West Bank: Settlers Attack Two Palestinian Villages Near Ramallah - Jordan News
Israeli settlers attacked two Palestinian villages near Ramallah in the central West Bank on Saturday evening, firing live bullets and setting fires, according to official Palestinian media. اضافة اعلان The Palestinian news agency Wafa reported that armed settlers, under the protection of Israeli occupation forces, attacked the village of Ramon from the northwest, opening fire at residents and their homes. No injuries were reported. Settlers also set fire to agricultural land surrounding Palestinian homes in the area. Israeli forces entered the area to secure the settlers, firing illumination flares that exacerbated the fires, causing material damage to Palestinian farmland. Another group of settlers attacked the village of Deir Jarir, sparking clashes with residents. Settlers gathered at the village's western entrance, while Israeli forces stormed the area to protect them, closing the entrance and firing live ammunition and tear gas at unarmed residents trying to repel the attack. No injuries were reported. The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said in a brief statement to Anadolu Agency that the Israeli army prevented its crews from reaching Deir Jarir after reports of the settler attack. According to the Palestinian government's Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, settlers carried out 466 assaults against Palestinians and their property in the West Bank in July alone, killing four people and forcibly displacing two Bedouin communities comprising 50 Palestinian families. Alongside the ongoing genocide in Gaza, Israeli forces and settlers in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, have killed at least 1,013 Palestinians, wounded around 7,000, and arrested more than 18,500, according to Palestinian data. Since October 7, 2023, Israel—backed by the United States—has been committing genocide in Gaza through killing, starvation, destruction, and displacement, ignoring international appeals and International Court of Justice orders to stop. The assault has so far resulted in 61,369 Palestinian deaths, 152,862 injuries, over 9,000 missing persons, hundreds of thousands displaced, and famine claiming many lives. (Anadolu)

Two killed in first breach of Sweida ceasefire in Syria
Groups affiliated with Hikmat al-Hijri launched a series of attacks on villages in western Sweida this week, using heavy and medium weaponry as well as mortar shells, according to state media and local sources. The Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) reported that the village of Tal Hadid was among the targets, with the assault resulting in the deaths of two individuals, one from the Internal Security Forces and another civilian from Sweida. The escalation comes despite ongoing efforts by the Syrian government to restore order and initiate a national reconciliation process in the province. Authorities accuse these groups of obstructing de-escalation initiatives and pushing separatist agendas that do not align with the will of the majority in Sweida. Officials say the groups have created a climate of fear, suppressing dissent and attempting to dominate local discourse through force. One notable incident on July 31 involved the armed robbery of the Syrian Commercial Bank in Shahba, where attackers stole government funds meant for the salaries of public employees and retirees, severely disrupting salary disbursement. In response, Sheikh Laith al-Balaous, speaking on behalf of the prominent local initiative "Madafat al-Karama", emphasized the province's commitment to Syrian unity and sovereignty. He also criticized Hijri's recent decision to block ministerial delegations from entering the province, calling it a significant barrier to progress on both humanitarian and security fronts. Tensions in Sweida have been steadily rising. Last month, clashes between groups and Bedouin tribes led to multiple deaths and mass civilian displacement. While Syrian army units briefly entered the city to confront the violence, they withdrew on July 16 following a ceasefire agreement negotiated with Druze religious leaders. Interior Ministry forces have since redeployed as part of the truce's first phase. This phase includes halting tribal fighting, releasing detainees, and working toward restoring stability. Despite these steps, renewed violence suggests the road to peace in Sweida remains fraught with obstacles.

Israeli Airstrikes Target Syrian Forces and Tribal Militants in Sweida - Jordan News
Israeli fighter jets launched airstrikes early Wednesday targeting the vicinity of Al-Thaala village and several other locations in the Sweida countryside, according to Syrian sources and eyewitnesses. اضافة اعلان Syrian outlet Sham TV reported via Facebook that: 'Israeli occupation aircraft conducted strikes around Al-Thaala and a number of villages in western Sweida, targeting gatherings of forces affiliated with the Ministry of Defense and tribal militants.' The channel noted that the Israeli jets also struck areas near the town of Rimat Hazem, hitting military groupings and Bedouin tribal fighters. Activists and witnesses reported intense activity of Israeli helicopters flying over southern Syria during the attacks. Meanwhile, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights stated that Israeli drones carried out airstrikes targeting gatherings and vehicles belonging to Bedouin fighters and pro-defense ministry forces. According to the Observatory's statement, the strikes occurred while these forces were carrying out demolitions of buildings near Al-Thaala in western Sweida. These developments come amid unprecedented security tensions in Sweida province, marked by hit-and-run clashes and confrontations between Druze fighters and tribal armed groups, accompanied by the presence of warplanes and drones in the skies.
