are 'expected to focus their efforts' on signing a different player after Manchester United's improved offer for Bryan Mbeumo, according to reports. United and Spurs have been locked in a transfer battle over the Brentford star this summer, who scored 20 Premier League goals last season. It's thought that the Red Devils have already agreed personal terms with Mbeumo on a contract worth around £250,000-a-week. But Brentford rejected United's initial offer, worth up to £55m, which led to speculation that Spurs could jump in and hijack a deal for the right winger. Mbeumo is understood to be 'intrigued' by Spurs – under the management of his ex-boss Thomas Frank – but United has always been his No.1 choice. United have now launched a second bid for Mbeumo, worth more than £60m, Sky Sports reported on Monday. United's new offer appears to have met Brentford's valuation of the player, who could now be on his way to Old Trafford if the Bees accept the bid. Despite United looking set to win the race for Mbeumo, William Gallas is adamant that the Cameroon international would be a better fit for Spurs. 'I think Bryan Mbeumo should choose Spurs over Manchester United this summer,' Gallas told Prime Casino, who offer the latest online slots. 'I think he'd be a great fit into that Spurs team because he could be the star. He has been at Brentford for so long and it's time to step up. More Trending 'I think staying in London would help him progress, Spurs are also in the Champions League and with a manager he knows. I think it would work.' According to talkSPORT, Spurs are now set to focus on signing Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace after United's improved offer for Mbeumo. Eze has just enjoyed a brilliant season at Palace, helping the south London club win the FA Cup for the first time in their history. The England international attacking midfielder scored 14 goals and provided 11 assists for Eagles across 43 games in the 2024-25 campaign.
