Tom Hardy will continue to play the brutally effective fixer Harry Da Souza in Paramount Plus' MobLand, as the series has just been renewed for a second season. The streamer reports that 26 million viewers have watched the show since it was released on March 30, making it the second most-watched original series on the service.
The series, created by Top Boy's Ronan Bennett and executive produced by Guy Ritchie, follows Hardy's resourceful fixer as he is caught up in a mafia war between London's top crime families. Per the official synopsis, the series "showcases two generations of gangsters, their businesses, the relationships they weave and the man they call to fix their problems."
Along with Hardy, MobLand stars Oscar winner Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan, House of the Dragon star Paddy Considine, and Downton Abbey's Joanne Froggatt.
Initially conceived as a prequel series for the hit drama Ray Donovan, MobLand has now become one of Paramount Plus' top shows, with a solid viewership and a 75% Rotten Tomatoes score. According to the streamer, the show spent five consecutive weeks in Nielsen's ranking of Top 10 SVOD Original Series.
"With over 26 million viewers and climbing, MobLand has become a resounding triumph driven by the creative brilliance of [producers] Guy [Ritchie], Jez [Butterworth], Ronan [Bennett] and David C. Glasser, and brought to life by the powerhouse performances by Tom, Pierce, and Helen," said co-CEO of Paramount and president of Showtime/MTV Entertainment, Chris McCarthy, in a statement.
"We are elated to greenlight a second season of this global phenomenon, which has dominated both domestic and international charts and soared to #1 in the United Kingdom," he added.

Netflix just lost 'Dexter' at the worst time — here's where you can stream it before 'Resurrection'
Even though Netflix didn't include "Dexter" on its list of what's leaving the streaming service this month, Showtime's hit crime drama has been quietly removed from the service (in the U.S). The much-loved series revolves around Michael C. Hall's titular vigilante serial killer, and originally ran for 96 episodes across 8 seasons between 2006 and 2013. Since then, it's endured in the streaming era as a bingeable fave, but disappeared from Netflix U.S on Thursday, June 19, precisely one year after it came to the streamer. While the series remains available in the U.K. (as of the time of writing), anyone mid-watch in the United States will now need to sign up for Paramount Plus if they want to continue watching. This change couldn't have come at a worse time, really, as longtime "Dexter" fans who might've been rewatching the original show on Netflix in time for "Dexter: Resurrection" will now have to switch services to do so. If you don't yet have a Paramount Plus subscription, now's the time to get one: "Dexter: Resurrection" is due to premiere there on Friday, July 11. To be clear, the original "Dexter" series is only available on the ad-supported Paramount Plus Essential plan ($7.99/month), but if you're hoping to dive into the new spin-off, you'll need access to Paramount Plus Premium (formerly Paramount Plus with Showtime). Get instant access to breaking news, the hottest reviews, great deals and helpful tips. Paramount Plus Premium costs $12.99/month. In addition to eliminating ads (except in live TV streaming), that extra $5/month nets you several other benefits. Premium customers can also download select shows and movies, stream local CBS channels, and, of course, get access to Showtime original programming, plus everything available on the cheaper tier. Taking place weeks after the previous sequel series, "Dexter: New Blood," finds Dexter Morgan waking up from a coma and heading to New York City in pursuit of his son, Harrison (Jack Alcott). He's determined to find Harrison and make things right... Though Dexter soon realizes that his past is catching up to him, fast, forcing the pair to navigate the darkness together. Check out the trailer below: If you've never seen an episode of "Dexter" before, there's an easy way to see whether you'd like it: Showtime previously uploaded the very first episode of the original series to YouTube, so you can see what's in store without spending a dime. If you're signed up already and are looking to make the most of your subscription, check out our rundown of the best shows and movies on Paramount Plus for our top streaming recommendations.

Mobland Season 2: Fans Finally Have An Answer About The Future Of The Show
MobLand fans have finally been given the update they've been waiting weeks for. On Monday evening, Paramount+ confirmed that they were renewing the crime drama for a new batch of episodes, meaning a second season is officially in the works. The weekly 10-part series premiered in March, and features an impressive cast led by Tom Hardy, Pierce Brosnan and Dame Helen Mirren. Chris McCarthy, an exec at Paramount, enthused: 'With more than 26 million viewers and climbing, MobLand has become a resounding triumph – driven by the creative brilliance of Guy [Ritchie], Jez [Butterworth], Ronan [Bennett] and David Glasser, and brought to life by the powerhouse performances of Tom, Pierce, and Helen. 'We are elated to greenlight a second season of this global phenomenon, which has dominated both domestic and international charts and soared to number one in the UK.' As MobLand's audience grew over the weeks that season one was streaming, it quickly became one of Paramount+'s most talked-about originals, with its premiere episode pulling in the platform's highest ever viewing figures. It was executive produced by Guy Ritchie, whose recent forays into TV have included Netflix's The Gentlemen and the upcoming origin story Young Sherlock, based on his movies starring Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law. Tom Hardy previously shared his hopes that MobLand would be renewed during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter in April, claiming: 'The plan is definitely to see more seasons. The question is: Does it become international?' He continued: 'There are international elements to organised crime, which are touched on in season one and the control of drugs and ammunition and weapons and people and all kinds of things that go through Europe and from Africa through to South America, Pakistan and the variable commodities that move around Europe. 'There are families that are involved in each European country that are vying for power to have that status to be able to move these kind of commodities through and who polices that and how that fits into a world stage. 'Watch this space': former EastEnders star hints at co-star's return after death
A former EastEnders actress has shared her thoughts on whether a co-star could return despite having been killed off offscreen in the soap. In 2018, Vincent, played by Richard Blackwood, it was implied that he was killed off but since his death wasn't shown, fans have wondered if he ever really died. Tameka Empson, who played Kim Fox until recently, seemed to hint at a possible return for Vincent, supporting the fan theory. Speaking to The Mirror, she said fans should 'watch this space' when she was asked if Vincent could possibly return. When asked about his return, Tameka said: 'Well where is he? And if he turns up he's got to turn up with something in his hands, cos it's been a long while now. 'We've cared for the children, out of house and everything. Watch this space people.' After reaching a dark turn, Vincent's drama with Aidan Maguire led to a mystery death and saw him leave the show seven years ago. He told the police everything he knew about the villain and planned to go into witness protection but his wife Kim was against the idea. Vincent didn't realise that the police officers he was talking to were corrupt and working for Maguire. They drove off with him in the car and pointed a gun at him. Fans were lead to believe that he had been killed but they never saw what happened after the car scene. A few years later, Vincent's wallet was found, further implying that he had died when it was returned by Howie Danes. Howie saw a murder take place and found the wallet at the crime scene with Kim distraught and believing it was likely Vincent that was killed. Fans seem sure that it could have been a fake death and that there is still some possibility that Vincent might return unscathed.
