Newsboy's horse racing tips for Wednesday's five meetings including York NAP
The York May meeting opens on Wednesday when five races will be live on ITV and Newsboy fancies Night Raider in the feature sprint prize
NIGHT RAIDER (3.13, NAP) can mount a successful assault on the 1895 Duke Of York Clipper Stakes by trainer Karl Burke at York today. A flop when contesting the 2,000 Guineas last year, he's proven much more at home in sprints, slamming the millionaire Annaf at Southwell on his latest appearance in November.
He is one of three runners from the Burke stable in the Group 2 sprint and although he has yet to score on turf, he won't be for catching if he can reproduce his all-weather form.
MISS TONERRE (3.45) is not entered in the Oaks but does boast Classic form having finished fourth behind 1,000 Guineas first and second Desert Flower and Flight at Doncaster last year.
She wasn't suited by very heavy ground on her final start and should be more at home on a faster surface and longer 1m2f trip in the Tattersalls Musidora Stakes.
MARHABA THE CHAMP (2.10) can return to winning ways over the course and distance where he last scored in 2023, while ROUSING ENCORE (2.42) looks a value option in the 6f handicap after solid runs at Newbury and Leicester.
Before he goes up the weights Charlie Johnston's TATIE BOGLE (4.18) can strike in the 7f handicap, four days after going down by a neck at Lingfield.
At Yarmouth, John & Sean Quinn send a rare runner to the seaside track, a trip which can be rewarded with a first win in two years for FINBAR'S LAD (2.25).

Lake Victoria, the Irish 1,000 Guineas winner, will not make the Coronation Stakes next week following an announcement by Coolmore Aidan O'Brien has ruled another of his stars out of the Royal Ascot meeting. O'Brien enjoyed a stellar Derby Festival, sweeping the board in the Epsom Group 1 races by winning the Coronation Cup with Jan Brueghel, Oaks with Minnie Hauk and Betfred Derby with Lambourn. He is expected to carry that momentum through to next week's five day Royal Ascot meeting for which he will inevitably have a host of live candidates. Yet long range plans have had to adjusted lately following the retirement of champion stayer Kyprios and a training setback suffered by one of his leading two-year-olds Albert Einstein. On Monday another star was scratched from the prestigious fixture when champion filly Lake Victoria was ruled out of the Coronation Stakes. Lake Victoria won all five starts last year, culminating in success at the Breeders' Cup, but finished sixth in the 1,000 Guineas. She redeemed herself with victory in the Irish 1,000 Guineas from which she was expected to progress to the royal meeting. However Coolmore announced on Monday, 'Lake Victoria will not run at Royal Ascot. She will have an easy few weeks and will return for a late summer/autumn campaign.' The statement did not divulge whether the filly had suffered any training setback but did reveal plans for Minnie Hauk and Whirl, who finished first and second at Epsom. 'Epsom Oaks winner Minnie Hauk will target the Irish Oaks, while Whirl, who finished runner-up in the Epsom Oaks, will head for the Gr.1 Pretty Polly Stakes.' Lake Victoria had been odds-on favourite for the Coronation Stakes and following her defection bookmakers slashed the price of French filly Zarigana, controversial winner of the French 1,000 Guineas. She was cut to 10-11 from 11-4 by Ladbrokes while another O'Brien filly Exactly is 6-1 from 12-1. Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: "Lake Victoria's Ascot omission has shaken up the Coronation Stakes betting, and then some. 'Zarigana now holds this year's odds-on tag, while Exactly and Shes Perfect are now firmly in the mix as genuine frontrunners to cause a royal upset next week."

Champion jockey lands stellar Royal Ascot rides after securing top job
Colin Keane, Ireland's six-time title winner, has been appointed by powerful Juddmonte operation as its retained rider with immediate effect Irish champion jockey Colin Keane can look forward to a stellar Royal Ascot after securing one of the top jobs in racing. Keane has won six titles in Ireland through an enduring association with trainer Ger Lyons. Together they have enjoyed multiple Group 1 wins including in the Irish 2,000 Guineas and at the Breeders' Cup, which have helped put Keane in the frame for the winning mounts on Tarnawa in the Breeders' Cup Turf, Westover in the Irish Derby and Field Of Gold in this year's Irish 2,000 Guineas. Keane picked up the ride at the Curragh after Kieran Shoemark was sacked from the John & Thady Gosden-trained horse following a narrow defeat in the 2,000 Guineas. Shoemark had been riding the majority of the Gosden stable horses since Frankie Dettori quit Britain. Applying a 'best available' policy Oisin Murphy was aboard Lead Artist when he captured the Lockinge Stakes at Newbury. Now all Juddmonte's top rides in Britain, Ireland and France will go to the 30-year-old Keane who becomes the operation's first retained rider since James Doyle. At Royal Ascot Lead Artist is set to line up in the Queen Anne Stakes, Field Of Gold in the St James's Palace while Babouche, trained by Lyons, is set to contest the Commonwealth Cup. Juddmonte's chief executive, Douglas Erskine Crum, said in a statement: 'In the past we have had retained jockey relationships (including with Pat Eddery, Richard Hughes and James Doyle) but in recent years we have preferred to work with the many talented jockeys retained by our various trainers around the world. 'We have decided that the time has now come to revert to the security and consistency which comes from having a single jockey retainer relationship. We are delighted that Colin Keane has committed himself to Juddmonte. 'He is one of the most exciting and talented riders of his generation, he shares Juddmonte's values, we know him well and we warmly welcome him to the Juddmonte team.' Juddmonte have owned some of the biggest names in the sport, notably the great Frankel, and more recently superstar filly Enable. Keane said: 'I have grown up watching these famous colours carried to many victories in all the top races around the globe so it's very special for me to be asked to ride as first jockey for Juddmonte. 'I'm excited to get started and look forward to working with some of the best trainers in Ireland, England, and France. Tony Hind will look after my UK rides as he has worked closely with Juddmonte for many years now through Richard Hughes and Ryan Moore.'
