Busy railway lines near Glasgow lose power amid Storm Floris
Network Rail Scotland said it was aware of a loss of power to the overhead lines between Bishopton and Paisley, as well as Newton and Motherwell, at around 2.30pm on Monday. Teams of engineers have been deployed to both sites to assess the situation. On the line between Bishopton and Paisley, the rail operator stated that it has been confirmed that the loss of power was due to damage caused by trees. Multiple fires reported across heathland in Studland
Multiple fires have been reported on heathland in and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue said it was receiving a "high number of calls relating to fires in the open across the Studland area".Areas affected include Newton Heath, Middlebere Heath, Decoy Heath and fire service is urging anyone who sees an incident not in these locations to dial 999. Crews from 19 stations are responding to the various incidents.A spokesperson said: "We want to reassure everyone that we are in attendance and firefighters are working hard to extinguish the fires."
