The Spice Girls burst onto the scene in 1996 with five fresh faced young women all hoping to become stars.
Along with Geri and Mel, the band was formed of Emma Bunton, Victoria Beckham (formerly Adams) and Mel C.
With nicknames like Ginger, Scary, Baby, Posh and Sporty they were an instant hit after releasing the very catchy tune, Wannabe.
They were immediately catapulted into superstardom, and soon became household names around the world thanks to songs like Too Much and 2 Become 1.
But behind-the-scenes, the band was often plagued by reports of "in-fighting" and "creative differences" - mainly between the girl group's feistiest members, Geri and Mel.
Here we take a look at Ginger and Scary's relationship and how it's played out over the years.
GERI LEAVES THE SPICE GIRLS
In 1998, just two years after the Spice Girls had been propelled to international stardom with Wannabe, Geri announced she was leaving the band.
At the time, she said she was quitting because of 'creative differences' and also impact of being in the supergroup was having on her mental health.
Writing in her 2002 memoir Just For The Record, Geri said: 'One thing that was clear at the time I decided to leave was that inside Ginger Spice, underneath the make-up, the big hair, the giant platforms and the headline-grabbing dresses, there was a real girl and she was being suffocated."
The news of Geri leaving the band on the eve of their US tour starting, hit the other Spice Girls hard - especially Mel.

Previously speaking on Loose Women, Scary Spice candidly said: "When Geri left the group, it was bad.
"She left on my birthday and didn't tell anybody.
"She didn't show up. We had the American part of the tour to continue."
Elaborating further on the impact Geri's sudden Spice Girls departure had on her, Mel told Piers Morgan's Life Stories: 'It bothers me because we're so solid and we know each other inside out, us five girls.

'We would take a bullet for each other.
"So it was devastating to me that she felt so bad about herself and her situation that the only way out was just to leave and not talk.
'I still remind her of it. She was round yesterday and I said to her, 'Why did you leave? Really, why did you leave?''
During the Spice Girls mini reunion in 2019, Geri admitted that she regretted leaving the group.
Speaking on stage, she told fans: 'I'm sorry. I'm sorry I left. I was just being a brat.
"I want to say it's just so good to be back with the girls that I love."
CREATIVE DIFFERENCES
Being the loudest members of the Spice Girls, there were always rumblings of creative differences between Geri and Mel.
This appeared to come to a head during the 2019 reunion.
According to sources, the pair began bickering about the creative direction of the tour, right from the outset.
Mel reportedly wanted to re-market herself as a "more sexy and edgy star", while Geri wanted the band to head into a more "wholesome" direction.
Before the tour kicked off an insider told The Sun: "The gigs will go ahead whatever happens, but those two couldn't be more divided and both see themselves as the boss.
"Everyone involved is braced for some epic arguments once they're back together.'

'NIGHT OF PASSION'
It could be said that Mel and Geri's relationship never truly recovered after Scary's claims that they had once had a "night of passion" together.
The bombshell claim came during Mel's interview on Piers Morgan's Life Stories in 2019.
Before this time, there had never been any mention of a "romp" between the two women.
But pressed by host Piers, she admitted: 'She (Geri) is going to hate me for this because she is all posh in her country house and her husband, but it's a fact.
'It just happened and we just giggled at it and that was it.
'We were best friends. Have you ever done that?' And she added of Geri: 'She had great boobs.'
Piers asked: 'So just once?' Mel replied: 'Yeah.'
Triumphant Piers added: 'This is a bombshell. A Spice Girls bombshell. You have never admitted this before have you? People are going to be fascinated.'
Mel said: 'Yeah and I have said it now. All done. She is going to kill me and so is her husband.'
She added: 'Hopefully when Geri gets asked that, which hopefully she will after this, she won't deny it, because it was just a thing, a fun thing.'

Speaking to Aussie radio station 2Day shortly after she made the claim about herself and Geri, Mel said: "I couldn't even speak to your producer earlier because I was on the phone with Geri.
"I did the interview, but I just texted her and said: 'I admitted on Piers that we had a little bit of a thing but don't worry about it, it was all tongue in cheek and I didn't go into detail.'
"'I said: 'This was pre your husband, pre your baby, pre one of my babies. It's fine.' I don't know why everyone's making such a big deal about it."
She added: "We had a long conversation. She texted me the night of [the interview] and then we spoke at length today - amongst other things cos we're getting ready for tour right now."
However, Geri reportedly was fuming with Mel, with her spokesperson stating at the time that the claim was 'simply not true' and 'very hurtful' to Ginger's family.
Geri's husband Christian Horner was also said to be 'mortified' by the claims.

SKIPPING WEDDING
Now rumours of a "reignited feud" between Ginger and Scary have remerged after Geri skipped Mel's wedding.
She hasn't given a reason why she was not at the ceremony last month, which saw Mel wed Rory McPhee.
It should be noted that she wasn't the only Spicey to miss the wedding, in fact, Emma Bunton was the only one who could make it.
However, what was different with Geri was she completely ghosted the whole event, and unlike the other Spice Girls, failed to congratulate Mel on social media.
The silence was deafening with reports of a "feud" between the pair emerging once again.
All eyes were then on Geri to see if she would be at Mel's second wedding to Rory last weekend in Morocco.
Sadly, Spice Girls fans were left disappointed as Ginger was a no show once again.

