Bill Belichick, North Carolina football docuseries coming to Hulu
A docuseries featuring Belichick and the Tar Heels is reportedly coming to Hulu, according to Front Office Sports on Friday, July 18.
North Carolina was nearly the team to be featured this offseason on HBO's "Hard Knocks," a show that chronicles one NFL team during training camp each season. The Tar Heels would've been the first college program ever featured on the show, although the plans reportedly fell through just days before the show was set to be announced.

Multiple reports added Belichick's girlfriend, 24-year-old Jordon Hudson, played an "instrumental role" in HBO moving away from North Carolina for "Hard Knocks," as she requested to be heavily involved in the docuseries. Belichick recently gave his answer on the potential "Hard Knocks" series during a podcast appearance with Ryan Clark on the "Pivot Podcast."
'Hard Knocks is training camp, and we're not training camp. We're just not,' Belichick said. 'That's not what we are. The drama of training camp, who's a cut and all that. Like, we're a season, and they don't want that. Yeah, there are film issues too, but forget about the film issues. Just say you could straighten all those out, Hard Knocks just didn't fit for us.'
Belichick, 73, is a six-time Super Bowl champion head coach with the New England Patriots, which he coached from 2000-23. The 2025 season marks his first year coaching in college football, despite being the oldest head coach in Division I FBS.
Belichick has been one of the largest subjects of discussion of the college football offseason, from his decision to coach at North Carolina to his relationship with Hudson. A docuseries by Disney-owned Hulu featuring Belichick and the Tar Heels is set to be appointment viewing for numerous college football fans.

Floyd Knob, Indiana will play for Little League Softball World Series title on Sunday
The Floyds Knob Little League Softball team will play for the World Series title Sunday against Pennsylvania or Oklahoma at 3 p.m. on ABC in Greenville, N.C. after beating defending champion North Carolina 2-0 on Saturday. "I knew I had to have (starter Briley Mercer's) back because if I'm not having a good day, she always has mine," reliever Grace Fiore said on the ESPN+ broadcast after getting a strikeout to clinch the victory. Neither team scored through six innings, sending the game to extra innings. Alyvia Kolish started the inning on second base for Indiana and went to third when Sawyer Abel bunted for a single. Abel took second on defensive indifference to eliminate the force and with the North Carolina defense playing back, Scarlett Renn grounded to second, scoring Kolish to make it 1-0. With the North Carolina infield still playing back, Fiore grounded to second to score Abel to make it 2-0. It was an excellent display of smart softball by Indiana as Renn and Fiore were able to hit behind the runners and score the deciding runs. Mercer started and threw 5 shutout innings for Indiana, allowing 4 hits and 3 walks but striking out 5. Fiore took over in the sixth to keep Mercer eligible to pitch on Sunday, allowing one hit and striking out 1 in 2 innings to pick up the win.

Tom Brady Gets Trolled For Appearance At Statue Ceremony
Tom Brady Gets Trolled For Appearance At Statue Ceremony originally appeared on The Spun. The New England Patriots honored Tom Brady before their preseason opener against the Washington Commanders on Friday night. A 12-foot bronze statue of Brady was unveiled outside Gillette Stadium. The statue features Brady wearing his No. 12 jersey and his Patriots helmet in his left hand. The stand for this impressive statue lists all six Super Bowl titles that he won in New England. "This is quite overwhelming to me," Brady said. "I feel extremely honored, deeply grateful and, if I'm being honest, kind of old. ... I never dreamed I'd be standing here 2½ decades later, made of bronze and frozen in time. It actually feels pretty appropriate given my 40-yard dash time." A few moments later, Brady threw a jab at the New York Jets. "This statue isn't just for Pats fans. It will also give all the Jets fans something to throw their beers at as they leave the stadium every year." Patriots fans were certainly glad to see Brady back in Foxborough. The rest of the NFL world, however, was too busy trolling his appearance. Some people thought Brady looked like Hollywood star Walton Goggins' character in "The Righteous Gemstones." Here's the comparison that's going viral: While some fans mocked Brady's appearance, others were complaining about the design for his statue. "He should be holding a Lombardi," one fan wrote on X. "Disappointment," another fan said. "No logo, can't even see the 12, and most importantly, no Lombardi???" Personally, we think the statue looks just fine. In fact, the only people who should be insulted this weekend are Jets fans. Tom Brady Gets Trolled For Appearance At Statue Ceremony first appeared on The Spun on Aug 9, 2025 This story was originally reported by The Spun on Aug 9, 2025, where it first appeared.

