Geri Horner's week from hell and why she'd 'never have gone' to Mel B's wedding
Geri Horner has had a "week from hell" - and there was no way she would be attending Mel B's wedding. Her Spice Girls bandmate tied the knot last weekend but Geri was nowhere to be seen.
Ahead of the event, insiders confirmed Emma Bunton would be there with her husband Jade Jones, but Mel C, Victoria Beckham and Geri Horner will not. A source had said: "Victoria loves Mel but sadly she will be out of the country, and wishes she could be there. Mel C too would have been there but she is on tour in Sweden. They have a great deal of affection for Melanie."
Mel married her partner Rory in a glittering wedding attended by a number of celebrities including Alan Carr, Angelica Bell and Katherine Ryan amongst others.
It has been a tough week for Geri, as Christian also made a surprise exit from his role at Red Bull. In a lengthy post, Christian wrote: "After an incredible journey of 20 years together, it is with a heavy heart that today I say goodbye to the team I have absolutely loved. Every one of you, the amazing people at the factory, have been the heart and soul of everything that we have achieved. Win and lose, every step of the way, we have stood by each other as one and I will never forget that.
"It's been a privilege being part of and leading this epic team and I am so proud of our collective accomplishments and you all. Thanks to the amazing partners and fans who enabled us to go racing. Your support has helped grow the team from its humble beginnings to an F1 powerhouse that laid claim to six Constructors Championships and eight Drivers' Championships."
Now, a source has revealed how much of a tough week it has been for Geri, with Christian's ex-wife having passed away.
"It's been a really devastating time for the family and Christian has been in a hole about Beverley," a source told The Mirror of Geri's tough week, "Geri was never going to go to Mel B's wedding, it just wouldn't have been fun for her and Christian to have gone when her and Mel haven't always seen eye to eye.
"It's been a week from hell for the family with Beverley's passing and Christian's exit from Red Bull, but Geri is relieved now everyone knows what's been going on behind closed doors, because it's not been easy."
A source also previously revealed to us that Geri was unhappy over her husband Christian Horner's decision to leave Red Bull.
"Geri is going to stand by her man and is supporting him fully. Image means so much to her, but behind closed doors she isn't happy about the attention this brings," the insider said, "Image means so much to Geri and she knows everyone will relate it back to the leaked messages and what went on last year, so it's not easy for her."

Self-declared far-right fascist proudly shares his beliefs on popular podcast... then begs for cash after firing
A man who openly identified as a 'fascist' during a political debate with former MSNBC star Mehdi Hasan has raised over $26,000 on a Christian crowdfunding site after claiming he was fired for voicing his far-right political beliefs. The man, only identifying himself as Connor, had bragged to Hasan on Sunday how he was a 'fascist' and wholeheartedly believed in 'autocracy.' The assertion, delivered during an episode of the YouTube debate series Surrounded, left Hasan briefly at a loss. Hasan, in turn, said he did not 'debate fascists', and shut the conversation down. The very next day, 'Connor' was begging for a buck on on GiveSendGo, where, as of writing, he has already racked up almost $30,000. 'You're braver than most and also 100 percent correct,' a caption for one donation reads. 'Keep strong and keep speaking the truth,' someone who gifted the conservative $50 said. 'Nothing Connor said was wrong and I'm tired of having to pretend I don't agree,' scathed someone else. Others offered blessings after Connor had introduced himself as a Catholic, during an advertised debate that saw Hasan face off against him and 19 other 'far-right conservatives' as part of Jubilee's 'Surrounded' series. There, after quoting Nazi political theorist Carl Schmitt and praising Spanish dictator Francisco Franco, Connor found himself being pressed by Hasan on whether he was 'a fan of the Nazis' 'I think that there was a little bit of persecution and stuff like that, which is bad,' Connor answered, referring to the regime's persecution of Jewish people. He went on to slam the Nazis' treatment of the Catholic clergy, some of whom were sent to concentration camps along with six million Jews. 'I, frankly, don't care being called a Nazi at all,' he added A stunned Hasan could only say in response: 'We may have to rename this show, because you're a little bit more than a far-right Republican.' A grinning Connor quipped: 'Hey, what can I say?' - before being met with Hasan's reply: 'I think you can say, "I'm a fascist."' 'Yeah, I am,' Connor said with a lighthearted laugh, before being met with applause from others in attendance. Within hours, the same man was asking for financial help from onlookers for being 'unfairly cancelled', without providing details of the role or company he was supposedly fired from. He has raised nearly $30,000 Daily Mail has reached out to 'Connor' - who operates several conservative commentary pages on platforms like X and Instagram - for comment Within hours, he was asking for help without providing details of the role or company he was supposedly fired from. 'I'm raising money as an emergency fund and for other expenses while I look for a new job,' he said. 'Unfortunately voicing fully legal traditional right wing political views results in real consequences,' he continued, calling the occurred 'cancel culture and political discrimination on full display. The page originally sported a $15,000 goal but seems poised to collect more. 'We need a white nation! It's our only future! Vive le Fascisme,' another donor wrote.

