Show Caption Hide Caption Marlon Wayans slams Soulja Boy for transphobic comments Marlon Wayans has fired back at Soulja Boy after the rapper made homophobic and transphobic remarks about the comedian and his transgender son, Kai. unbranded - Entertainment Marlon Wayans' and Soulja Boy's quarrel began weeks ago, and the two continue to exchange barbs with the "Scary Movie" actor and comedian recently releasing an AI-generated country music diss track taunting the rapper. Wayans posted the diss track to his Instagram on Thursday with the caption: "What you say 'Bout my mama?!" The song opens by accusing Soulja Boy of being on drugs, including "crinack and meth." The song then tries to poke fun at the "Crank That" rapper by saying he looks like "Flavor Flav without the clock," is a one-hit-wonder, is flat-chested and is a Bitcoin sellout. After posting the song, Wayans continued to take jabs at Soulja Boy on his Instagram, even posting about the rapper's teeth. "I don't take kindly anyone defaming my mama, my child or their community," the comedian wrote in a caption for an Instagram post on Sunday. "So without stooping to degrading levels, I'm gonna slap you with these jokes. Keep my name out yo rotten Mouf. You know what it is…" Wayans' post came after Soulja Boy made some derogatory comments on X about the comedian's late mother who died on July 23, 2020, at age 81, Vice reported. The X post has since been deleted and is no longer on the rapper's page. USA TODAY reached out to Wayans' and Soulja Boy's reps on Tuesday but did not immediately receive a response. How did the feud between Soulja Boy and Marlon Wayans start? The feud between the two began when Wayans criticized Soulja Boy for performing at President Donald Trump's Crypto Ball, which was a part of his inauguration festivities in Washington, D.C. last month. He made comments about the rapper during his appearance on Cincinnati radio station 101.1 The Wiz when he was asked for his opinion on Snoop Dogg, Nelly and others performing at the Crypto Ball. "I mean, Soulja Boy, he's been canceled. Nobody cares who Soulja Boy is. Soulja Boy better go and get that check. I don't think he's had hits in… He don't care," Wayans said after volunteering the rapper's name in the conversation. Wayans defended the musicians participating in the Crypto Ball by denouncing the "public skewering" they've received. "We are divided enough," the comedian said. "To be honest with you, I don't know if they knew it was an underwritten (by) Trump event. I've done things for Bitcoin, right, and a lot of people don't really know about Bitcoin like that. I think they thought it was a Bitcoin event, and they came to find out it was a ball for Trump." Soulja Boy directed homophobic, transphobic comments toward Wayans and his son Wayans and Soulja Boy had been going back and forth for weeks, but on Feb. 12, things came to a head as the rapper directed homophobic and transphobic comments at the comedian and his transgender son, Kai, according to Entertainment Weekly and Billboard. The X posts are no longer available on Soulja Boy's account. "You know you can get cancelled for transphobic slander like this… Fortunately for you that you don't have a career. Apparently, You BEEN cancelled for the last 17 years. Crank that was 2007. We waiting," Wayans wrote alongside a screenshot of one of the "Kiss Me Thru the Phone' rapper's X posts. Marlon Wayans rips Soulja Boy for transphobic remarks against son: ‘He ain't been relevant'
