Demi Lovato Releases New Single "Fast," First from Upcoming Album
Demi Lovato is back and ready for life in the fast lane.
The "Child Star" director released her latest single 'Fast' on Thursday night, the first from her upcoming ninth studio album.
Lovato teased the track on
social media
earlier this month before officially announcing its arrival.
In one mid-July Instagram video, the singer-actress lip-synced to the lyrics of the track, singing, ''Cause baby honestly / I just wanna feel your hands all over me / Over and over / Right where they wanna be / Even if it's only for tonight.'
Lovato released an
accompanying
music video with the track, where she could be seen amongst a slate of burning cars while singing the chorus: 'I wanna go fast / I wanna go hard / I wanna go anywhere, anywhere you are.'
Entitled 'Fast,' the single marks Lovato's return to the pop music genre after she'd previously tapped into rock in her previous record Holy Fvck. Her ninth album will be executive produced by music producer Zhone, who has notably collaborated with Kesha, Troye Sivan and Charli xcx.
'It's been so inspiring working with Demi and experiencing her journey of continued leveling up,' Zhone told
Rolling Stone
. 'She is such a master in the studio. This album is about letting inhibitions go, and we had so much fun making this music! It really comes across throughout.'
The Camp Rock star's most recent release was Revamped, which literally revamped and remixed tracks from her sprawling discography.
'Fast's' arrival comes almost a year after Lovato made her directorial debut with her documentary Child Star, which shed light on 'the highs and lows of growing up in the spotlight through the lens of some of the world's most well-known former child stars.'
The doc featured interview with Drew Barrymore, JoJo Siwa, Christina Ricci, Kenan Thompson, Raven-Symoné and Alyson Stoner, among others.
Lovato, too, recently tied the knot with Jordan 'Jutes' Luts earlier this year.

A sneak peek at Mohamed Ramadan's new film Assad - Screens - Arts & Culture
Egyptian actor Mohamed Ramadan shared a few photos from the shooting location of his highly anticipated film Assad (Lion), set for release this year, on his Instagram account. Over the past weeks, Ramadan has also released other photos and videos presenting different scenes from the film. In Assad, Ramadan portrays Ali ibn Muhammad, who led the Zanj Rebellion, a major revolt against the Abbasid Caliphate (from 869 to 883). The film is directed and co-written by Mohamed Diab, a filmmaker also known for writing and directing 678 (2010), Eshtebak (Clash, 2016), among other works. Diab also directed episodes one, three, five, and six of Marvel Studios' TV mini-series Moon Knight and was the co-executive producer of the whole series. Although the date of the film's release has not been announced yet, the audience expected cinemas to show it during Eid Al-Adha in June. However, it was postponed, with some media sources pointing to December this year. The film creators clarified that the grand production requires extensive work to ensure the best results in terms of picture, sound, music, locations, visual effects, and other factors. The film features 70 actors, including 12 major stars and special guests from Egypt, Palestine, Lebanon, and Sudan. It also includes 50 supporting actors — some in single yet pivotal scenes. ICESCO Launches Second Edition of Its Poetry Contest 'Cities of Poems'
Mohamed Mandour The Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) announces the launch of the second edition of the annual poetry award 'Cities of Poems,' dedicated this year to the city of Samarkand, Republic of Uzbekistan, in celebration of its designation as a 2025 Culture Capital in the Islamic World. The annual contest, which coincides with ICESCO's announcement of the Culture Capital in the Islamic World, aims to revive and strengthen the age-old connection between poetry and place: an enduring relationship that has inspired many immortal works in Arabic and global poetry. It also seeks to document, through poetic and aesthetic expression, the history and geography of cities, and to honor the figures and civilizations celebrated by the Capitals of Culture in the Islamic World through poetry. Poetic submissions, in either Arabic or Uzbek, will be accepted starting 1st August 2025, and ending on Wednesday, 31st December 2025. A panel of experts from ICESCO, together with a host of distinguished poets, will evaluate the submitted poems to select three winners. The first-place winner will receive a USD 3,000 cash prize; the second-place winner will receive USD 2,000; and the third-place winner will receive USD 1,000. In addition, all winners will be awarded certificates of appreciation. Hannah El Zahed Reveals Near-Death Experience Shooting Film "El Shater"
Yara Sameh Egyptian actress Hannah El Zahed had a near brush with death while shooting scenes for her latest film, " El Shater ." In a recent conversation with "Al Arabiya" satellite TV Channel, El Zahed recalled she nearly drowned in a scene underwater, which required her to float and to stay put, she was tied down with iron. "People thought I was swimming, but the truth was, I was drowning," she explained. "The iron was very heavy, and I couldn't get to the surface on my own. They thought I was getting out, but I was actully dying,". "I was scared filming this scene," El Zahed noted, something common with her co-actor Mostafa Gharieb, who affirmed: "We were all scared of the scene. The only one who wasn't scared was Amir Karara." Karara explained that there was no cause for concern due to the professional divers underwater with them while shooting the scene, adding that El Zahed was feeling scared as the weight of the iron was too much for her. Released on July 16, the pic sees Karara returning to the action comedy genre for the second time since 2023's film "Baebae" (The Bogeyman). Ahmed El Gendy directed the film from a script he co-wrote with Karim Youssef. "El Shater" is co-produced by Synergy Films and Pyramids Productions and marks the first collaboration between Karara and El Zahed. The official logline for the film reads: "Adham (Karara) goes on an adventure and comedy trip to search for his brother with his friend Fattouh (Gharib) in Turkiye. During the trip, he meets Carmen (El Zahed), whose life changes 180 degrees after meeting her."
