Snooker legend Jimmy White says his relationship with beauty queen girlfriend Jade Slusarczyk has helped turn his life around following his previous struggles with gambling and drugs.
White, 62, who famously reached six World Championship finals without winning a single one during the height of his career, was known as much for his partying as his antics on the baize back in the 1980s and 90s.
He has previously admitted to gambling away millions of pounds during his career, and has also opened up on his struggles with cocaine.

However, he says his 39-year-old partner has helped to keep him on the straight and narrow.
The pair met in 2018 during a snooker tournament in Slusarczyk's hometown, seven years after she had been crowned Miss Blackpool, and White admits the Sky Sports walk-on girl has been instrumental in helping him turn his back on his destructive tendencies.
"It's impossible to say how much I used to drink in my wild days. It was drink after drink and line after line and I'd go missing for days," he told The Sun in 2021.
"It took 15 years to get sober and I don't miss that life at all. Jade's helped me because she doesn't drink.
"I've never been so happy and I'm pleased to say my life is in a good place. I haven't got a zillion in the bank but I have my family and Jade.
"I didn't think for a minute she'd go out with me, because of the age difference.
"It's a miracle she fancies me. But she doesn't care about the age difference, so why should I?
"She's my girlfriend and she's fit so I'm happy. She's a beautiful girl, inside and out."
White has previously revealed how he blew much of his fortune on gambling, which he says brought him to the point of bankruptcy.

"I gambled at least three million quid, so if I gambled three million quid I probably had to earn six or seven million to get that,' he told the Anything Goes podcast in 2021.
"That's a lump, that's retirement money, so I should be more sick with that.
"But because at the time it was going so f***ing quick you don't think do you.
"I went bankrupt through gambling."
Drugs have also been a vice for White, who at the height of his exploits was know as 'The Whirlwind' by virtue of his aggressive style of play.
He also told Louis Theroux's documentary Gods of Snooker: "Cocaine was absolutely everywhere.
"It was like the devil's dandruff, but crack – it's evil. I tried smoking it and got completely addicted.
"I remember I had £35,000 in an account and I drained that on crack."

White's wait for another appearance at the World Championships is set to stretch to two decades after he was beaten in qualifying last week.
The 62-year-old lost 10-5 to Ashley Carty in the second round of the qualifying tournament at the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield, and hasn't appeared at the Crucible since a first-round defeat back in 2006.

Inside Brooklyn's feud with David and Victoria as he snubs dad's knighthood
Brooklyn Beckham and his wife Nicola Peltz have been at the centre of a feud with the Beckhams, with the aspiring chef snubbing his father's recent knighthood When David Beckham was revealed to be in the King's Birthday Honours List, his son, Brooklyn, was nowhere to be found on social media congratulating him. His other sons, Cruz and Romeo, took to their Instagram pages to share their pride for the football icon, with Cruz writing: "I'm so proud dad I love you. Sir David Beckham, has a nice ring to it." Romeo posted on his Stories: "So so proud of you." Victoria posted a loving snap of herself kissing her husband on his cheek, before gushing: "You've always been my knight in shining armour, but now it's official. Sir @davidbeckham!!! What an honour, I couldn't be prouder of you. "Your dedication to the things that matter most — your country, your work, your passion, and most of all, your family — has never wavered. The way you've touched so many lives over the years with kindness and humility speaks volumes about the man you are and continues to inspire us every day. But above all else, I'm so, so proud to call you mine. I love you so much." However, Brooklyn opted to post an advert for Pretzel Pita Chips half an hour the news was revealed. Not long after, he returned to his Instagram Stories to share a snap of his snack, which included whiskey, caviar, wine and his hot sauce. According to sources, David never told Brooklyn about his accolade and the former aspiring chef learned about the achievement through the media. A source for Brooklyn told Page Six he was thrilled his dad was finally receiving the honour, while a source quoted as someone close to his parents told the publication: "Brooklyn told his family he wants no contact and he's not responding to those that try to connect." There had been rumours of a family feud for months, with fans noticing how Brooklyn and Nicola snubbed Victoria's birthday party for Coachella. A month later, Brooklyn and his socialite wife were absent from David's multiple lavish celebrations for his milestone 50th birthday, including the intimate dinner in Paris and the celebrity party in Notting Hill. Things heated up when he declared that he will "always choose" his wife Nicola in an Instagram post. The comment from Brooklyn comes after weeks of speculation over the state of his relationship with his parents and his brother Romeo Beckham. There has been plenty of talk of what sparked the falling out - with Romeo's relationship with ex-girlfriend Kim Turnbull a big part of it. Brooklyn briefly dated Kim before he was married to Nicola and has apparently called her integrity into question. Brooklyn was said to be concerned about ex Kim's motives in dating his younger brother and wasn't sure she had his best interests at heart. Sources claimed that the rift between the pair was why Brooklyn and his Nicola were not present when David held a pre-birthday party. In recent days, it was reported that the hot sauce enthusiast told his famous parents he 'wants no contact' with them. Sources close to Brooklyn told Page Six that he was thrilled his dad was finally receiving the honour and had known it was so important. However, a separate source close to the Beckhams told the publication: "Brooklyn told his family he wants no contact and he's not responding to those that try to connect." Yet a separate Brooklyn source denied the claim, saying: "This seems to be another deliberate attempt to misrepresent the truth, and it only serves to distract from this honour being bestowed on Brooklyn's father."

