In a world where there are countless beauty products dropping every other week it can be hard to keep up.
But, we are here to help you sift through and find the absolute best beauty buys. One of which is P. Louise's Rumour Base, which is a multi-purpose product that is flying off the shelves.
According to the brand, one tube of the Rumour Base is sold every minute, which is quite something.
So what is all the hype?
This base is not only suitable for use on the delicate eye area, but the rest of the face too. It is ultra pigmented and a little goes a long way. Simply sweep on the eyelid as an eyeshadow primer, under the eye as a primer before concealer, or colour match to apply as a concealer itself. It also doubles as a foundation, though you can loosen the texture with a moisturiser to apply as a lightweight tinted moisturiser. Alternatively, apply on specific areas of the face as a contour or highlighter. Available in 12 shades, including a clear option, all of which come in either a 15ml or 30ml tube. BUY NOW FOR £10
The Rumour Base is not only super affordable, but when you consider how many products it is in one it makes for an even more cost effective beauty purchase.
P. Louise's Rumour Base initially functioned as an eye primer to prevent creases under the eye after layering concealer or foundation, as well as an eyeshadow primer. However, it can be used in numerous other ways.
The P. Louise Rumour Base is available in 12 shades, including a clear option to blend seamlessly into the skin. Considering it is a gentle product to use on the eye area and the fact it's available in numerous shades means you can also apply all over the face as a primer or foundation too.
Apply the clear option on the eyes, as well as full face for a primer, alternatively find the perfect skin tone match to wear under the eyes or buffed all over the skin like a full-coverage foundation for a flawless complexion. If you prefer a tinted moisturiser, simply blend with a moisturiser and buff into the skin to loosen the consistency.
While it can be used as a skin base, the Rumour Base can also be relied on as a contour, bronzer and highlighter simply by blending a slightly brighter or deeper shade along the highpoints of the face.
The beauty of the Rumour Base is it is ultra-pigmented for full coverage, though it can be sheered down with a moisturiser if you prefer a lightweight texture and second-skin finish.
The cream formula is also long wearing so you can be sure your make-up will stay in place for hours of wear without creasing or catching in the pores.
The Rumour Base comes in two sizes, a miniature 15ml and 30ml version, so you can take it on the go.
With over 1,200 reviews it's safe to say this versatile product is a hit with shoppers. More Trending
One customer, Aleksandra, shared: 'Perfect base, doesn't crease. I am absolutely in love with it.'
A second shopper, named Mackenzie, added: 'This is THE BEST eyeshadow primer I have ever used. I am never going to use another primer ever again. It sits so smoothly and it's never drying. 10000/10. I love it.'
While another gushed: 'As a make-up artist, your brand is my favorite to use! I haven't found another that compares!'
So if you are whittling down your beauty kit, this product that doubles up as many other essentials for just £10 at P. Louise, just makes sense.

Which Strictly pros are competing this year after Gorka Márquez news?

To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Strictly Come Dancing fans have been left devastated after Gorka Márquez's announcement that he will not be partnered with a celebrity for the upcoming 2025 series. The popular reality series has been plagued by scandals in recent years after Giovanni Pernice, 34, found himself at the heart of a bullying scandal following a series of allegations made by former dance partner Amanda Abbington. Meanwhile, Graziano Di Prima, 30, also left Strictly after allegations of 'physical incidents' during his training with Zara McDermott, 28. Now, Spanish dancer Márquez has revealed he will be unable to compete despite being previously being part of the official line up back in April. He said he will be able to take part in the first few weeks of Strictly but will then have to leave in October. To find out more about this series, Metro has taken a deeper look at Strictly Come Dancing 2025. Fans can expect to see their favourite professional dancers return for the upcoming series. But replacing the outgoing Di Prima and Pernice will be Alexis Warr and Julian Caillonwhen the show returns this autumn. Warr, 25, is best known for winning the US dance series So You Think You Can Dance in 2022. She also became the first female ballroom and Latin dancer to be crowned America's Favourite Dancer. Professionals confirmed to be returning to the BBC show in the upcoming season include: Dianne Buswell Nadiya Bychkova Amy Dowden Karen Hauer Katya Jones Neil Jones Nikita Kuzmin Gorka Marquez Luba Mushtuk Jowita Przystal Johannes Radebe Aljaž Škorjanec Kai Widdrington Nancy Xu Carlos Gu Lauren Oakley Michelle Tsiakkas Vito Coppola It isn't her first shimmy with Strictly as the dancer appeared on the US version of the show as a guest professional dancer, and has also appeared on Dancing With The Stars, America's Got Talent, and World of Dance. Speaking about joining the show, Warr said she has 'admired Strictly for years.' 'Joining this incredible family is such an honour,' she continued. 'I can't wait to step into the ballroom, pour my heart into every moment, and share my love of dance with the UK.' Caillon appeared on three seasons of Australia's Dancing With The Stars and also starred in So You Think You Can Dance Australia. Alongside his dance career, he has also worked as a personal trainer and exercise physiologist. He said that joining the show was 'a dream come true.' 