Richard Ashcroft announces huge tour update after 'nearly outshining Oasis'
After embarking upon the biggest stadium tour of the year as special guest to Oasis, and selling out Manchester's Co-op Live, Richard Ashcroft today announces additional UK dates due to overwhelming demand. Richard will perform at arenas in Cardiff, Liverpool, London and Leeds in Spring 2026, with tickets on sale at 9.30am on Friday 1st August.
The announcement follows the news of the October 3rd release date of his brand new album Lovin' You - his first all-new album since 2018's Natural Rebel and follows 2021's Acoustic Hymns, Vol. 1.
Speaking on Radio 2 earlier this month Richard Ashcroft said: 'The album's due in September, just after I finish the dates with Oasis. That'll be coming out in September, and yeah, happy days, we'll see how it goes. I'm buzzing that I'm still here. I'm still making music, people pay me to make music, people pay me to sing live. It's like I can't complain.'
Ashcroft has won huge praise from fans after being picked to join Oasis on their huge sell-out Live 25 tour. Speaking after seeing the band play at Wembley Stadium, David Baddiel said the former Verve frontman gave the Gallaghers a run for their money when it came to entertaining the crowd. Noel has even been spotted watching Ashcroft's sets before walking on stage himself.
"Oasis were great tonight. But they were nearly outshone by their support, Richard Ashcroft, in incredible voice: still the Scott Walker of Britpop," Baddiel posted to X.
"Don't think Richard has ever done a bad show," replied one of his followers. "Magnificent," agreed another, while a third said: "It's the absolute dream lineup. Chris Martin said Richard Ashcroft had the best voice going around. Richard Ashcroft and Oasis playing in 2025. It's what the world needs some GOOD THINGS! I can't wait to see them in Australia. Magic. How special to be at Wembley. Brilliant."
Responding to Baddiel's video of Ashcroft singing The Drug's Don't Work, another X user replied: "This was a real moment in Manchester too. Something about that song still felt fresh / in the room as it were. The Oasis tunes being great, but definitely a stronger nostalgic tinge to them."
Richard Ashcroft and Oasis share a mutual admiration which dates back to touring together before Oasis first broke through. Richard is performing as special guest on all of their UK shows alongside band Cast.

‘This clear fake tan lasts a week and has people asking if I've been on holiday'
Beauty editor Laura Mulley recently tried out this clear dark tanning water and couldn't believe how long it lasted – and the compliments she received on her golden glow In summer, I rely on fake tan when wearing shorts, dresses and T-shirts to give my naturally pale skin some healthy colour. I've got my favourites – Isle Of Paradise Glow Clear Self Tanning Mousse Medium being one – but I'm always keen to try new ones. I'm particularly drawn to finding the best clear fake tans that won't ruin my bedsheets – and here's one that I was super impressed with, and got me lots of compliments. The night before attending a recent Oasis gig I applied Bare by Vogue Clear Tan Water Dark, currently down from £23 to £16.10 at Boots, from the tanning brand founded by TV personality Vogue Williams. A clear water that comes out as a foam, it feels velvety to apply, goes on smoothly and evenly, and dries quickly – and yes, unless it's a particularly hot and sticky night, doesn't come off onto your bedding. Although naturally very pale myself, I braved using the dark shade of tan as I'd tested the medium before and didn't think the colour was strong enough. And actually, when I woke up the next morning, it still wasn't as dark as I expected it to be – in fact, I wondered if anyone would even notice a difference. However, maybe I was imagining it but I felt like the tan continued to develop slightly throughout the day, even after showering, and come mid-afternoon when it was time to get ready for the event, I felt confident wearing my chosen outfit of white shorts and vintage T-shirt. And when I met up with friends, I received compliments on my colour straight away: "You look glowing!" one said. "Have you just come back from holiday?" It wasn't just this response that I was thrilled with, but also how well this tan lasted. Normally I get about three days of good colour before my tan starts to disappear or turn streaky, but this Bare by Vogue formula still looked good on my limbs a week later, and even pushed 10 days. Definitely one to try if you want long-lasting results. My one negative is that it might not be dark enough for those after a very deep colour (I'd say if was more in line with my other 'medium' tans). If you want something ultra-dark, you might want to go for Filter by Molly-Mae Extra Dark Tanning Mousse, £22, or Cocoa Brown 1 HOUR TAN Self Tan Mousse in Extra Dark, currently £6.66. And for when it's time to remove any old remnants of your self tan before applying a fresh layer, our shopping writer Meghan has been really impressed by how well St Moriz Self Tan Removing Foam, £4.99, works. "You'll notice almost immediately that colour starts running off in the water, and it is noticeably lifted from the skin," Meghan says. "With just the water pressure, some areas were already tan-free (though I imagine this happens more if you leave the remover on for longer, as I did) – no scrubbing or exfoliating required."