Broncos vs. 49ers: 5 things Denver fans should know about San Francisco
Ahead of the Denver Broncos' preseason game against the San Francisco 49ers tonight, we asked Kyle Madson of Niners Wire five questions about San Francisco and the 2025 season. Check out our questions and Kyle's answers below. 1. Should we expect to see 49ers starters play much? Not any of the consequential ones. Head coach Kyle Shanahan typically evaluates starters enough in joint practices to have them skip preseason reps. My expectation is a bunch of rookies will play regardless of their status on the depth chart. First-round pick Mykel Williams hyperextended his knee in Thursday's practice and won't play. Chances are we won't see any of Christian McCaffrey, Nick Bosa, Brock Purdy and that group of veteran stars for San Francisco. 2. How big were the losses of Dre Greenlaw and Talanoa Hufanga for San Francisco's defense this offseason? I'm going to use a 1-10 scale with 1 being "not at all" and 10 being "they are irreplaceable." Greenlaw is a 7. He was a major piece of San Francisco's defense and they learned last season what life is like without him. Dee Winters and rookie Nick Martin are likely more equipped to replace him than De'Vondre Campbell was last season while Greenlaw recovered from an Achilles injury, but his emotional leadership mattered and the 49ers will need to fill that void. Hufanga is more like a 3. For as many splash plays as he created, he also blew plenty of coverages and allowed big plays by chasing the splash play. The 49ers have some injury problems at safety, but Hufanga isn't as irreplaceable as Greenlaw from a production nor emotional standpoint. 3. Who is an underrated 49ers player expected to play Saturday that we should keep an eye on? On offense it'll be worth watching Corey Kiner. With rookie RB Jordan James out with a broken finger, Kiner should have a ton of opportunities in a game situation to move his way up the depth chart. As of now he's on the wrong side of the roster bubble. On defense it's cornerback Jakob Robinson. He has flashed a few times in camp and this preseason game will be his first real chance to make his case to stick around on the 53-man roster. 4. From a neutral NFC perspective, what's your projection for Bo Nix's second season in the NFL? Bo Nix rules. I try to avoid immediately trying to figure out whether a QB is in the Josh Allen/Patrick Mahomes/Lamar Jackson tier. Nix is awesome because he executes an offense designed by a really good coach. Whether he's a "carry a team on his own" guy remains to be seen, but it also doesn't matter. What he did as a rookie was super impressive and I think he's only going to get better. Denver is a legitimate Super Bowl contender in the AFC thanks in part to Nix's ability to produce. 5. The chances of the 49ers and Broncos meeting again at Levi's Stadium in February are …? Extremely slim! The AFC is a gauntlet in itself, but I'm not sure the 49ers are a Super Bowl team. For that to happen they'd need to have everything go right from a health perspective, they'll need multiple rookies to be stars right away and they'll need players like Winters and wide receiver Ricky Pearsall to have breakout seasons. On top of that they need Purdy to return to 2023 form. That's a lot that has to go right for San Francisco. Add in the slog ahead of Denver in the AFC and it's really difficult to draw a roadmap to a Super Bowl LX for both of these teams. Saturday's game will begin at 6:30 p.m. MT (view the television channels and streaming info here). Social: Follow Broncos Wire on Facebook and Twitter/X!
