Michelle Keegan lands major six-figure deal in first project since welcoming baby Palma
Michelle Keegan has reportedly signed up for a major TV project, which will be her first on-screen role since giving birth to her daughter Palma in March.
Michelle Keegan has reportedly landed an eye-watering six figure deal after welcoming her daughter Palma with husband Mark Wright. T he Fool Me Once star, 38, and former TOWIE star, 38, welcomed daughter Palma Elizabeth Wright on March 6, and took to social media to share their happy news earlier this year.
Alongside a black and white snap of them holding their newborn's tiny hand, the couple wrote: "Together we have a new love to share … Our little girl. Palma Elizabeth Wright … 06.03.25." The former Corrie star recently celebrated her 38th birthday with Mark and Palma while enjoying the Spanish sun in Marbella.
She is now reportedly set to embark on her first big project since becoming as mum as The Sun reports she has reportedly signed a contract to become a promotional face for Sky. The publication has reported that Keegan will film advertising material for the broadcaster, alongside Luther star Idris Elba, who has long been a brand ambassador for Sky.
Michelle already has an existing relationship with Sky, having starred in comedy-drama Brassic since 2019, the Metro reports.
Sky confirmed production is well underway on the show's seventh and final series which will return to screens later this year.
This led to some speculation that the show had been suddenly axed but Michelle, who plays Erin Croft in the programme, took to Instagram to shut down these rumours.
Sharing a video of the cast, she wrote: "And just for the record… Brassic has not been 'AXED' or 'cancelled' it's come to a natural end after 6 fantastic seasons and we're currently in the middle of making the 7th and final season."
The post on her Instagram stories continued: "Sending love to all the Brassic fans out there."
Sky were also keen to reiterate that Brassic had not been axed after hailing it as their most successful comedy ever.
A spokesperson said: "Fans very quickly became attached to this dynamic group of friends, as they found unconventional ways to win at life in northern suburbia."
"We would like to thank Joe Gilgun, Danny Brocklehurst and the whole cast and crew – past and present – for bringing us all a truly iconic series, which we've loved for its special mix of hilarity and heart."
Brassic first premiered in August 2019 and will be coming to an end later this year, with no official release date being confirmed as of yet.
One of Keegan's most successful roles to date came early last year when she played the leading character, Maya Stern, in the on-screen adaptation of Harlan Coben's novel, Fool Me Once.
The thriller series, which dropped on Netflix on January 1 2024, was a huge success on the streaming platform.
Fool Me Once was number one in 91 Netflix countries and seen by 61 million people in the first two weeks.
Michelle was applauded for her outstanding performance and described the reaction to the show as "overwhelming".
She was honoured with the 2024 Variety Club Silver Heart Award for outstanding achievement in global television and streaming for her role in Fool Me Once.

Squid Game boss confirms mind-blowing spin-off idea that has to happen
To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video In just a couple of weeks, the final season of Squid Game is set to launch on Netflix. Fans around the world are in a state of disbelief that the South Korean dystopian TV phenomenon is drawing to a close, concluding the story of Seong Gi-hun, aka Player 456 (Lee Jung-jae). However, it might not be the absolute end, as the creator of the show Hwang Dong-hyuk revealed his gripping idea for a spin-off to Metro at last night's London premiere for season three. The writer previously expressed interest in continuing the franchise, but he's now finally shared the details of what his idea would entail with familiar, terrifying characters… and we're desperate to see this fascinating plot play out. While standing alongside lead actor Lee Jung-jae, Hwang Dong-hyuk emphasised that there was 'nothing concrete yet' for an official spin-off. Wake up to find news on your TV shows in your inbox every morning with Metro's TV Newsletter. Sign up to our newsletter and then select your show in the link we'll send you so we can get TV news tailored to you. Nonetheless, he's thought long and hard about how the Squid Game universe could live on, suggesting that they could delve into the backstories of people including the sinister Frontman (Lee Byung-hun) and the Recruiter (Gong Yoo). 'This is just some ideas that I've been throwing around during production. But there's a three-year gap between season one and two, since Gi-hun turns away from the plane,' he said. 