Nathan Franks wins The Q at Myrtle Beach, earns a spot in this week's PGA Tour event The 16-man competition was taped Saturday and produced and shown on YouTube Monday afternoon.
Nathan Franks outlasted seven other aspiring pros and eight golf content creators to win The Q at Myrtle Beach, a unique Monday qualifier.
Now, Franks will tee it up in his first PGA Tour event starting Thursday in the Oneflight Myrtle Beach Classic, an opposite-field event at The Dunes Golf & Beach Club in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
The Q at Myrtle Beach was contested and recorded on Saturday, May 3. It was then produced into a three-hour video and streamed on YouTube on Monday.
Franks was the only golfer to break 70 in the event, shooting 3-under 69 to beat Joe Hooks and Tyler Watts by a shot. Trevor Gutschewski was solo fourth at 1 under, the only other of the 16 golfers to break par. Sean Walsh was the high finisher among the creators. He tied for fifth after an even-par 72.
In March of 2024, Franks was with his South Carolina teammates when they were involved in an accident while driving home from a tournament. The team van T-boned a car that ran a red light and Franks, who earlier that day won medalist honors at the Schenkel Invitational, was injured and missed the subsequent SEC Championship.
The second-year Myrtle Beach Classic will be opposite the signature event Truist Championship, formerly the Wells Fargo Championship).

Why are the San Antonio Spurs supposedly a team to watch in Jaylen Brown trade talks?
Why are the San Antonio Spurs supposedly a team to watch in Jaylen Brown trade talks? Why are the San Antonio Spurs supposedly a team to watch in Jaylen Brown trade talks for the Boston Celtics? With all the grans of salt taken in light of it being silly season (that time of year when reports about NBA teams are often coming from parties trying to bend things towards their interests), we have been hearing rumbles from trustworthy media that there might be a deal to be made for the Georgia native between Boston and San Antonio. If there is any proverbial fire to this smoke, what would such a deal look like to make sense for both parties? Would Brown be okay with decamping to Texas after all the roots he has put down in the local community over the last near-decade? Is this all just a distraction when it comes down to brass tacks? The folks behind the "WEEI Boston's Sports Original" YouTube channel put together a clip from their "Jones and Keefe" show that takes a deep dive into these rumors. Check it out below!

Could the Boston Celtics find a way to trade for Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo?
Could the Boston Celtics find a way to trade for Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo? Could the Boston Celtics find a way to trade for Milwaukee Bucks star forward Giannis Antetokounmpo? It is the biggest open secret perhaps in the league that the Greek Freak is not long for the Bucks, and will likely be traded to another ball club soon unless he makes it clear he wants to remain in Milwaukee. But with the Celtics also staring down a historic payroll and tax bill as well, it seems like a hard row to hoe to reduce the salary on Boston's roster while also landing a player making the sort of max money Giannis currently is taking home. Just how realistic are these ideas of getting Antetokounmpo to the Celtics? The folks behind the "Green With Envy" YouTube channel put together a clip taking a deep dive into the topic of a Giannis trade to Boston and what it might take. Check it out below!

Rory McIlroy a laughingstock after PGA Tour career worst
The post Rory McIlroy a laughingstock after PGA Tour career worst appeared first on ClutchPoints. Almost two months ago, Rory McIlroy completed his quest for a career grand slam, winning the Masters Tournament. That was already his third win of the 2025 season. McIlroy won both the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and the PLAYERS Championship. It appeared his game had finally reached another level. Advertisement With six days until the U.S. Open tees off at Oakmont, that no longer seems the case. McIlroy flamed out at the PGA Championship and controversially opted not to speak to the media after each round. The Northern Irishman then skipped Jack Nicklaus' Memorial Tournament, which turned heads. This week, he was back on the course at the RBC Canadian Open, an event he has won twice. Not only did the familiarity with TPC Toronto not help get his game back on track, but he is having the worst tournament of his PGA Tour career. McIlroy carded a 1-over 71 on Thursday. That placed him below the projected cut line entering the second round but only by a couple of strokes. Then Friday happened. Advertisement With three holes to play, McIlroy sits at 9-over for the tournament. He is 150th in the field out of 153 golfers. The worst 36-hole finish of McIlroy's career was a tie for 142nd, per Underdog Golf. He will undoubtedly be heading home early. As his round played out, fans took to social media with some truly wild reactions. 'Rory McIlroy has (understandably) mentally checked out following his Masters win. Such a shame considering the form he was in pre-Augusta.,' one fan posted on X, formerly Twitter. Even Barstool Sports' Riggs could not contain himself. 'Rory F***ing McIlroy you are an emotional rollercoaster what is wrong with you I love you so much.' Advertisement Following four straight pars to begin his round, everything went off the rails on the par-4 5th. The five-time major champion carded a snowman eight for a quadruple bogey. From there, he bogeyed 8, 10, and 13 while double-bogeying the par-3 12th. He made his first birdie of the day on 15, prompting the most perfect troll reaction ever. Barring some double eagles coming in, this will mark the worst 36-hole finish of McIlroy's career, just in time for the U.S. Open.