One in four Brits leave a gig early and miss encore for surprising reason
A quarter of concert attendees tend to give the encore a miss and make an early exit, with a third prioritising their wellbeing for the following day. A poll of 2,000 music enthusiasts revealed that one in four prefer the idea of unwinding post-gig rather than sticking around for the final tune. Interestingly, it's the Gen Z demographic who are most likely to make a swift exit. Tiredness also factors in, with 36 per cent of adults admitting concern about how they'll feel the next morning. Furthermore, 37 per cent indulge in self-care post-concert to ensure they wake up refreshed the next day. However, this post-gig routine may not be as effective as hoped, with over half of all adults typically waking up from their post-concert slumber feeling tired and worn out. The study was commissioned by Holiday Inn Express, which has teamed up with Will Best and AJ Odudu to introduce limited edition 'Fresh or Fried' packages - available online and at participating hotels. These packages include items such as hydration sachets, earplugs, caffeine gum, sleep-enhancing essential oils and under-eye cool masks - all designed to aid concertgoers in their post-gig recovery. Guests can choose between the two options based on how they typically feel the morning after a gig. Almost half of those surveyed said they prefer to wake up at their usual time after a gig, while 38 per cent enjoy sleeping in and having a 'lazy day '. Will Best said: "I go to lots of gigs, but I still have to get up early for breakfast radio, so while I have fun and definitely indulge in some questionable dad dancing, I still like to wind down properly afterwards. "A great sleep, strong coffee and a decent breakfast is what I need when I get up so I'm ready to tackle the day," he added. AJ Odudu, on the other hand is the opposite: "I am a night owl and I always get a second wind, especially when in a concert environment - I definitely get that from my mum!" The research revealed that for many, it's just as much about the pre-gig preparation as it is afterward, with 16 per cent taking a pre-show nap and eight per cent even meditating beforehand. These practices are particularly popular among Gen Z (21 per cent and 17 per cent) and Millennials (29 per cent and 17 per cent). The survey found that Ed Sheeran topped the list of this summer's most anticipated performances, with Oasis claiming second position. Beyoncé secured third spot, whilst Billie Eilish ranked fourth and Olivia Rodrigo completed the top five. Holiday Inn Express spokesperson, John Wright, said: "As the research shows gig goers have different approaches - some are night owls who stay up until dawn, while some are self-care enthusiasts who prefer a more relaxed concert experience. "It's important that everyone can enjoy iconic summer concerts, and the morning after, in a way that suits them best. Our Fresh or Fried care packages were designed with these distinct personas and gig routines and behaviours in mind."

Yet Richard Madeley proved he knows how to stretch the pennies as he brought his own bread roll along for a pub lunch at the Duke of York in London on Tuesday. The presenter, 69, had ordered a bowl of soup for the occasion and a large glass of rosé to accompany his side. The broadcaster, who is reportedly paid a whopping £300K a year, was said to be left furious but managed to negotiate a new part time contract with bosses, which would see his hours and pay significant cut. Meanwhile, according to the The Sun, Lorraine Kelly, 65, whose own show has been cut down to 30 minutes, was 'asked to retire' but she declined, opting instead to see out her reported £500K contact before leaving ITV for good at the end of next year. A source told the publication: 'This one has really rocked the ITV corridors because Richard is such a big name and a legend of daytime telly. 'On Wednesday, word started to spread he'd been axed. But, by Friday, it became apparent Richard had a meeting with the network's most senior bosses and he's now being kept on in a more part-time role. 'He's got himself back on the show — but his hours are significantly cut.'
