"RSS World's Biggest NGO, Involved In Nation Building": PM On RSS' 100 Years
"The RSS was formed 100 years ago. It was always involved in nation building. The RSS is dedicated to India's service. It is the world's biggest NGO. Am proud of the history of RSS," the Prime Minister said as he addressed the nation on the occasion of 79th Independence Day.
The RSS, led by Mohan Bhagwat, is planning to hold mega celebrations from August 26 to mark 100 years of its foundation.
The flagship event to mark its 100 years, titled '100 Years of Sangh Yatra - New Horizons', will be held from August 26 to August 28 at Vigyan Bhawan in Delhi.
During this event, Mr Bhagwat is expected to hold an interaction with various sections of society. The event will include lectures, dialogues, and discussions with influencers from 17 fields, including the media, diplomacy, religion, and academia. Similar interactions will also take place in other cities - Bengaluru in November, and Kolkata and Mumbai - in February next year.
While all diplomats will be invited to the event, the RSS has decided not to invite envoys from Pakistan, Turkey, and Bangladesh, sources said.

He said the 2,000 MW Subansiri Lower Project would be ready by May 2026, and the 2,880 MW Dibang Multipurpose Project by February 2032. Work on new hydropower projects worth Rs 2 lakh crore will begin in the next three years. 'These projects are not just about energy but also about empowerment. They will bring in over Rs 4,000 crore annually as free power to the state and Rs 750 crore to support local area development,' he said. Nagaland CM Neiphiu Rio said resolving the Naga political issue remained his top priority. Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma said the state aspired to become a $100 billion economy by 2047, while Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha appealed to the youth to 'unleash their passion for a developed India, dream big, and shape a glorious future.'

Telangana varsities celebrate I-Day with Viksit Bharat vision
Hyderabad: Telangana's leading universities marked the 79th Independence Day with vibrant celebrations, patriotic fervor, and a renewed commitment to national development. Ceremonies at Professor Jayashankar Telangana Agricultural University (PJTAU), Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad (JNTUH), and Osmania University drew large gatherings of students, faculty, and dignitaries. At PJTAU's Sports Complex in Rajendranagar, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Aldas Janaiah unfurled the national flag and addressed the assembly. He highlighted India's transformation into a global agricultural powerhouse, noting its self-sufficiency in food grain production and export strength. Prof. Janaiah emphasized Telangana's strides in agriculture and its alignment with the 'Rising Telangana' vision, asserting that the sector will be pivotal in achieving a Developed India by 2047.
