After Delhi, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, UPITS 2025 roadshow heads to Mumbai
The fourth mega roadshow at Mumbai, after Delhi, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru will not only open doors to new investment opportunities, but also highlight Uttar Pradesh's progressive business vision, an official statement issued here on Thursday said.
MSME, Khadi and Village Industries Minister Rakesh Sachan will lead the event, supported by officials, who will showcase the state's transformational progress in infrastructure development, industry-friendly policies, and reforms aimed at enhancing Ease of Doing Business, it said.
The program is expected to see participation from foreign diplomats, embassy representatives, business associations, international buyers, investors, tech startups, and the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
The Mumbai roadshow will feature sector-specific presentations from leading brands and enterprises in technology, electronics, IT, electric vehicles, agro and food processing, and the flagship One District One Product (ODOP) scheme.
All these initiatives are part of the build-up to the UP International Trade Show 2025, to be held in Greater Noida from September 25 to 29, which aims to establish the state as a prominent player in the global business ecosystem under the theme 'Innovate, Integrate, Internationalize, the statement said. TCS to lay off over 12,000 employees this year; mid, senior level staff to be impacted
New Delhi, Jul 27 (PTI) India's largest IT services firm, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), is set to lay off about 2 per cent, or 12,261 employees, of its global workforce this year, with the majority of those impacted belonging to middle and senior grades. As of June 30, 2025, TCS's workforce stood at 6,13,069. It increased its workforce by 5,000 employees in the recently concluded April-June quarter. The move is part of the company's broader strategy to become a "future-ready organisation", focusing on investments in technology, AI deployment, market expansion, and workforce realignment, TCS said in a statement. "TCS is on a journey to become a Future-Ready organisation. This includes strategic initiatives on multiple fronts, including investing in new-tech areas, entering new markets, deploying AI at scale for our clients and ourselves, deepening our partnerships, creating next-gen infrastructure, and realigning our workforce model. "Towards this, a number of reskilling and redeployment initiatives have been underway. As part of this journey, we will also be releasing associates from the organisation whose deployment may not be feasible. This will impact about 2 per cent of our global workforce, primarily in the middle and the senior grades, over the course of the year," it said. CM Naidu meets Indian High Commissioner in Singapore, investors

Amaravati, Jul 27 (PTI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, as part of his five-day visit to Singapore, met the Indian High Commissioner and several investors on Sunday and showcased the state's vast potential. The CM held talks with Indian High Commissioner Shilpak Ambule, who shared insights into Singapore's achievements in diverse areas, its robust economic growth and the effective public policies being implemented there. Naidu shared details of the state's newly introduced policies, aimed at attracting investments across various sectors. The state has set an ambitious target of producing 160 gigawatts of green energy, he added. He informed the High Commissioner that green hydrogen projects have already been launched in Visakhapatnam (in partnership with NTPC) and Kakinada. Under the India Quantum Mission, Andhra Pradesh is set to establish the country's 'first-ever Quantum Valley' in Amaravati, said Naidu, adding that global tech leader Google is setting up a data center in Visakhapatnam. Russia starts direct commercial flights between Moscow, Pyongyang
Moscow, Jul 27 (AP) Russia on Sunday opened a regular air link between Moscow and Pyogyang, a move reflecting increasingly close ties between the two countries. The first flight operated by Russian carrier Nordwind took off from Moscow's Sheremetyevo airport carrying over 400 passengers. Russia's Transport Ministry said there will be one flight a month to meet demand. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, who visited North Korea's new Wonsan-Kalma beach resort earlier this month to meet with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, promised to encourage Russian tourists to visit the complex.
