Guy Ritchie Crime Drama Starring Tom Hardy, Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren Sets Title and Premiere Date at Paramount+
Paramount+ has booked a springtime trip to MobLand.
The Guy Ritchie crime drama, headlined by Tom Hardy (Peaky Blinders), Pierce Brosnan (Remington Steele) and Helen Mirren (1923), will premiere Sunday, March 30. A trailer has not yet been released.

The series has previously been described as 'an electrifying global crime series centered around two warring families based in London whose enterprises stretch all corners of the globe, and the fiercely loyal fixer charged with protecting one of them at all costs.' Hardy plays Harry Da Souza, a professional conciliator on behalf of the Harrigan family.
Brosnan, in turn, will play Conrad Harrigan, the head of said crime family based out of London for whom Harry works, while Mirren will fill the role of Maeve Harrigan, Conrad's wife and the Harrigan family matriarch.
Rounding out the ensemble are Paddy Considine (House of the Dragon), Joanne Froggatt (Downton Abbey), Lara Pulver (Da Vinci's Demons), Anson Boon (Pistol), Mandeep Dhillon (CSI: Vegas), Jasmine Jobson (Top Boy), Geoff Bell (Top Boy), Daniel Betts (Fate: The Winx Saga), Lisa Dwan (Blackshore) and Emily Barber (Industry).

Paramount Plus renews crime series starring Tom Hardy for a season 2 after the show becomes their second most-watched show ever with over 26 million viewers

Tom Hardy will continue to play the brutally effective fixer Harry Da Souza in Paramount Plus' MobLand, as the series has just been renewed for a second season. The streamer reports that 26 million viewers have watched the show since it was released on March 30, making it the second most-watched original series on the service. The series, created by Top Boy's Ronan Bennett and executive produced by Guy Ritchie, follows Hardy's resourceful fixer as he is caught up in a mafia war between London's top crime families. Per the official synopsis, the series "showcases two generations of gangsters, their businesses, the relationships they weave and the man they call to fix their problems." Along with Hardy, MobLand stars Oscar winner Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan, House of the Dragon star Paddy Considine, and Downton Abbey's Joanne Froggatt. Initially conceived as a prequel series for the hit drama Ray Donovan, MobLand has now become one of Paramount Plus' top shows, with a solid viewership and a 75% Rotten Tomatoes score. According to the streamer, the show spent five consecutive weeks in Nielsen's ranking of Top 10 SVOD Original Series. "With over 26 million viewers and climbing, MobLand has become a resounding triumph driven by the creative brilliance of [producers] Guy [Ritchie], Jez [Butterworth], Ronan [Bennett] and David C. Glasser, and brought to life by the powerhouse performances by Tom, Pierce, and Helen," said co-CEO of Paramount and president of Showtime/MTV Entertainment, Chris McCarthy, in a statement. "We are elated to greenlight a second season of this global phenomenon, which has dominated both domestic and international charts and soared to #1 in the United Kingdom," he added. Many coming-of-age movies rightfully center on those usually awkward, sometimes painfully relatable transitions between adolescence and adulthood. But some of the genre's best big-screen examples extend that growing-pains period to a character's 20s and 30s, showing that becoming who you will be doesn't come easy, no matter your age. "The Worst Person in the World", a 2021 Norwegian stunner by director-writer Joachim Trier that centers on a 30-year-old woman struggling to find her direction in life, falls beautifully in the latter camp — and it's now available to stream for free on Tubi. The acclaimed modern-day dramedy is just one title among the streaming service's ever-changing lineup, which, thanks to ad support, boasts 20,000 free TV shows and movies from studios including Paramount, MGM and Lionsgate and networks including A&E, Lifetime and Starz. Those few commercial breaks mean that, unlike other platforms like Netflix, Tubi doesn't need to charge you for your next movie marathon. The third installment of Joachim Trier's "Oslo" trilogy — which also includes 2006's "Reprise" and 2011's "Oslo, August 31st" — "The Worst Person in the World" sees Renate Reinsve in a Cannes Best Actress Award-winning turn as Julie, a medical student on the brink of 30 who's navigating both professional changes (her career path transitions from medicine to psychology and later photography) and personal switch-ups. Julie has been in a relationship with Aksel Willman (played by Anders Danielsen Lie, the only actor to appear in all three of Trier's "Oslo" dramas), a comic artist 15 years her senior. However, an unexpected encounter with an intriguing barista named Eivind (Herbert Nordrum) at a wedding reception makes her unsure about her future with Aksel. Told across four years of Julie's life — in a novelistic format of "chapters", with both a prologue and epilogue — "The Worst Person in the World" follows the young woman as she battles indecision both in her heart and her career, often to humorous and heart-shattering effect. Rather, Reinsve's heroine feels resonantly stuck and dissatisfied at every turn, a generational moodiness that's handled hilariously but also movingly throughout the film. ("You seem to be waiting for something. I don't know what,' Aksel tells her at one point.) Publications including Vanity Fair and The Atlantic declared "The Worst Person in the World" the best film of 2021, and we'd be hard-pressed to disagree. It's an achingly exquisite watch, at turns devastatingly funny and just plain devastating. Julie might think she deserves the harshness of the film's title, but Trier's instant-classic treats her messy struggles to find her place in the world with something that looks a lot like grace.
