Linda Mtoba's guide to confidence and taking care of her skin

News2425-04-2025

Whether she's jet-setting to international award shows or just sitting at home with her little girl, Linda Mtoba makes sure her skin is taken care of.
TRUELOVE caught up with the Queendom actor at the launch of Vaseline's new Cera-Glow range and she breaks down everything from her skincare routine to her thoughts on social media filters and feeling good in her skin.
Tell us about your skincare routine.
"Okay, my skincare steps, one, ukugeza. Let's start there! First things first, you need to have a shower, make sure that you are cleansed and clean. Followed by my face care, I always wash my face with cold water then I have [an] ice bath on my face. I just put my face in literally cold water and ice, or I have [an] ice roller that I have in the bathroom, I use that.
"And then what I can't miss is my retinol for my face, I think retinol is very important. And peptides for your face. That's what my dermatologist told me, 'If you're doing those two things, your skin's going to be glowing'. And then followed by my actual skincare … I first put on my oil and then I go in with my moisturiser, my lotion."

How do you make yourself feel good in your skin?
"I don't know if it's an age thing or what but even sitting at home I put on a lighter fragrance and then put it over my gown, ngifaka kancane just to smell good."
Looking and feeling good even in your own space, why is that so important to you?
"Because it's still me. Where I am, it doesn't really matter. Wherever I am, I'm there with me, so I should always feel my best, regardless of where the situation is. So, I think its just an important thing to always just know that it's always just you, it's still you.
"Whether you're going to an event, whether you're going out the house, whether it's going to be at home. If you want to put perfume, do it because it's for you."
What have been some problem areas with your skin that you really wanted to target?
"Oh, my stretch marks and cellulite have been a big one especially since having my child and Vaseline products have really helped with the appearance of my stretch marks quite a bit … So, I've been using argan for the past four years."

What are your thoughts on using filters when posting on social media?
"Everyone has a bad day sometimes. So, you just don't be feeling your best sometimes and I'm so specific on that 'sometimes'. One thing that I do try my best to do is that even when I snap my stories, most of the times I don't put on any filters. And the reason being is that, as much as I can put a filter on, at the end of the day I still have to face myself as I am,
"So, the first thing starts with me accepting myself as I actually am. I mean, everyone has bad days. Sometimes your skin is acting up, your hair's not looking its best, and that's okay because we use it as a shield of some sort. But when your skin is taken care of, you don't need to have that shield up all the time."

Cardi B's Boyfriend Seemingly Reacts to Offset's ‘PR' Comments

Cardi B's boyfriend, Stefon Diggs, seemingly gave a crafty response to Offset's latest remarks. The Grammy winner's ex-husband apparently took a dig at her latest online posts, officially announcing her relationship with the star NFL player. The photos captured a few intimate moments between the new couple as they enjoyed a perfect romantic getaway on a yacht. Reportedly, Offset threw a 'PR' shade at the pair through a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter). It also included a GIF of a person tossing a basketball with 'TODAY I PASS' written on it. However, the posts were immediately deleted. But it seemed the damage had been done as Diggs' Instagram Story appeared to be a response to the Migos rapper's comments. Stefon Diggs currently grabbed attention with his latest Instagram Story, which seemed to be a clap back to Offset's remarks. The latter's now-deleted comments on X (formerly Twitter) raised eyebrows among fans, who believed the ex-husband was taking a dig at Cardi B and her new boyfriend. The New England Patriots' wide receiver didn't react to Cardi B's official announcement about their relationship. However, he seemingly didn't hold back when her estranged spouse took a dig at their romance. In response to Offset's now-deleted post, Diggs seemingly posted a black-and-white photo of himself on his Instagram story. The picture showed him catching a football, which hyped fans' speculations, claiming the footballer caught Offset's 'pass.' Prior to this, Cardi B gained attention on social media when she slammed her ex-husband on X Spaces. The singer expressed her emotions online and directed her anger at Offset for asking for spousal support during their divorce proceedings. She accused him of not helping her financially to raise their three children — daughters Kulture and Blossom and son Wave. Originally reported by Sushmita Sen on Reality Tea.