'I've watched it for years, especially cheering on all the amazing dancers I know and work with who've been part of it,' he said in a statement. I can't wait to get stuck in, have some fun, and be part of something special!' Marquez, who has become one of the most loved professionals on the show, will not be able to compete despite being previously announced as part of the official line up back in April. The dancer revealed he will be totally absent for up to four weeks as the show is set to launch in September because he is appearing as a judge on the Spanish version of the competition, Bailando Con Las Estrellas, in October. The 34-year-old said he will remain a part of the weekly ensemble routine, performed by all of the professionals, in the first few episodes. However, he will then be leaving to film in Spain before returning to the weekly dance group in the final stretch. Taking to X, Marquez wrote: 'Due to the filming dates, this means that I won't be competing with a partner this year in Strictly but I will be a part of lots of the group numbers and will be back for final weeks of the show to support the rest of my fellow pros and their celebrities in what is going to be an AMAZING SERIES.' Discussing Alexis and Callion, Sarah James, executive producer at BBC Studios, said: 'We've been big fans of Alexis and Julian for some time so it's with great excitement that we now welcome them both to the Strictly family. 'They're two incredible dancers with bright futures ahead of them, and we know viewers are going to love getting to know them both.' Additionally, Kalpna Patel-Knight, Head of Entertainment, said the duo were 'perfect additions' to the cast. More Trending 'Alexis and Julian are the perfect additions to Strictly, and we can't wait for you to see them light up the ballroom this autumn,' she said. 'With our fantastic professional dancers plus everything else we love about Strictly, the new series promises to be bigger, better and even more glitter-packed than ever before.' The ‘three-hour night' rule could be a gamechanger for your relationship

Coming home from work, you kiss your partner hello, crash out on the sofa until you muster the energy to cook dinner, and then mindlessly watch TV until it's time for bed. Repeating this same routine on a cycle, you might realise at the end of most evenings together that you've barely caught up with one another. It's doing little for your connection. For one woman, the so-called 'three-hour night' rule is the antidote to this modern-day relationship dilemma – and it's been a complete 'gamechanger' for her marriage. Rachel Higgins and her husband decided that it was time to curate a new evening routine when they realised that after putting their daughter to bed at around 7pm, they would typically sit on the sofa and scroll on their phones. Splitting the remaining three hours of the day into three sections, Rachel explains in a TikTok that the first is a 'productive hour.' 'We start with a quick clean up of the kitchen or things that have accumulated throughout the day, and then we try to do something that's been put off,' she tells her 21,000 followers. Next, it's an hour dedicated solely to their marriage. The key element of this is putting their phones 'down and away' and spending quality time together. This involves things like 'taking a shower together, having fun together, playing a game together, anything that's going to get you guys talking and connecting, debriefing from the day. Anything that's going to connect, strengthen and build your marriage.' X Factor icon Diana Vickers and Metro's dating expert Alice Giddings dive into your wildest sex, love, and dating dilemmas – every Tuesday. Listen wherever you get your podcasts or watch on YouTube. And be sure to follow and subscribe so you never miss an episode. You can also join the fun on our WhatsApp Group Chat here – share your dilemmas and Diana and Alice may just give you a call. Finally, the last hour is one to spend completely by yourself, whether for self-care or otherwise – an element that's often forgotten in relationships. 'This is a time where you can do whatever you want for yourself without judgment. I'm usually reading a book or colouring,' Rachel adds. In the comments, countless followers – many of them also being parents – applauded the approach, with @rachyd6 likening it to a 'closing shift.' @JWoCATX95 reckoned it was equally beneficial for 'us empty nesters too, [as] the phone scrolling is outta control,' while @katiedemasi came up with her own approach, as though she couldn't commit to three hours, she loved the idea of trying 30-30-30. 'I feel like that hour to myself would have to be first on that list. I'd need to decompress before being productive or having fun with my husband lol,' @savagetheoriginal joked. As relationship expert Claire Renier explains, it can take us back down to earth amid the chaos of the modern world, whether you have children or not. Technology is all-encompassing, phubbing can swallow up communication in relationships, and all the while, the dishes piling up don't help to diffuse any tension. In fact, one 2025 study found that 1 in 10 Brits have actually broken up with a partner because they felt third-wheeled by their phone. The impact almost doubles for Gen Z, at 19% of 16-24-year-olds. It's not always just about household tasks not getting done either, but about the 'emotional weight of feeling unsupported or overwhelmed' – which is where the three-hour rule comes in. 'It can be incredibly tempting to just sit down and scroll at the end of a long day, no matter how much you wanted to dedicate time to other things such as self-care or even time together with your partner,' Claire tells Metro. 'With this in mind, creating a structured plan or routine can help you prioritise different important elements. Carving out dedicated time for productive things like household chores or life admin, time together, and self-care can really help things feel more manageable.' Being so intentional about dividing your time can also help to strengthen your communication skills, reduce friction and allow all partners to be more present, and in Claire's view, this only 'rebalances both your schedules and emotional connection.' However, Claire does emphasise the importance of flexibility, particularly if you've got children. Sometimes, dedicating exactly one hour to each phase of the activity isn't feasible – and in her view, a little bit of room for movement is a 'cornerstone of all relationships.' 