Ravens TE Isaiah Likely expected to miss 'a few weeks' with a lower leg injury
OWINGS MILLS, Md. (AP) — Baltimore Ravens tight end Isaiah Likely is expected to miss a few weeks after a lower leg injury Tuesday.
Coach John Harbaugh said after practice that the 25-year-old Likely rolled his ankle and foot area and would have an MRI on Wednesday.
'It'll be a few weeks,' Harbaugh said. 'It's good that it's just early in camp.'
Likely set career highs last season with 42 receptions for 477 yards and six touchdowns. It was his third season in the NFL.
Baltimore is loaded with depth at the tight end position with three-time Pro Bowler Mark Andrews and Charlie Kolar also in the fold. But Likely, who tied for fourth on the team in receptions last season, is an important part of the passing game.
The Ravens open the season at Buffalo on Sept. 7.

BUDAPEST, Hungary (AP) — Ferrari handed team principal Fred Vasseur a new contract on Thursday in a sign of 'trust in Fred's leadership' following speculation about his future, with the Italian team yet to win a Formula 1 race in 2025. In an announcement ahead of the Hungarian Grand Prix , Ferrari said the new deal was a 'multiple-year contract,' without giving further details. Lewis Hamilton gave Vasseur his backing last month after reports in Italian media suggested his job could be in question. Ferrari last won a race in October and neither Hamilton nor Charles Leclerc has consistently been able to challenge the leading McLaren drivers. 'Today we want to recognize what has been built and commit to what still needs to be achieved,' Ferrari chief executive Benedetto Vigna said in a statement. 'It reflects our trust in Fred's leadership — a trust rooted in shared ambition, mutual expectations and clear responsibility. We move forward with determination and focus, united in our pursuit of the level of performance Ferrari has to aim for.' Vasseur joined Ferrari as team principal at the start of 2023. He was Hamilton's team boss in junior series in the mid-2000s and played a role in convincing the seven-time champion to leave Mercedes for Ferrari for 2025 in a move which shook up F1. Vasseur also previously worked with Renault and Sauber in F1. Hamilton, who hasn't finished on the podium in a Grand Prix race since joining the Italian team, has been holding meetings with senior executives to push for improvements and a voice in developing the team's car for 2026. ___ AP auto racing:

Another established voice come to Jalen Hurts defense after cam Newton's verbal assault. No one loved beef like the late, great 'Drama King,' D.J. Kay Slay. If things were quiet and there wasn't any, he'd create some. If he were here, he'd be having a field day with the Jalen Hurts narratives if he hadn't passed on after a COVID-19 contraction in 2022. This seemed like a mere opinion a couple of years ago. Still, it's hard to think of a starting quarterback who is marginalized and disrespected more often than the Philadelphia Eagles starter. All he does is win. All people do is complain. If you only read the narratives, you'd think he was Trevor Lawrence or Justin Herbert... But, that probably doesn't make the point we're trying to communicate because people keep telling us those two are better players. Recently, Cam Newton joined the Jalen Hurts onslaught. That was surprising. If anyone joined Hurt's side, we would have assumed it would have been him, but no dice. Hurts found some support as Newton was criticized for his statements. The 2015 NFL MVP didn't waver. He doubled down. Most thought training camp would shift the focus away from this, but an established voice joined the discussion. And, he's backing Hurts. Chase Senior is an analyst and content creator over at Chat Sports. He hosts Eagles Now and the 49ers Report. He joined in on the Newton vs. Hurts discussion and did Philadelphia sports fans proud. We tried to play devil's advocate and offer a varying opinion just for kicks after that one, but we can't. Senior hit the nail on the head there. That sound you hear is Newton's jaw hitting the floor. Well done, Mr. Senior. There's seemingly nothing left to add after that level of excellence. Léon Marchand tries to break his own 200 IM world record at the swim worlds in Singapore
Associated Press SINGAPORE (AP) — Léon Marchand of France is out to break his own world record in Thursday's 200-meter individual medley at the swimming world championships in Singapore. If you missed it, Marchand only set the record on Wednesday in the semifinals at the worlds — 1 minute, 52.69 seconds. That shattered the old mark of 1:54.00 held by American Ryan Lochte since 2011. Of course, Marchand's victory is almost assured. The only question is by how much. A four-time gold medalist a year ago in the Paris Olympics, Marchand will share the stage on Day 5 with Canada's Summer McIntosh. McIntosh will go for her third medal in Singapore, this time in the 200 freestyle. Elizabeth Dekkers of Australia and American Regan Smith are the main rivals. She has already won gold in the 200 IM and 400 freestyle. McIntosh is bidding for five individual gold medals in Singapore after winning three individual Olympic gold medals in Paris. Yu Zidi, the 12-year-old Chinese swimmer, is the eighth-fastest qualifier in the field as she tries to reach the podium. She was fourth in the 200 IM. Three other finals are on the day's program and the Americans have shots. The United States has won only three gold medals in Singapore with the team battling a stomach bug picked up in training camp in Thailand. Head coach Greg Meehan has suggested team health is improving. In the men's 100 freestyle, American Jack Alexy and Romanian David Popovici were the quickest qualifiers. Popovici has already won the 200 free in Singapore. He was the gold medalist at 200 in Paris, and took bronze in the 100. American Regan Smith has the quickest time in the 50 backstroke followed very closely by Lauren Cox of Britain, American Katharine Berkoff, and Wan Letian of China.
