This means that developers on any plan have the same AI assistance in both their terminal and their IDE, as per the report. Code Assist utilises agent mode to author tests, debug problems, create features, and even work on complicated things like code migration, according to the blog.
Google said, "Based on your prompt, Code Assist's agent will build a multi-step plan, auto-recover from failed implementation paths and recommend solutions you may not have even imagined."
3. Total AI power in your terminal
The CLI will streamline a developer's workflow in natural language that allows the user to code, debug, work with files, and execute commands, as per Google's blog post.
The tech giant said that the Gemini CLI provides powerful AI capabilities, which include, ground prompts with Google Search, extend Gemini CLI's capabilities, customize prompts and instructions and automate tasks and integrate with existing workflows.

MSEDCL hikes tariffs by up to 3% for 100+unit users
Mumbai: The Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission (MERC) has come out with the tariff orders for state power utility firm MSEDCL which shows a marginal increase in tariff from 0.5 to 3% for low and high-end residential consumers having monthly electricity consumption over 100 units. No data with MCG on 34 defaulters with 97cr tax dues
Gurgaon: An audit of the MCG joint commissioner's office found that the corporation has no records of 34 property owners who have not paid taxes amounting to nearly Rs 97.2 crore. Without the details of the owners, there is little action that the corporation can take to collect this property tax, the principal accountant general pointed out in the report for the audit carried out this Feb. "In the absence of the names of the property owners, chances of serving notices and initiating legal action to such property owners were negligible. There might be very bleak chances of recovery of outstanding property tax from these properties," the report said. It added that "considering the financial interest of MCG", authorities should take up the matter with revenue officials for identifying the property owners. MCG, the report said, had "failed to take action" to recover taxes from defaulters, leading to accumulation of dues. ONGC clears major hurdle in Sivasagar blowout control effort
Dibrugarh: Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) on Wednesday achieved a critical milestone in its effort to control the ongoing blowout at the Rudrasagar well in Sivasagar, which has been spewing gas uncontrollably for 14 days since the incident began on June 12. In a step forward, an extra-long boom crane and a 40-tonne crane worked in tandem to remove 42 tubing stands from the derrick, clearing the way for the safe extraction of the rig base from the wellhead. With the rig base now removed, ONGC will proceed to dismantle the blowout preventer and install a capping stack — a vital phase in sealing the well. The company cautioned that gas discharge may temporarily intensify during this step, but reassured the public that the emissions are non-toxic, with volumes significantly reduced and posing no threat beyond a 500-metre radius. In a statement, ONGC said the operation is being executed with utmost precision and layered safety protocols, including continuous water blanketing to suppress gas emissions.