For comedian Marlon Wayans, defending his son from transphobic and homophobic comments is no laughing matter. Unless it involves Soulja Boy. The 'Scary Movie' and 'White Chicks' star on Wednesday made a punchline of the 'Kiss Me Thru the Phone' rapper's career after the musician dragged Wayans family matters into a social media feud. In a series of tweets this week, Soulja Boy, also known for songs 'Crank That' and 'Pretty Boy Swag,' used slurs to criticize Wayans, his acting career and his trans son, Kai. Soulja Boy on Wednesday tweeted a screenshot of reports about Wayans' support for Kai. Seemingly referencing the 52-year-old comic disguising himself as a white woman for the 2004 comedy 'White Chicks,' the rapper wrote: 'That ... run in the family huh? @MarlonWayans no wonder u like dressing up as a b— it's in your blood.' The rapper has since deleted the offensive tweets — but not quickly enough to save himself from a Wayans clapback. 'If @souljaboy had a career he could get cancelled for this type of slander,' the 'Marlon' star tweeted Wednesday. 'Luckily he ain't been relevant since 2007.' That was the year Soulja Boy, real name DeAndre Cortez Way, broke out with his catchy hit 'Crank That (Soulja Boy)' and its accompanying dance. He continued to gain traction in the early aughts with songs 'Donk,' 'Kiss Me Thru The Phone' and 'Pretty Boy Swag.' Though his popularity has tapered off in the past decade, the 34-year-old continues to drop new music including his latest album, 'The Influence,' released last Friday. Although it's unclear how or when the Wayans-Soulja Boy feud began, Billboard reported the beef traces back to the rapper's decision to perform in January at the Crypto Ball in Washington, D.C., to celebrate President Trump's inauguration. Like fellow rappers Snoop Dogg and Nelly, who also performed at Trump inauguration events, Soulja Boy defended his performance, saying on Instagram that 'Trump put money in my pockets.' He also noted that the president was not at the event. Days after the inauguration, Wayans appeared on Cincinnati radio station 101.1 The Wiz, where he called for unity during the new administration and shared his two cents about the rappers who performed at the Trump celebrations. 'I mean, Soulja Boy, he been canceled. Nobody cares [about] Soulja Boy. Soulja Boy go better get that check,' Wayans said. He added: 'I don't know if they knew it was [an] underwritten Trump event.' Soulja Boy hit back at the comedian on Monday, weeks after Wayans' radio spot, tweeting 'u not funny' and he 'keep selling ur soul' amid a burst of profanity. A back-and-forth ensued with each of the performers taking jabs at the other's careers and appearances. Wayans, currently on his Wild Child comedy tour, revealed his son's transition during a November 2023 interview with 'The Breakfast Club.' At the time, he spoke about 'going from ignorance and denial to complete unconditional love and acceptance' and praised Kai as 'brilliant' and the 'most well-read, the smartest Wayans.' He shares children Kai and Shawn with ex-girlfriend Angela Zackery. Last June, Wayans hit back against a slew of haters who decried his rainbow-adorned Instagram photos celebrating Pride. 'As a father of a child in the LGBTQ+ community I show my support. Zero f— what people think. If i lost you… GOOD!,' he wrote in a caption. Wayans will reunite with brothers Shawn Wayans and Keenen Ivory Wayans for a new chapter of their 'Scary Movie' franchise, set to hit theaters next summer. Additionally, the Wayans family will get their flowers at the 56th NAACP Image Awards later this month. The 'In Living Color' and 'My Wife and Kids' comedy dynasty will be inducted into the NAACP Image Awards Hall of Fame when the ceremony airs Feb. 22 on BET.

