I tried Deliveroo's 'Dip and Dine' and it was the weirdest takeaway ever

Eating a takeaway in the bath is probably not something you've ever done in your life, but Deliveroo is trying to change people's minds.
The online food delivery site has launched 'Dip & Dine' inflatables which allow people to enjoy pizza, curry, burgers and more in the tub.
This has been inspired by the online trend of 'banquet bathing' which has picked up traction on TikTok and Instagram, and seen celebrities like Selena Gomez, Olivia Atwood and Greg James give it a try.
Three different inflatables have been made in a circle, rectangle and pizza box to keep different types of takeaway buoyant in the bath.
If you're like me the whole thing sounds utterly ridiculous, but I was genuinely quite curious to see if it would actually work in practice.
I had two of the 'Dip and Dine' inflatables sent over in the circle and pizza box, which were fairly easy to blow up into shape.
The instructions that came with the inflatables mentioned to avoid "sudden movements" and to not place anything too heavy on the items.

Therefore, I thought it would be best to try out the pizza box inflatable to see if it held up to scrutiny, as it was the largest one.
The only thing to do next was to order my food and run a bath.

I genuinely can't remember the last time I had a bath, with it probably stretching back many years - but then I imagine that's the case for many people who just use the shower.
Once the bubbles had formed and the pizza and potato tots had arrived, I tested out the devices.

Thankfully, the pizza in its cardboard box wasn't too heavy for the other inflatable and rested gently on the surface.
After that, I got in without disturbing the inflatables and settled down to eat.
It did feel very strange at first tucking into a pizza while partially immersed in water.

The biggest issue people might face is getting their hands/arms soapy as they pick up the slices, but with a towel nearby it wasn't too much of a problem.
There may be more practicality issues involved if you're using cutlery for a curry for example, but the hands-on approach for pizza suits it well.
The main takeaway (pun unintended) is that the food stays within the items and you're unlikely to knock food into the water if you've inflated them properly.

Overall, I'm hardly likely to do this again as if I ever get a takeaway I ideally want to be sat watching TV, but at the same time it wasn't quite as odd as I thought it might be in practice.
