Daily Record16-05-2025

The Dyson Supersonic Nural in Vinca Blue/Topaz is now £329.99, down from £399.99, in an exclusive limited-time deal on Dyson's website
As summer approaches, many are on the lookout for smarter ways to manage their haircare routine without sacrificing performance. The Dyson Supersonic Nural hair dryer offers a high-tech solution, and for a limited time, it's available at a reduced price, making it a notable option for those seeking innovation in styling.
Available exclusively on Dyson's website, the Supersonic Nural in Vinca Blue and Topaz is now on offer for £329.99, down from its original price of £399.99. This £70 saving applies only to the Vinca Blue/Topaz model. Other colours currently in stock include Jasper Plum, Ceramic Patina/Topaz, and Strawberry Bronze/Blush Pink, but these are not included in the current deal.

The Supersonic Nural is marketed as providing 'fast, intelligent drying' with 'no heat damage,' using a network of Nural sensors to adjust airflow and temperature to enhance natural shine and help protect scalp health.

Its built-in Scalp protect mode maintains an optimal temperature of 55C near the scalp, while attachment learning recognises and adjusts to your styling habits. The Pause detect function uses motion sensors to shut down the heater when the device is set down, saving energy and improving safety.
This model comes with five attachments: a gentle air attachment for close drying, a re-engineered styling concentrator, a wide-tooth comb, a new wave+curl diffuser, and a flyaway attachment designed for sleek finishes.
With four heat settings ranging from 28C to 100C and three airflow settings, the device aims to suit a variety of styling needs. The cold shot feature allows users to lock in their style once finished.

For those considering alternatives, the ghd Helios Professional Hair Dryer is available on Amazon for £127.99, reduced from £179. It has a 4.7-star rating from over 2,000 reviews.
Meanwhile, the Shark FlexStyle 5-in-1 Air Styler & Hair Dryer with Storage Case is priced at £259.99 (down from £279.99) and holds a 4.3-star rating based on 841 reviews.

But if it's the Dyson Supersonic Nural you're after, you're not alone, it's had users raving about its technology and styling results.
With a 4.5-star rating from 949 users, the Dyson Supersonic Nural has received strong praise for its performance.

One reviewer said: 'Brilliant hairdryer, lots of attachments to choose from, and features, much quieter than other dryers, well balanced and comfortable to use…Hair dries faster and feels in a far better condition.'
However, not all feedback is positive.
Another buyer noted: 'It's good but there are a few things that are super annoying. Firstly, the cut-out design feature cuts in when I'm slowly drying my hair. Also their customer service isn't great.'

Another user wrote: 'Only used three times, and although process takes longer than with my previous dryer, my own body temperature does not rise to the point of meltdown, so must be better for my hair. Hair feels thick, strong and bouncy, without frizz.'

On the other hand, a less impressed customer commented: 'I have found this hairdryer is much heavier and incredibly noisy… possibly will return it.'

One more reviewer added: 'Absolutely love my Supersonic Nural. Has cut down my drying by half the time. The dome works great on my medium-length wavy hair and I finish off the roots with diffuser. Leaves hair so soft.'
For many, the Supersonic Nural represents a big leap in haircare technology. If you're looking to upgrade to one of the smartest dryers around, this might be the time.

Clock is ticking to grab £60 off Ninja Doublestack XL Air Fryer in limited-time deal An air fryer has become a household essential, and now shoppers can snap one up for less This massive air fryer makes cooking healthy meals a breeze (Image: Amazon ) Air fryers have quickly become an essential for every household. They are known to make cooking healthy meals easier, quicker and efficient for everyone as they cut cooking time back hugely. However, it can be expensive to invest in a good quality one and shoppers often find themselves doing without. Now, they are in luck as they can snag the NInja Double Stack XL Air Fryer for £209.01 down from £269.99 on Amazon. The Ninja airfryer is said to be 30% slimmer than the AF400, helping save space on shoppers counters. Despite the smaller footprint, it has an extra-large 9.5L capacity - enough to cook for up to eight people - and can cook up to 55% faster than a fan oven (tested on fish fingers and sausages). Rear-positioned fans also help ensure even cooking and crisping across all levels and the unit is said to use up to 55% less energy than a traditional oven - based on sausage cooking tests using the air fry function. With the air fryer comes six cooking modes - max crisp, air fry, roast, bake, reheat and dehydrate. It includes two 4.75L drawers, two non-stick crisper plates and two racks. All parts are completely dishwasher safe and it comes with a 2-year guarantee when registered. Yes it's a big investment but it's so versatile, well made and you have the security of having a well known and established quality brand. You can cook almost anything in it, it's easy to clean, saves a fortune by not using the oven, and the energy efficiency is great. Controls are easy to navigate. The top drawer tends to cook quicker than the bottom drawer which is fine. I would highly recommend this to anyone, small families, large families, absolutely great products.' Another wrote: 'This thing has absolutely no business being this good. It's like having a tiny kitchen wizard on your counter who somehow knows how to make chips better than you ever could. The 9.5L size is a game-changer — you can actually cook for real people, not just two sad potato wedges at a time.' 'I have cooked roast potatoes for a roast, perfect. Chips are crispy and not dried out or hard. Fish cooked well as well as chicken items. Can't wait to try everything else, possibilities are endless,' said another buyer. Some did share opposing opinions, as one shopper said: 'This is not the best. In fact I'm really disappointed with it. This is the second ninja we have purchased the first was brilliant couldn't fault it but this takes twice as long to cook anything.' Article continues below 'I am disappointed with my purchase, it has not functioned correctly for some time now,' said another. However, for £60 off a great quality option, the Ninja Double Stack XL Air Fryer could be a perfect buy.