You can mute – but you can never leave. Why have WhatsApp groups become so stressful?
It's the new last taboo. Officially added to the list of topics you absolutely must not discuss, along with politics, money and religion: the WhatsApp side group. Apparently nobody told Melanie C from the Spice Girls though, because she has just revealed far too much about theirs. 'There are subgroups within the group,' she told the Sydney Morning Herald's Sunday Life magazine. 'I definitely know there is a chat group that doesn't contain me, but somewhere else we keep Ginger or Posh out.' Staying up to date with your side chats – not least ensuring each message you send doesn't go on the wrong thread – is the most anxiety-ridden full-time job most of us have ever had. A friend of mine has a group with five mums from her daughter's class, and another whittled down to four of them, then more with three, two and one. How she keeps track without the use of a murder investigation board with red strings pinned to photographs is genuinely a mystery. The latest data tells us what we already knew: WhatsApp is the most popular messaging app in the world with more than 3 billion monthly active users. I think at this point I'm in a group with all of them. There's no faster, easier, more convenient way of staying in touch and making arrangements – and that's the problem. It's so quick and simple to set up a group that any social situation including more than two participants seems to result in one being formed. Often the conversation goes on, whether out of desire or politeness, long after the event has passed. This method of interacting can lead you down some ludicrous avenues, such as the recent debate I found myself in about whether 'hearting' an invitation means you're simply thanking the person for their kind offer or formally accepting it in a legally binding manner. (For the record, it's the former, right?) Complicating matters further is that we're not only in groups with our mates, but also those we know only barely, or sometimes not at all. I'm on a local WhatsApp group, formed to support quarantining neighbours in 2020, that's now a forum for questions that could have been Googled, passive-aggressive comments, and generous offers of free furniture people can't be bothered to take to the tip. It's filled with characters I've mostly never met but feel intimately acquainted with, and I have several side groups with friends on my road discussing the more controversial posts. Even the profile picture is divisive – one member's cat, Daisy, who half the street love and enjoy sharing sightings of, and the other half (secretly) hate because she defecates on their doorsteps. Recently a newcomer who'd left his back door open in the hot weather reported that Daisy had strolled into his house and started eating his dinner, with photographs to prove it. My phone got so hot through side-chat action I was worried it might explode. Worth it. It's fast becoming second nature to double check that each message is being put on the correct thread before posting, like the modern equivalent of the adage 'measure twice because you can only cut once'. Deleting, even if you're so lightning quick nobody had yet read it, leaves a notification that's such a clear admission of guilt you may as well have not bothered. Imagine what everyone would be saying in the side chats about you then! I took a vow of silence on our school chat when a fellow mum's husband read ours over her shoulder and observed sagely: 'No one comes out of this looking good, do they?' Legend has it that another class has a note pinned to the top of their group with the rules that must be abided by within, including, 'No LOLs.' The author's ears must have been warmer than my phone the day she typed that. And anyway, there's only one real law when it comes to WhatsApp groups and subgroups – muting the thread is fine, but actually exiting is not the done thing. Whatever you preface your farewell with, those you leave behind will get the message '*Your name* has left the group', with all the hair flicking and flouncing out that implies. Etiquette-wise, it's a no. You've made/been added without consent to your WhatsApp bed, and now you will lie in it for the rest of your life. A la the Hotel California, you can check out any time you like, but you can never leave. Do you have an opinion on the issues raised in this article? Kate Garraway thanks 'gallant stranger' for selfless act as she enjoys Oasis gig
Kate Garraway took her children to see Oasis last week and says she had a wonderful time reliving her youth, and thanked the stranger for lifting her up onto his shoulders Former Good Morning Britain presenter Kate Garraway relived her youth at Oasis' Wembley Stadium gig as she was spotted in the crowd enjoying the show from a strangers shoulders. The brothers announced their comeback tour in August 2024, with them sharing the news on social media and saying: 'This is it, this is happening. The guns have fallen silent. The stars have aligned. The great wait is over. Come see. It will not be televised.' This tour is the first time Liam and Noel have performed together in 15 years, following their highly-publicised fall-out which led to them icing each other out of their lives. Tickets have been selling out within minutes and thousands of fans have been descending on each city to see the much-loved duo. It comes after reports of Victoria Beckham's four-word comment to Geri Horner amid Spice Girls 'feud'. Kate, 58, took her children to the Wembley Stadium gig last week and it seems she had a wonderful time reliving her youth. She danced the night away but took things a step further and decided to watch the brothers' epic performance in London from the height of a stranger's shoulders. In an Instagram post Kate thanked the "gallant stranger" for lifting her up onto his shoulders. Sharing an Instagram post to mark the occasion she even posed for a selfie with him. She captioned the post: "For all those catching the @oasis lads #murrayfield tonight you are in for the time of your life . This was us last week at Wembley - loving every second of it . Special mention has to go to the gallant stranger ( bottom right) who hauled me onto his shoulders for #champagnesupernova to relive my 20's at #knebworth 96. I can only assume he didn't realise a) I'm heavier than I look & b) how long that song actually is !!! Do hope he's not spent all week at the chiropractor but eternally grateful!" One follower commented: "It is so lovely to see you enjoying life and smiling again enjoy every moment you deserve it," another wrote: "Go on Girl!! Hope you had a supersonic time!!!!" A third wrote: "ou and your family deserve to be happy and enjoying through all you have been through." Some fans compared the man to Gareth Southgate, one wrote: "Haha! Looks like Sir Gareth Southgate had you on his shoulders," another said: "He could be Gareth Southgate's long lost brother." Oasis will continue their shows in Edinburgh on Tuesday (12 August) before heading to Ireland to play two shows at Croke Park in Dublin on 16 and 17 August. Liam and Noel, 58, will then travel to Canada and America for shows in Toronto, Chicago, LA and Mexico City before coming back to London for two more big gigs at Wembley towards the end of September. The brothers will follow up their action-packed schedule with Asia, Australia and South America before ending their comeback tour on 23 November in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