Felix Baumgartner's official cause of death after famous skydiver's freak accident
Red Bull-sponsored athlete Felix Baumgartner died last Thursday after his motorised paraglider spiralled fatally out of control before crashing into a holiday camp The cause of death has been revealed for Austrian daredevil Felix Baumgartner, who was killed in a catastrophic paraglider crash while descending over an Italian resort. The 56-year-old Red Bull-sponsored athlete died at around 4pm local time on Thursday after his motorised paraglider spiralled fatally out of control above Porto Sant'Elpidio, a coastal town in Italy's Fermo province. Baumgartner, who was holidaying with his partner Michela Radulescu, had been soaring above the Adriatic Sea when he crashed into a swimming pool at the Le Mimose holiday camp. An investigation into the incident is now underway. Attorney General Raffaele Iannella confirmed to BILD that autopsies are currently being carried out on Baumgartner's body at the forensic medicine department of nearby Fermo hospital. READ MORE: Austrian daredevil Felix Baumgartner killed in horror paragliding crash He said: "What we know for sure so far: Baumgartner died on impact, his spine fractured in the lower part of his back, and his spinal cord was damaged." Local media reports suggest a freak mid-air malfunction may have caused the sudden descent. Investigators are examining the possibility that a camera mounted to Baumgartner's paraglider dislodged and fell into the propeller, destroying it mid-flight. Authorities are working to recover the camera to piece together a clearer timeline of the crash. Italy's public prosecutor's office has said the investigation could take between 40 and 45 days to complete. READ MORE: Felix Baumgartner's last tragic Instagram post before fatal paragilde crash In the aftermath of the tragedy, Michela Radulescu posted chilling footage of Baumgartner taken just minutes before his final flight. Sharing the clip on X, she wrote: 'For over 12 years I was there for every take off and landing, from skydiving, paragliding, helicopter flights, paramotor to aerobatic shows. And when I couldn't be there for some heli flights, we had the WLC code - 'the Wifey Landing Call'. Never missed one. Except …this one.' Describing him as 'truly special,' she said Baumgartner was 'going home now, up there, where he was the happiest ever.' The 55-year-old also thanked supporters for keeping 'his unique legacy high up.' Baumgartner shot to global fame in 2012 when he jumped from the edge of space in what remains the world 's most extreme skydive.

F1 star criticises Christian Horner decision after Red Bull snub
Carlos Sainz says he 'doesn't understand' why Red Bull and Christian Horner didn't sign him to partner Max Verstappen for the 2025 Formula 1 season. Last year, after it was announced that Sir Lewis Hamilton would be taking his seat at Ferrari, Sainz was looking to join a new team and had become a very desirable target. The four-time race winner was heavily-linked with a sensational return to Red Bull having come through their academy and made his debut at junior team Toro Rosso, alongside Verstappen, in 2015. While the move was backed by many pundits and fans, then-team principal Horner decided to extend the contract of Sergio Perez, leading Sainz to sign for Williams. It was thought that tension between the Verstappen and Sainz camps had been a factor in the decision, but the Spaniard claims that is not the case, telling the High Performance podcast: 'The only thing I can say is I genuinely get on well with Max. 'This is what people don't see from the outside. We had a rivalry in our first year in Formula 1 in Toro Rosso, but it was a relatively healthy rivalry in terms of him and me, the way we used to go about racing. And now we get on really well. 'So, if that's the reason, I don't understand why they wouldn't want me next to Max, because I think we would actually be a very strong pairing in Formula 1. 'If the opportunity had come, I probably would have taken it.' The decision backfired on Horner as Perez's performances slumped, costing Red Bull the constructors' championship, with the Mexican subsequently sacked and replaced by Liam Lawson. Lawson in turn was axed after just two races this year and his replacement Yuki Tsunoda has also struggled, with Red Bull, so dominant just a few years ago, looking likely to finish fourth in the standings this year. The results on the track, as well as issues off it, cost Horner his job, with Red Bull 'relieving him of operational duties' shortly after the British Grand Prix a few weeks ago. Finding a teammate who can get close to four-time champion Verstappen's performances has been a major issue for the F1 giants since Daniel Ricciardo left in 2018. Sainz was beaten by the Dutchman in their only season together, when they were both rookies, but the 30-year-old has always been highly-rated, impressing during his time at Toro Rosso, Renault, McLaren and Ferrari. 'I think everyone's having a really tough time being Max's team-mate. I can only say that when I was Max's team-mate, I didn't have this tough time,' he added. 'I was obviously incredibly surprised with how quick he was, with how he's an insane driver. I mean, he's going to go out to be one of the best ever in history, if he's not already one. More Trending 'But that first year together, since then, has given me the confidence to know I can be up against anyone. I've been team-mates with Charles Leclerc, with Lando Norris, with Nico Hulkenberg, very quick guys, and probably the best in the sport. 'Now Alex Albon is incredibly fast also, and it just makes me want to be up against the best still. I know I can take it, and I know I've been successful in the past.' Sainz is admittedly having a tough time this season as he adapts to Williams, with just 13 points from 12 races, compared to teammate Albon who has 46. He'll have a chance to climb up the standings this weekend when F1 heads to Spa for the Belgian Grand Prix. For more stories like this, check our sport page.
