Andhra Pradesh and Telangana CMs Engage in Water Issues Dialogue
The discussions centred around the Polavaram-Banakacherla interconnection project proposed by Andhra Pradesh, alongside ten issues raised by Telangana. The meeting was attended by the Water Resources Ministers of both states, Nimmala Ramanaidu and Uttam Kumar Reddy, along with Chief Secretaries, secretaries of the Water Resources Departments, and engineers from both states.
Prior to the formal meeting, the chief ministers held discussions with their respective state officials to prepare for the agenda. They reviewed the issues to be raised and the technical responses to be provided, engaging in a thorough review for approximately ninety minutes. This collaborative effort underscores the ongoing commitment of both states to resolve contentious water matters amicably.

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu highlighted the growing significance of green hydrogen in combating global warming during his address at the Green Hydrogen Summit held at SRM University in Amaravati. In a special meeting with managing directors and chief executives of energy firms, Naidu remarked, 'I came here to hear your thoughts and learn about your innovations. I was the first to implement electricity reforms in 1999, which temporarily affected power availability. We now need to focus on low-cost green electricity production and storage. Andhra Pradesh should be the focal point for such research and innovation.' Naidu noted that the central government has prioritised green hydrogen, with NITI Aayog also focusing on this area. He expressed his vision of Andhra Pradesh becoming a hydro valley in the future, underlining the state's unique resources for the production and transportation of green hydrogen. The Chief Minister called for transformative changes in the energy sector, recalling that electricity supply was inadequate in previous years. He mentioned the successful initiative initiated in 1995, where they began generating power through the reverse pump system at Srisailam to meet high electricity demands. Naidu also pointed out that the production of green hydrogen could lead to the lowest electricity costs. He drew attention to recent steps taken by the Centre and NTPC towards establishing green hydrogen facilities in Visakhapatnam and announced plans for the development of ports along Andhra Pradesh's coastline every 50 kilometres.

Jagga Reddy asks KTR to explain purpose of secret meeting with AP IT minister Nara Lokesh
Congress senior leader and former MLA T. Jagga Reddy questioned the credibility of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K.T. Rama Rao and asked him to explain the alleged secret meetings he had with Andhra Pradesh IT Minister Nara Lokesh. 'Was the meeting held at the behest of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) or not?' he asked at a press conference held in Hyderabad, further demanding that KTR should explain to the people the purpose of such a secret meeting. 'Is there any conspiracy and are you part of it?' he asked. Responding to BRS leaders' taunts on why Mr. Revanth Reddy doesn't chant 'Jai Telangana,' Mr Jagga Reddy sought to know why the BRS had taken out the Telangana word from its party's name. 'Is it not the BRS that has insulted Telangana?' he asked, appealing them to introspect before criticising others. Mr. Jagga Reddy also ridiculed the BRS narrative that Mr. Revanth Reddy was a disciple of AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. 'Before Mr. Revanth Reddy even entered the Assembly, KCR was a three-time MLA, Minister, and Deputy Speaker in the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) under Mr. Naidu. Should we not talk about that history?' he asked. Mr. Jagga Reddy claimed that KCR was afraid to face Mr. Revanth Reddy, and that is why he was deliberately skipping the Assembly sessions. 'After being in power for 10 years, questions will be asked, and KCR doesn't have those answers for destroying Telangana.' Taking a dig at senior BRS leader T. Harish Rao, the former MLA called him a 'great actor' and accused him of making baseless allegations against Irrigation Minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, who is known for his integrity, and has served in the Indian Air Force as a fighter pilot. He stressed the need for clarity, claiming that the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and the Congress party in Telangana are essentially two sides of the same coin. Sanjay urged the people of Telangana to reflect on their choices, whether they prefer a govt rooted in conspiracy politics or one committed to addressing and resolving real issues.
