Last night series 35 came to an end, with the fate of some cast members hanging in the balance after a particularly emotional few months, featuring break ups and some irreparable damage amongst friendship groups.
Fans will pick up where they left off when the BAFTA winning show returns later this year.
The drama is set to unfold against the backdrop of golden beaches, secluded coves and turquoise waters as the Essex crew navigate the trials and tribulations of their relationships and rivalries.
Rebecca Kenny-Smith, Creative Director, Unscripted, Objective Entertainment said: 'This is Towie's first trip to Portugal and it's shaping up to be an unforgettable getaway!
"We're anticipating lots of Towie antics in the Algarve and what better way to celebrate the milestone 15th anniversary. It's fantastic to start the new series with a burst of sunshine and then we're back in Essex for more drama.'
Series 36 also marks a homecoming for Towie as it will return to ITV2 and ITVX for its 15th
anniversary year, having initially debuted its first 12 series on ITV2.
Viewers are concerned that one star who might not return is Ella Rae Wise - as she cryptically commented last night: "@towie [cheers] to series 35! Over & outttt.'
It comes after The Sun revealed how Love Island bosses are lining her up for the new series.
We told this week that execs are in talks with the reality favourite to appear in the villa this summer following her bitter split with her boyfriend Dan Edgar and her stint on CBB.
Emotional moment Towie stars break down in floods of tears as rivals come face to face for dramatic showdown in first look at series finale
Last night saw the gang celebrate Jordan's 30th birthday with a Moulin Rouge themed party.
It was a chance for Junaid and Joe to tell their cast mates how they have felt about being ostracised from the group.
As Joe broke down in tears, Sophie told him: 'From today that can change.'
Elsewhere Saffron and Harry resolved their issues and Jordan and Sophie discussed their future.
Dan Edgar asked Ella Rae Wise to be his girlfriend - but since filming ended the relationship is over.

TOWIE's Amy Childs 'refuses to invite two co-stars to her wedding' following explosive fallout
Amy Childs has 'refused to invite two of her TOWIE co-stars to her wedding' following an explosive fallout, sources claim. The reality star, 34, revealed she and fiancé Billy Delbosq postponed her nuptials last month after a stressful period dealing with her mother's ill health and her own extreme weight loss. Despite delaying her wedding, Amy is certain two particular individuals will not be on the guest list. A source told The Sun: 'Amy has said all her Towie family will be invited to her wedding with Billy, bar two cast members. Although she said she isn't naming names it's clear to everyone who knows who those two cast members are.' In recent months Amy and Billy have gone head to head with her cousin Harry Derbidge 's ex Joe Blackman and his boyfriend Junaid Ahmed following 'cheating allegations and his subsequent split from Harry'. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the Daily Mail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. The insider continued: 'While they've done their very best to make amends and try and reintegrate back into the cast fold, Amy has drawn her line in the sand and made her position very clear. 'She and Bill filmed an explosive scene with the pair last year and since then have very much kept their distance.' MailOnline has contacted Amy's representatives for comment. The Sun previously revealed Joe and Junaid claimed their connection had sparked Joe and Harry's split. A source revealed Harry was left 'furious' after he 'discovered text messages between Joe and Junaid' and the discovery led to a blazing row before the couple ended things for good. The insider said: 'Harry found messages between Joe and Junaid and it led to a huge argument and them splitting.' And the storyline has begun to play out for viewers on TOWIE, with cast members 'divided' and forced to take sides. It was previously claimed that Amy's 'perfect' day was under threat and it has now been reported by Closer magazine that the day is totally off for now. According to the publication, the plans have been pushed back due to 'last minute changes', after she first delayed the wedding in 2023. An insider said: 'Amy has had to cancel her wedding and she's absolutely gutted. There was going to be a show around it, following the run-up to their big day.. 'But they've had to make some last-minute changes based on what's going on in their lives.' Amy recently addressed her weight loss and cruel trolling she's received as a result of it in an emotional interview. She told OK! Magazine: 'I'm going through so much at the minute that the weight has fallen off me. I worry about my mum constantly. She's very emotional – she thinks she's going to have another heart attack.' 'People think I'm not eating, but I do eat. To be honest, I do feel better when I'm a bit heavier than I am at the moment. There's so much going on at the minute – it's the result of pure stress. We're also having renovations done in the midst of parenting four kids.' Amy added: 'But I'm strong, I've been in this industry for 15 years. I've had lots of people concerned about me, which I completely understand, but yes, people can be so quick to judge.' Amy went on to explain how she once tried using weight-loss injections 18 months ago, but it made her 'so ill she threw up three or four times'. Amy has addressed the weight loss and cruel trolling she's received as a result of it in an emotional interview Amy suffered a recent personal tragedy when her mother Julie was rushed to hospital for emergency surgery after suffering a heart attack. In April she took to Instagram and said her mother, 59, collapsed from the health scare leaving her terrified. Amy revealed at the time that Julie was 'doing OK' but needed rest and was in hospital waiting for a stent to be fitted. A heart attack can lead to a complete blockage of blood flow to the heart, and a stent is a medical device used to open that blockage and restore blood flow. Alongside a picture of Julie beaming while holding her twins, Amy penned: 'We had very worrying news last Friday. My mum had a heart attack Friday evening. 'I've been having loads of messages from close friends (sorry I haven't got back to some of you). 'Mum is doing OK. She is going to hopefully be having a stent put in this week! 'She is so bloody strong but she needs rest. I've been all over the place this week but mum is in the best heart hospital where she is being looked after so well. 'Love you mum @mrsruliechilds hopefully your be home soon to celebrate your 60th. Love you more then anything mum xxx.' Julie will be known to fans as she starred in her daughter's 2011 reality show, It's All About Amy. Amy welcomed twins Milly and Billy in April 2022 with Billy Delbosq and also shares daughter Polly, eight, with builder Bradley Wright, and Ritchie, five, with her ex of the same name.