'I'd recommend adapting the rule to fit your circumstances – whether this is spending an equal but reduced amount of time for each section or alternating how long you spend on each activity each evening to match your needs that day,' she adds. And while spending quality time together gathers headlines in a relationship, sometimes, the most important thing you can do in allowing it to blossom is taking intentional time out for self-care. More Trending As Claire says, all relationship dynamics are different, but it can be difficult to 'feel entirely present or even happy in a relationship if you haven't had the time just to focus on yourself.' She advises: 'Keeping aside specific moments of time to look after yourself and do the things that you enjoy as an individual can help you to feel happier and more refreshed – which can also help you put your best foot forward to be present in your relationship.' 'It's also all too easy for quality time with your partner to slip down the priority list. By actively blocking out moments for each other, you are sending a clear signal that your connection matters. Fortune Hotel star reveals shocking exit truth after fans say they're ‘hooked'

Fans of the ITV show are 'obsessed' (Picture: ITV/Tuesday's Child/Si Johns/Rex Features/Shutterstock) Warning: spoilers ahead for the latest episode of The Fortune Hotel. The Fortune Hotel kicked off this week with series 2 on ITV – and it's safe to say that viewers are well and truly hooked. In last night's second episode, there were two shocking eliminations. First, father and son duo John and Atholl were sent home after being handed the early checkout card, and then, at the end, brothers Jake and Mike became the next casualties. Metro spoke to both of the latest eliminated pairings, and one of them dropped an unexpected bombshell about how their exit came about… a revelation that they didn't even discover until months after they'd filmed. The first episode of the new series ended in an excruciating cliffhanger, as couple Nella, 31, and Tope, 34, had the power to give another pair the early checkout card. In the end, it was handed to Atholl, 30, and dad John, 58, with the former revealing that it wasn't until months after production had ended that he learnt that fellow contestant James was the reason they'd been booted out. Atholl and John were seen as strong contenders before they were sent home (Picture: ITV/Tuesdays Child/Si Johns/Rex Features/Shutterstock) To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Up Next Previous Page Next Page 'It doesn't come across on TV, but when you're actually in The Lady Luck bar, it's so hard to hear,' he explained. 'We were on one side, I could hear what Min and Fred, Guv and Gurks, Maz and Max, and Jeremy and Sue were saying. Anyone else on the other side, I could not hear diddly squat.' Atholl outlined how, for months after their elimination, they thought that the reason they were sent home was simply because Nella and Tope just wanted to 'get rid of us'. 'It wasn't till we actually got to watch it back, and we were like, oh my god, because James said what he said!' he added. New here? Sign up for Metro's TV newsletter Hiya! At the start of the season, it appeared as though Atholl and John could be strong contenders, and the latter revealed how they would have played the game if they'd remained in the competition. 'As the game goes on, there'll be alliances coming together,' he said. 'I think if we had managed to get through that round, I would have maybe tried to get an alliance with a parent, because you're sometimes better as a double team until it gets near the end.' As for Jake, 29, and Mike, 33, they've had a fascinating journey on The Fortune Hotel, as they found themselves secretly holding the £250,000 fortune in just the first episode. However, in order to avoid any suspicion coming their way, they had to give the money away by swapping their briefcase with another pair. Jake and Mike were also sent home in episode two (Picture: ITV/Tuesdays Child/Si Johns/Rex Features/Shutterstock) Speaking to Metro, Mike admitted that in a moment that wasn't shown on TV, he actually considered sticking with their briefcase rather than swapping with anyone else. But this would have surely been a huge giveaway that they held the fortune. 'Mike was going, 'Stick, stick, stick.' And I was whacking his leg, going, 'Definitely not', because obviously the cards could have come to us,' Jake recalled, emphasising the fear they had that someone else would give them the early checkout card. 'We did the right thing,' Mike acknowledged, as Jake continued: 'In that scenario, because the card had gone in front of us, we knew if we stopped, we could have gone there and then. So we had to get rid of it.' Nonetheless, they admitted that they did go wrong elsewhere by giving the early checkout card to Fred, 60, and Min, 59, as the couple were then able to hand the card on to another pair, rather than being eliminated themselves. Who's going to end up taking home the prize money in the end? (Picture: ITV/Tuesdays Child/Si Johns/Rex Features/Shutterstock) 'We messed up giving the card to Fred and Min, because we didn't think, 'where's the card gonna go'. We just thought, we'll be fair, chuck it to the back of the line. Obviously we just didn't think,' Mike said, after Fred and Min came last in the first challenge of the series. Over the past few nights, fans of the ITV show have been singing its praises, with Mitchell tweeting on Thursday: 'Another great episode I'm completely addicted!!' 'LOVE The Fortune Hotel,' Natasha wrote, while Dylan remarked: 'I wasn't sold on #TheFortuneHotel first series but I'm enjoying this second series a lot more!!' Thomas admitted that he 'can't wait for next week' after a 'fantastic episode', while Luke hailed it as 'the best reality TV show on the tele'. The Fortune Hotel returns next Wednesday at 9pm on ITV1 and is available to stream on ITVX. Got a story?
