Marlon Wayans claps back at Soulja Boy for calling him homophobic slur, rapper offers — then deletes — apology

Yahoo13-02-2025

The feud between Marlon Wayans and Soulja Boy may have reached its boiling point.
After they exchanged barbs online for days, their beef came to a head when Soulja Boy fired off several homophobic and transphobic posts on Wednesday, referencing the comedian's transgender son.
"Ain't yo son a t----- that suck dick?" the rapper wrote in a now-deleted X post viewed by Entertainment Weekly. He followed it up with a screenshot of articles about Wayans voicing support for his 23-year-old transgender son, Kai.
"That f----- shit run in the family, huh? @MarlonWayans, no wonder u like dressing up as a bitch — it's in ur blood," the former hitmaker captioned the photo.
Wayans did not wait to clap back.

"You know you can get cancelled for transphobic slander like this," he replied on X. "Fortunately for you that you don't have a career. Apparently, you BEEN cancelled for the last 17 years. 'Crank That' was 2007. We waiting."
He summed up his point in a second post, with a screenshot of Soulja Boy's post that he captioned, "If @souljaboy had a career he could get cancelled for this type of slander. Luckily he ain't been relevant since 2007."
On Thursday, the rapper deleted his deluge of posts insulting Wayans and offered an apology.
"I apologize for crashing out. I just be trying to defend myself," he wrote. "But sometimes I take it too far. Back to the music & TV shows. Love y'all."
However, in another post he defended his decision to insult Wayans, arguing that it was a response to the actor "dissing" him in an interview. The rapper later deleted all of his new posts.
Tension between the two seems to date back to Wayans' January appearance on 101.1 The Wiz, during which he criticized Soulja Boy for performing at the inaugural festivities for President Donald Trump. "I mean, Soulja, he been canceled," Wayans said. "So, Soulja Boy better go and get that check… He don't care."

Wayans went on to suggest that the artist may not have realized what he'd signed on for, saying, "I think they thought it was a Bitcoin event, and they found out it was a ball for [Trump], and it was too late to pull out. But, you know, that's why you've got to check the fine print."
No stranger to being at the center of a beef, Soulja Boy fired off his first response to the actor on Monday, writing, "Marlon Wayans, you a bitch and u not funny. Shut up, n----. Keep selling ur soul and sucking the higher-up dicks."
Wayans replied to the X post, writing, "You molested [a] lil boy. Go sit your lil ass down on some uncle lap and stfu."The rapper wrote back, "Molested? A n---- ever touch me they gone die. I don't play that gay shit. U sucked dick for ur movie roles. I got my shit out the mud by myself. No help — just the internet."
He also shared a screenshot of an alleged DM from Wayans asking the rapper to help promote his 2017 Netflix movie, Naked. After the he posted it, Wayans unleashed a series of his own posts, making fun of the "Pretty Boy Swag" rapper.
Sharing a photo of Soulja Boy being partially embraced by another man, he wrote, "I'm sorry, @souljaboy said what now? Lookin' like you give up anything for some meth."
Responding to the DM about the movie, he commented, "Oh that's from when you semi-relevant. Before you was dead dead."
Wayans didn't stop there, later sharing close-up photos of the rapper's teeth, writing, "Tell me @souljaboy didn't smoke crack. Look at the hot crack pipe burns on his lips. And them teeth look like they sayin', 'I'll suck yo d---.'"
The comedian also took time to plug his upcoming projects. "Say less… back to writing another classic SCARY 6 SUMMER 2026," he wrote, referencing the recently announced revival of his hit Scary Movie spoof franchise. "And @souljaboy, you can go back to… hmmm??? Irrelevancy?"
Following his apology, Soulja Boy reshared that post, admitting, "Haha, this actually made me laugh. Much love to you fam, @MarlonWayans. I'm done being mad, y'all."
Representatives for Wayans and Soulja Boy did not immediately respond to EW's request for comment.

Wayans has been a vocal and passionate supporter of the transgender community since opening up on The Jennifer Hudson Show about his own "beautiful, magical" journey of acceptance following his son's transition. He also addressed it during a 2024 conversation with PEOPLE, explaining that he went through his own transition "from defiance to acceptance."
"It took me all of a week," he said, "and in that week I grew the most that I ever did in my life."
He continued, "You understand the purpose of kids and the beauty of unconditional love. At the end of the day, in my heart, only thing that matters to me is that my child is happy."