Marlon Wayans claps back at Soulja Boy for calling him homophobic slur, rapper offers — then deletes — apology
The feud between Marlon Wayans and Soulja Boy may have reached its boiling point. After they exchanged barbs online for days, their beef came to a head when Soulja Boy fired off several homophobic and transphobic posts on Wednesday, referencing the comedian's transgender son. "Ain't yo son a t----- that suck dick?" the rapper wrote in a now-deleted X post viewed by Entertainment Weekly. He followed it up with a screenshot of articles about Wayans voicing support for his 23-year-old transgender son, Kai. "That f----- shit run in the family, huh? @MarlonWayans, no wonder u like dressing up as a bitch — it's in ur blood," the former hitmaker captioned the photo. Wayans did not wait to clap back. "Fortunately for you that you don't have a career. Apparently, you BEEN cancelled for the last 17 years. 'Crank That' was 2007. We waiting." He summed up his point in a second post, with a screenshot of Soulja Boy's post that he captioned, "If @souljaboy had a career he could get cancelled for this type of slander. Luckily he ain't been relevant since 2007." On Thursday, the rapper deleted his deluge of posts insulting Wayans and offered an apology. "I apologize for crashing out. I just be trying to defend myself," he wrote. "But sometimes I take it too far. Back to the music & TV shows. Love y'all." However, in another post he defended his decision to insult Wayans, arguing that it was a response to the actor "dissing" him in an interview. The rapper later deleted all of his new posts. Tension between the two seems to date back to Wayans' January appearance on 101.1 The Wiz, during which he criticized Soulja Boy for performing at the inaugural festivities for President Donald Trump. "I mean, Soulja, he been canceled," Wayans said. "So, Soulja Boy better go and get that check… He don't care." But, you know, that's why you've got to check the fine print." No stranger to being at the center of a beef, Soulja Boy fired off his first response to the actor on Monday, writing, "Marlon Wayans, you a bitch and u not funny. Shut up, n----. Keep selling ur soul and sucking the higher-up dicks." Wayans replied to the X post, writing, "You molested [a] lil boy. Go sit your lil ass down on some uncle lap and stfu."The rapper wrote back, "Molested? A n---- ever touch me they gone die. I don't play that gay shit. U sucked dick for ur movie roles. I got my shit out the mud by myself. No help — just the internet." He also shared a screenshot of an alleged DM from Wayans asking the rapper to help promote his 2017 Netflix movie, Naked. After the he posted it, Wayans unleashed a series of his own posts, making fun of the "Pretty Boy Swag" rapper. Sharing a photo of Soulja Boy being partially embraced by another man, he wrote, "I'm sorry, @souljaboy said what now? Lookin' like you give up anything for some meth." Responding to the DM about the movie, he commented, "Oh that's from when you semi-relevant. Before you was dead dead." Wayans didn't stop there, later sharing close-up photos of the rapper's teeth, writing, "Tell me @souljaboy didn't smoke crack. Look at the hot crack pipe burns on his lips. And them teeth look like they sayin', 'I'll suck yo d---.'" The comedian also took time to plug his upcoming projects. "Say less… back to writing another classic SCARY 6 SUMMER 2026," he wrote, referencing the recently announced revival of his hit Scary Movie spoof franchise. "And @souljaboy, you can go back to… hmmm??? Irrelevancy?" Following his apology, Soulja Boy reshared that post, admitting, "Haha, this actually made me laugh. Much love to you fam, @MarlonWayans. I'm done being mad, y'all." Representatives for Wayans and Soulja Boy did not immediately respond to EW's request for comment. Marlon Wayans accuses Soulja Boy of child molestation in heated online feud
Comedian Marlon Wayans is not holding back after rapper Soulja Boy took aim at him on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday night. The rapper, known as Big Draco, posted a series of scathing remarks about Wayans, accusing the actor of selling out and being unfunny. "Soulja Boy" began his attack with, 'Marlon Wayans you a b*tch and u not funny. Shut up n*gga keep selling ur soul and sucking the higher up d*cks.' The post sparked confusion among fans, as no clear reason was provided for the sudden outburst. Wayans quickly responded, firing back with equally harsh language. In a pair of posts, the actor lashed out at the rapper, writing, 'Says the coon that jumped over the moon,' and, 'You molested lil boy. Go sit your lil a** down on some uncle lap and sh*t.' The cause of the feud remains unclear, but Wayans had recently commented on Soulja Boy's controversial performance at a Crypto Ball honoring Donald Trump's inauguration. On an appearance on 101.1 The Wiz, Wayans dismissed Soulja Boy's career as "canceled" and suggested the rapper may have been unaware of the Trump connection at the event. Another potential source of the tension could be Wayans' support for Drake following Kendrick Lamar's explosive Super Bowl performance. Soulja Boy had no sympathy for the rapper, posting a blunt comment. Despite promoting his new album, Soulja Boy appears more focused on X rants, targeting celebrities like Wayans, Bhad Bhabie (whom he recently threatened to sue), and his ongoing feud with Blueface.
