UAE, Turkish Presidents affirm commitment to strengthening bilateral ties during inaugural meeting of High-Level Strategic Council
ANKARA (WAM)UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Excellency Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, President of the Republic of Türkiye, on Wednesday co-chaired the inaugural meeting of the High-Level Strategic Council between the two countries. The meeting was held in Ankara as part of His Highness's state visit to Türkiye.During the meeting, the two sides discussed the development of cooperation across various sectors aligned with national priorities and shared interests, including through the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement between the UAE and Türkiye.His Excellency President Erdoğan welcomed the visit of His Highness the UAE President as a step towards further advancing bilateral relations at all levels.The talks also reviewed progress in UAE-Türkiye relations, particularly in the areas of economy, trade, technology, industry, renewable energy, and food security as key drivers of sustainable development in both countries.The meeting addressed a number of regional and international issues, with a focus on developments in the Middle East. Both sides reaffirmed their shared commitment to supporting efforts aimed at advancing regional peace, which they described as the foundation for achieving development and a better future for coming generations.In this context, both leaders stressed the importance of prioritising dialogue and diplomatic solutions in addressing regional and global crises in a manner that upholds the interests of all nations and peoples.His Highness the UAE President reaffirmed the strength of UAE-Türkiye relations, built on mutual respect and a shared desire to promote growth and prosperity in both countries and the region. His Highness emphasised the UAE's commitment to deepening cooperation with Türkiye and supporting the two nations' shared vision for lasting peace, security, and stability.His Highness noted that the High-Level Strategic Council constitutes a significant milestone and reflects meaningful progress in the two countries' cooperation. His Highness also underscored its role as a vital platform for dialogue and consultation on issues of mutual concern.For his part, His Excellency President Erdoğan expressed his commitment to strengthening cooperation with His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in a way that serves the interests of both countries and supports wider efforts to promote peace, stability, and prosperity across the region and beyond.His Excellency President Erdoğan later hosted a luncheon in honour of the UAE President and his accompanying delegation.

DEWA achieves digital integration across over 100 projects
2 Aug 2025 21:11 DUBAI (ALETIHAD)Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), has emphasised DEWA's commitment to fulfilling the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to eliminate government bureaucracy and boost the UAE's competitiveness. The UAE was ranked first globally in the 2025 Absence of Bureaucracy Index, part of the Government Efficiency pillar in the IMD World Competitiveness Tayer announced that DEWA achieved digital integration across more than 100 projects, in collaboration with 65 government and private organisations, while service automation reached 100%. This raised the digital adoption of DEWA's services to 99.5%, taking the customer happiness and service quality scores to 98.3% and 95%, respectively. He said that through the implementation of the 'Services 360' policy, DEWA eliminated 90% of service delivery points, streamlining procedures and enhancing customer happiness. DEWA provides all its services digitally through its website, smart app and unified government has re-engineered its services to become fully digital – from application submissions to procedure tracking and document issuance. As part of its 'High Water Usage Alert' service, DEWA issued more than 3.2 million alerts for water leaks within buildings, preventing the loss of more than 61 million cubic metres of water and helping to save Dh 743 Tayer emphasised DEWA's keenness to eliminate unnecessary procedures and reduce transport costs for stakeholders through the provision of proactive, innovative and secure digital services. He reaffirmed DEWA's commitment to continuous development in its drive to provide efficient, high-quality and effective services that improve people's lives and meet their needs swiftly and effortlessly. The number of steps required to handle reports has been reduced from 10 to five in the case of field visits, and to just one for self-diagnosis. Report processing times were also reduced by 45% while field visits were cut by 36%, resulting in a customer satisfaction rate of 95.7%. Meanwhile, the Smart Water Interruptions Management System initiative has yielded commendable results by reducing the number of technical reports and shortening reporting times from two hours to a single click. This enables continuous network monitoring and immediate identification of affected customers. Performance metrics are now calculated in real-time, an improvement from the initial time of 30 minutes, while the average investigative response time for investigations dropped from 45 minutes to just 10.

The extension aims to give taxpayers more time to ensure accurate filing and full compliance with tax regulations. Non-Resident Indians most commonly file for ITR-2, of all the types. Below is a step-by-step guide on how you can file your ITR online. This process begins after you've completed the pre-filing stage, where you're required to enter all relevant income and tax-related information. 1. Log in to the e-Filing portal Visit the official e-Filing portal and log in using your PAN (as User ID), password, and captcha code. 2. Begin the Filing Process Once logged in, go to your dashboard and navigate to: e-File > Income Tax Returns > File Income Tax Return If your PAN is not linked with Aadhaar, a warning message will pop up indicating that your PAN is inoperative. You can either click 'Link Now' to link it immediately or proceed (not recommended). 3. Choose the assessment year Select Assessment Year 2024–25 and click 'Continue'. 4. Select mode of filing Choose 'Online' as your preferred mode and proceed. If you've started a return previously, you'll see the option to 'Resume Filing'.