Dakota Jokes "Madame Web" Flop Was 'Not Her Fault'

Dakota Johnson is reflecting on the negative reception her film Madame Web was met with last year. The Fifty Shades Of Grey star appeared alongside Sydney Sweeney and The Last Of Us' Isabela Merced in the Spider-Man spin-off, taking the lead as Cassandra Webb. Upon its release, Madame Web was near-unanimously slammed by critics, and was also a bomb at the box office. Asked about the project during a new interview with the LA Times, Dakota quipped: 'It wasn't my fault.' She explained: 'There's this thing that happens now where a lot of creative decisions are made by committee. Or made by people who don't have a creative bone in their body. And it's really hard to make art that way. Or to make something entertaining that way. 'And I think unfortunately, with Madame Web, it started out as something and turned into something else. And I was just sort of along for the ride at that point. But that happens. Bigger-budget movies fail all the time.' 'I don't have a Band-Aid over it,' she claimed. 'There's no part of me that's like, 'Oh, I'll never do that again' to anything. I've done even tiny movies that didn't do well. Who cares?' Shortly after the movie's release, Dakota admitted she was 'not surprised' to see Madame Web being picked apart in the way that it was. 'It was a real learning experience, and of course it's not nice to be a part of something that's ripped to shreds,' she said. 'But I can't say that I don't understand.' Dakota previously told Entertainment Weekly: '[Before Madame Web, I'd] never really done a movie where you are on a blue screen, and there's fake explosions going off, and someone's going, 'Explosion!' and you act like there's an explosion. That to me was absolutely psychotic. 'I was like, 'I don't know if this is going to be good at all! I hope that I did an okay job!'.'

'Ballerina 'director breaks down the ending and its 'brutal' consequences for John Wick and Eve

This article contains spoilers for Eve's (Ana de Armas) fight has only just begun by the end of Ballerina. The John Wick spinoff movie introduces a new ruthless assassin on a quest for vengeance, and director Len Wiseman tells Entertainment Weekly that there's so much more yet to come with Eve's story after this movie. And despite Keanu Reeves' titular killer advising her multiple times to walk away from this life, she continues to dive deeper into the world of contract killings even after she finally gets her revenge. "She's checked herself into the Continental, and her next move is really sorting out how her whole life has been a lie," Wiseman tells EW of where Eve goes from here. "She now understands what her father was really doing for her, understands where she came from, and decided, 'I've made a choice. I've got the answers that I needed, but there are consequences in this world.'" If Ballerina gets a sequel to continue exploring that open-ended conclusion, the director says it will need to unpack the fallout from Eve's choices. "She has to now deal with the consequences that John Wick laid out to her, that Winston [Ian McShane] laid out to her," Wiseman says. "It is a brutal world. You don't walk off into the sunset very easily. And so now Eve's next move is how to deal with the consequences of her actions in this [movie]." Ballerina is essentially Eve's origin story, beginning with her tragic childhood. When her father (David Castañeda) is killed in front of her, she's given over to the Ruska Roma for training in both killing and ballet. Twelve years later, she graduates to become a hired gun. Only two months into her new career, she discovers a clue about who really killed her father, motivating her to find and punish the mysterious cult of assassins responsible for his death. While the Ruska Roma's Director (Anjelica Huston) tries to dissuade Eve from seeking revenge, she immediately goes rogue, getting intel from New York's Continental owner Winston that helps her track down the tribe's leader, the Chancellor (Gabriel Byrne), and his entire town of trained assassins. While fighting her way through the town, Eve learns she was actually stolen away from this place when she was a child by her father, who wanted her to have a better, less violent life. That's why the Chancellor had her father killed, to punish him for kidnapping Eve. She also meets her long-lost older sister Lena (Catalina Sandino Moreno) in the town, but she's killed pretty quickly — no emotional hugs here. Eventually, the Baba Yaga himself, John Wick, is sent to kill Eve to stop her from causing a war between the Ruska Roma and the Chancellor's gang of killers, who have had a truce for over 100 years. But John doesn't follow through on his contract, instead helping Eve kill the Chancellor and save a little girl named Ella (Ava Joyce McCarthy) from a life of murder. Eve helps Ella reunite with her father, Daniel (Norman Reedus), ultimately finding redemption for her own tragic childhood. It's not a totally happy ending, though, since Eve discovers at the very end of the movie that a contract has been put out on her for $5 million, forcing her into action once again. Her original mission may have ended, but her troubles are only just beginning. "The Chancellor relates to her at the ending that this cycle will continue: 'You kill me, you've cut the head of the snake, but the body still lives,'" Wiseman says. "There will be ramifications of that. And she didn't kill the entire village." The filmmaker would love to explore what would happen if Eve's mother isn't actually dead, as everyone believes. What if she returns to see her entire home destroyed and Lena dead?"If I really were to get my full fantasy of that, her mother would discover that village and see it decimated and her daughter has been killed, so the ramifications can come in many different forms," Wiseman says. "And also, is John completely off the hook for helping her out at the end? He technically was going by the rules in a sense, but he kind of fudged the rules a little bit. I don't think anybody gets off kindly in this world." The director thought it was a no-brainer that John defied his orders and helped Eve in her mission instead of killing her, especially considering that this movie takes place between John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum and John Wick: Chapter 4. "It comes down to John and what John has gone through in his life and what circumstances he's been put in at this point," Wiseman says. "And there's an understanding of how sometimes this life takes things from you. He was somebody that is having to deal with the consequences of the revenge path that he went on and what he had lost, and so it really is him seeing a bit of himself in her and how personal it is and what has been destroyed about her life. So he feels for her in that moment." Ballerina is now playing in theaters. Read the original article on Entertainment Weekly