The Chase's Bradley Walsh's 'promise' to family as he makes 'slowing down' comment
Our community members are treated to special offers, promotions and adverts from us and our partners. You can check out at any time. More info Bradley Walsh admitted that he had made a promise to his family to spend more time with them, as he addressed thoughts about slowing down. In an interview with fellow actor Tommy Tiernan released in 2024, the ITV presenter talked about this career up until that point, his regrets, and the misconceptions the public have about people who work in TV. He told Tommy initially that he felt, despite his success of as television presenter, he had missed his 'vocation' in life, and that he should have been a director instead. Bradley explained: 'I've missed my vocation in life, that's what's happened. I've missed my vocation. I should have been a director.' Reassured by Tommy that he still has time in life to pursue that career direction, The Chase presenter pushed back and stated that his age means he's unsure about how many active years he has left. The 65-year-old said: 'I think, well I've got bags of energy, but I just think, now, age. There's a certain amount of time you've got to slow down as well. Maybe there is time, I don't know. 'You've got to promise your family to spend more time with them, take it easy, have some holidays and stuff like that.' What's more, Bradley added that he disagreed with the 'workaholic' tag he's often given by people, explaining that actually, he spends most of the year off because of the compressed nature of productions. He explained: 'The worst thing is, it's a very odd sort of tag, people give me. They say, 'You're such a workaholic'. I'm actually not. 'I'm not a workaholic because we cram everything in, as you well know. TV doesn't work like that. I will make a whole year's [worth] of Chases in 50 days, so I've got 310 days off. I'll make 10 Blankety Blanks in five days. 'I make a series of Gladiators in two weeks, I'm done. It's like 70 days, 80 days, I'm done, so I have all the time off. I had, just recently, I had 10 weeks of in Portugal, I didn't know what to do with myself.' This isn't the first time Bradley has discussed his health and mortality in recent years, previously opening up about dealing with blepharitis that causes redness and swelling around the eyes. What's more, he told The Sun that the death of his father Daniel at the age of 59 has had a profound impact on him, especially once he had surpassed that age himself. He told the publication: 'I had a hang-up because my father, Daniel, died at the age of 59. I had it in the back of my mind that I just had to get past my dad's age. 'So turning 60 was a bit of a milestone. I was 33 when he passed away. I'd just done the Royal Variety Show performance which helped launch my career, but my dad died from heart failure two weeks after that and never got to see it.'

