Game Changer editor calls working with director Shankar a ‘terrible' experience: ‘He would turn up 10 days late'
Game Changer, starring Ram Charan and marking Bollywood actor Kiara Advani's debut in Telugu cinema, proved to be a box office dud and received negative reviews from both critics and audiences alike. Now, the film's editor, Shameer Muhammed, has opened up about his experience working on the project. Shameer described working with director Shankar as a 'terrible' experience.
In a recent interview with Kaumudy Movies, Shameer shared that he spent an entire year editing the film and managed to reduce its runtime to 2 hours and 50 minutes. He said, 'I spent a year with that film. I went there for three years. It was in the last six months that I was told I would have to stay with them for another month. I had a sketch here, so I came at that time. When I was editing, the film was 7–7.5 hours long. I made it three and a half hours. After that, a new editor came in and shortened it to 2.5–3 hours.'
However, Shameer Muhammed revealed that it was filmmaker Shankar's lack of professionalism that led him to exit the project. He had already turned down several other offers to focus on Game Changer. He said, 'It was a terrible experience working with Shankar for me. I went there with great excitement, but things were happening in some other world there. He would fix one date for editing, but he would turn up only after ten days. The same pattern continued for several days, and I ended up staying in Chennai for 300–350 days.'
Shameer shared that another editor, Ruben, took over the project after he stepped away. He explained that since he had already missed out on other opportunities while working on Game Changer, he did not want to lose out on films like Marco and Ajayante Randam Moshanam. Shameer added, 'Then I left the film. It would have been a terrible mistake if I had left AR and Marco for Game Changer.'
Game Changer minted Rs 186.25 crore worldwide against a reported budget of Rs 450 crore.

‘Tuk Tuk' makes big impact; takes OTT by storm with massive viewership
Sometimes, a film doesn't need big stars or massive budgets to leave a lasting impression. Proving this point once again is the small-budget Telugu film Tuk Tuk, which has become an unexpected hit on OTT. Recently released on Amazon Prime Video, the film has quickly climbed the charts and currently holds the No. 3 spot on the platform's trending list, surprising audiences and industry insiders alike. According to reports, Tuk Tuk has already crossed 100 million views—a remarkable feat for an indie project. What makes this achievement even more impressive is the film's lack of a star-studded cast or flashy production values. Instead, it relies on a heartfelt story, natural performances, and a director's unique vision to win over viewers. Directed by a debut filmmaker, Tuk Tuk blends drama and humour seamlessly, creating a screenplay that is both engaging and emotionally resonant. The film's strength lies in its simplicity and the honesty in storytelling. Every element—from direction and acting to music and narrative—works in harmony to make the film stand out. The actors, many of whom are newcomers, have received widespread recognition for their authentic performances. In particular, some of the younger cast members have become social media sensations, thanks to their dialogue delivery and screen presence. Tuk Tuk is yet another reminder that content is king. Its success proves that honest filmmaking backed by a compelling narrative can find its audience, regardless of budget or star power. The film has not only brought well-deserved attention to its cast and crew but also lit a beacon of hope for aspiring filmmakers and actors in the Telugu industry. If you haven't watched Tuk Tuk yet, it's streaming now on Amazon Prime Video—a must-watch underdog story.

Saunkan Saunkanay 2 Worldwide Opening Weekend Box Office: Ammy Virk, Sargun Mehta & Nimrat Khaira starrer collects Rs 14.50 crore in 3 days; Aims to emerge HIT
Punjabi film Saunkan Saunkanay 2 looks set to emerge a winner at the Indian box office after a long time. The film grossed Rs. 8 crore in India during its first weekend, with a solid trend over the weekend. Additionally, it earned Rs. 6.50 crore (USD 750K) overseas, giving the Sargun Mehta, Nimrat Khaira and Ammy Virk fronted film a global weekend of Rs. 14.50 crore. The film had a good opening day on Friday, but there were concerns of a drop on Saturday, owing to the fact that it had some holiday support on Friday and word of mouth wasn't particularly good. However, the film did well on Saturday staying flat and then got the big Sunday surge when family audiences come in strong. The film has passed the weekend test and now it comes to Monday. A good hold today will cement the HIT status of the film, which will make it the first in nearly nine months since Ardaas 3. During the period, there were a couple of HITs overseas, some even did BLOCKBUSTER business, but domestically, it's been a drought. The box office for Punjabi films has shifted dramatically in the last couple of years, with a huge migration trend which has resulted in a shrinking domestic market and huge growth overseas. Overseas being higher than domestic used to be a rare sight, but it is a common occurrence now. That said, there's still a slightly muted sentiment surrounding Saunkan Saunkanay 2. Its first weekend numbers fall short of the original, which collected Rs. 11 crore in India and USD 950K overseas. A sequel collecting below the original is not an optimal scenario, as generally, sequels score big in Punjabi cinema. This was seen coming with the trailer and music being a notch below the original and the fact that the original wasn't probably that well appreciated. Nonetheless, it's good to see numbers being back for Punjabi films. End of the month will see a big release in Sardaar Ji 3, hope will be for it to set the box office on fire and set some new benchmarks.