Stanley's viral tumbler is 40% off — its lowest price ever right now

Keeping a reusable water bottle (that you actually like and sip from) on hand is one of the best ways to get your daily water intake high. And when those scorching hot days roll around, you may want a bottle that's particularly known for keeping water cold and refreshing. Enter: Stanley's viral Quencher Tumbler — the uber popular reusable water bottle, known for keeping drinks cold for hours, is currently 40% off on Amazon, which also happens to be its lowest price ever. Both the 30- and 40-ounce tumblers are almost half off so it's the perfect time to cash in on the trend. The Stanley Quencher H2.0 FlowState Tumbler, often referred to as just 'a Stanley ' has double-wall insulation properties and a stainless steel, BPA-free interior that helps keep drinks like water ice cold for up to 11 hours, according to the brand. I've tried out the Stanley myself and I often put ice water in it before going to bed and wake up to ice cubes in almost full form in the morning. Plus, I love that the bottom of the bottle is compatible with many cup holders, including the ones on the treadmill at my gym. The tumbler, which is available in a 30-ounce handled version, is available in a long list of colors and designs, including many limited-edition and themed ones. Why trust NBC Select? I'm a commerce editor at NBC Select, where I write about deals and sale events on reusable water bottles and other everyday accessories and small home appliances. Pierce Brosnan reveals his favourite pick for James Bond

Former James Bond star Pierce Brosnan has thrown his weight behind an actor for the role (Picture: Getty/Rex) Pierce Brosnan has given an indication as to who his pick for the next James Bond is, calling the actor 'wonderful'. The 72-year-old star, who held 007's licence to kill from 1995's GoldenEye to 2002's Die Another Day – making four films in total as the suave spy – was initially reluctant to say. 'I have no picks. I shall leave it open to the powers that be,' he initially began, adding: 'It's a very exciting moment in the history of James Bond. Now that Barbara [Broccoli] and Michael [G Wilson] have relinquished the reins of it.' However, when The Hollywood Reporter asked how his MobLand co-star Tom Hardy could do in the role, Brosnan laughingly changed his tune. 'Oh! Tom would be wonderful,' he agreed. 'There's so many great actors out there who could portray this character. I have no idea who, I have no idea. I wish whoever it is great success.' While the 007 actor is careful not to pick favourites, he couldn't help but back his co-star Tom Hardy as a contender (Picture: Getty) The Bond franchise is now under the full creative control of Amazon MGM Studios, after the Broccoli family, its long-term producers through parent studio Eon, ceded that power earlier this year. Amazon had previously acquired the rights to the franchise through Eon, founded in 1961, when it bought MGM in 2022 for $8.45billion (£6.24bn). But Broccoli and Wilson retained final say on key production issues such as casting until February, when it's thought Amazon paid over $1billion (£739.3million) to buy those rights from them. Venom star Hardy, 47, has long been a favourite candidate for the coveted role of Bond in fans' eyes. The pair star together in Paramount Plus gangster series MobLand (Picture: Getty) As well as routinely featuring in betting companies' odds, he sparked a wave of support once more last summer, when Venom: The Last Dance's trailer showed him suited up in black tie, adjusting his cuff as he walked – a very Craig-era Bond thing to do. 'Tom Hardy in a tux is just teasing us for his supposed James Bond gig… man what an actor,' tweeted fan Sandra on X at the time, while Ally Keyoni was more insistent in her choice, writing: 'CAST TOM HARDY AS JAMES BOND RN.' Brosnan has been cautious of saying too much in this era of change for his beloved character, but he did previously suggest that he could be interested in returning to the role himself as a 'romantic notion'. However, he added to GQ that he felt it 'was best left to another man, really. Fresh blood'. Brosnan, now 72, played Bond for four films from 1995 to 2002 (Picture:) Hardy, 47, has always had a lot of support for the role – and while previous producers were looking for someone in their 30s, it could be different with Amazon in control (Picture: EPA-EFE/Rex/Shutterstock) In MobLand, Hardy plays Harry De Souza, a fixer for Harrigan crime family, led by Conrad (Brosnan) and Maeve (Dame Helen Mirren). The series is co-directed and executive produced by Guy Ritchie. Despite being Irish himself, Brosnan has faced criticism over his accent in the show, which has been branded 'offensive' by some. Having his say on the backlash, the Drogheda-native previously told Radio Times: 'My own accent is very soft, Conrad's accent is a million miles away from me.' Shedding light on his inspiration for the accent, Pierce explained that it was taken from someone suggested by his dialect coach. 'I told him that I needed a Kerry accent, so he gave me the name of a man and I googled the guy and that was it,' he added. Irish actor Brosnan, famously a non-English pick for 007, recently came under fire for his Irish accent in MobLand (Picture: Paramount Plus) 'It was a Kerry accent and so, I just gave it full tilt.' Brosnan will next be seen in Netflix's eagerly anticipated adaptation of Richard Osman's novel The Thursday Murder Club, again opposite Dame Helen, as well as Sir Ben Kingsley and Celia Imrie. The quartet star as retirees who spend their free time solving cold cases for the pure fun of it, but things take a murderous turn when they are thrown into a real crime on their doorstep.