Skins star unrecognisable as he reunites with cast 12 years after show ended
Former Skins star Ollie Barbieri has shed the thick curls he was once known for – and is looking unrecognisable 12 years after the show ended. Ollie, 33, played Jonah Jeremiah Jones – aka JJ – in series 3 and 4 of the raucous teenage drama. During his run on the show, the character found himself in a love triangle between Effy (Kaya Scodelario), Cook (Jack O'Connell) and Freddie (Luke Pasqualino). In the end, JJ settled down with girlfriend Lara (Georgia Henshaw) and her baby from a previous relationship. JJ bowed out in 2010, while the show lasted three more series before coming to an end with series 7 in 2013. Ollie joined Kaya and other members of the cast as they reunited for the birthday of twins Kathryn and Megan Prescott, who played Katie and Emily Fitch. Posting a series of snaps from their birthday, actress and OnlyFans model Megan shared an image of herself and sister Kathryn as they posed with co-stars Klariza Clayton, Kaya and Ollie. 'Happy birthday Meg & Kat… the last time we were together we were all a lil bit younger, little bit dumber & hadn't had the pleasure of waking up with sore knees… love you all xx Y2K 4 EVA,' wrote Kaya as she also shared the image to her Instagram account. 'This is such a nice photo but I must implore you to edit the caption kaya 🤣 (or have I just been on O.F. so long that I read the sore knees thing as something entirely different…🤦♀️😂) xx' joked Megan in the comments below. Boasting a tight haircut, designer stubble and fashionable spectacles, the all-grown-up Ollie looked a world away from shy, nerdy JJ. Followers were shocked to see Ollie's new look, with AkonKitty commenting: 'Happy Birthday and happy to see Skins family!!! Is that JJ on the left?' 'In the end JJ won,' joked j0estrodamus. Meanwhile, others were cheered to see the cast reunite after all these years. 'This heals my inner teenage self seeing you all grown together 😭❤️' said conniekaraitiana. 'the fact you guys are still friends all of these years later 🥺🥹' said hotbriochedameron. 'Happy birthday to you both :) so awesome to see so many of you still in contact ❤️' commented dan_runner_7. 'Aww, a little skins reunion for a special day. 🥺 I cannot word how much I adore those friendships <3' said Following Skins, Ollie went on to appear in the urban drama spoof Anuvahood, where he played a character named Enrique. In 2017, he reunited with fellow Skins alumnus Klariza – who played Freddie's sister, Karen. Starring in the thriller Blood Money, Ollie and Klariza marked their reunion by posing for a selfie together as they shared transport on the way to set. 'Reunited with @klarizaclayton Yeah we're getting a ferry to set,' he wrote in the accompanying caption. These days, the actor lives in London with his girlfriend, journalist and Huffpost editor Dayna McAlpone. Other members of the cast have gone on to achieve varying levels of success since graduating from Skins. Along with 33-year-old Kaya, breakout stars Nicholas Hoult, Dev Patel and Daniel Kaluuya have all gone on to become giants in the world of Hollywood. Last year, Kaya revealed how she 'pushed back' against sex scenes in the spin-off series Skins: Fire. 'I felt much more confident in saying what I felt during that series,' she told The Guardian. More Trending 'When the first draft came through, there were a lot of sex scenes in it, and I could tell it was because I turned 18, and that meant that they could show more. And I went back and said: 'No, there's no need to do that'.' Reflecting on her time in Skins, she said: 'Nothing too awful ever happened [on the set of Skins], thank God, but it could have, and I think that's what's scary about it. What's wonderful now is that every production is aware that a sex scene is essentially a stunt, and it should be choreographed. '[We] were so grateful and happy to be there that we did as we were told most of the time. But this was a show that was created by older grown-ups, and it would have been cool to have more conversations as actors about what we were doing. She continued: '[We] were treated like teenagers that were there to make a teenage show. It was nice that we felt free and didn't understand the politics of the business – we weren't worrying about whose face was going to be on the poster or who was earning more than who. But at the same time, it's important to treat actors like actors.' Got a story?