'So I'd like to maybe look into the lives of those behind the mask, the Frontman, the Recruiter and Captain Park. How did they meet? What did they do during the three years? 'How did they stay on top of Gi-hun and whatnot? So that's something that I'm thinking about. I have to make it!' Metro TV Editor, Sabrina Barr When I first heard that there was talk of a Squid Game spin-off series, I envisioned a show taking place after the events of season three, perhaps following Gi-hun's daughter as she seeks revenge for her father, if he doesn't make it out of the game for a second time. However, hearing Hwang Dong-hyuk talk about the possibility of a sequel series that would fill in the blanks of that three-year gap between seasons one and two has piqued my interest greatly. I would still love to delve into the aftermath of the original series, but there is so much history about the game that we don't know, with ample content that could pack out a prequel focusing on the Frontman, the Recruiter and Captain Park. Alternatively, I also think it would be fascinating to watch a prequel on the very first Squid Game, so that we can find out how the game started in the first place, and what it was like in that inaugural year. On the other hand, maybe part of the allure that surrounds Squid Game is the sense of mystery, with the audience never being privy to the answers that they crave. Either way, I'm elated that it definitely feels as though there is more Squid Game to come in the future. The Frontman and the Recruiter have been a part of Squid Game since the beginning, although the former was only unmasked at the very end of season one, when he revealed himself to his brother, detective Detective Hwang Jun-ho (Wi Ha-joon). The latter shed light on his backstory in season two, when he explained to Gi-hun that he willingly shot his own father dead during the game while he was working as a soldier. To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Captain Park (Oh Dal-su) was introduced in season two as the fisherman who saved Hwang Jun-ho's life when he was shot by his brother and fell from a cliff into the sea. More Trending In season two, the captain was shown helping the police detective to search for the island where Squid Game takes place, but it was later revealed that he was actually a double agent working for the Frontman. Learning how this trio worked together behind the scenes, and how they were able to keep tabs on Gi-hun in the three years after he won the game, would add a new layer to one of the most thought-provoking thrillers on TV. "It doesn't agree with everybody and it obviously didn't agree with me at all.' 4

‘Who did it better me or Trent?' – Scotland star asks fans to rate his Spanish as he upstages new Real Madrid superstar
Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) A FORMER Scotland star aimed a cheeky comment in response to Trent Alexander-Arnold after he surprised fans by speaking Spanish in his first Real Madrid press conference. The former Liverpool right-back addressed supporters fluently in their native tongue during his official unveiling in Madrid yesterday. Alexander-Arnold only decided his next move in March, but the revelation left many Liverpool fans wondering if he's been eyeing a switch to Spain for some time. Others were just impressed by his knowledge of the language without even living there. Ex-Scotland striker Oli McBurnie, however, couldn't help but share his own talents after being made aware of the right-back's first media address in Spain. He shared a video highlighting his own Spanish skills on social media, asking fans if he's mastered the language better than Alexander Arnold. McBurnie moved to the country last summer when he joined Las Palmas on a free transfer and has been fluent in Spanish for some time. A clip of him answering interview questions in Spanish resurfaced after the new Real Madrid signing's surprise press conference. He shared the impressive video with the caption: "Who did it better me or Trent?" His followers were certainly impressed as many replied saying he did in fact have the edge over the former Liverpool man - despite them not being able to actually understand what's been said. Others, however, poked fun at the striker's accent in the video. 'This is so impressive' - Fans amazed as Oli McBurnie speaks in flawless Spanish just months after joining LaLiga One fan joked: "The fact that you did it after having inhaled helium makes yours more impressive." That comment was met with a number of laughing emojis from McBurnie himself. While another added: "Nailed the accent." McBurnie only netted three goals in La Liga last season, but he did register an assist in his first game against Real Madrid last August as Las Palmas held the giants to a 1-1 draw. But the former Sheffield United hitman won't have the chance to go head-to-head with Alexander-Arnold in the league next season after his team suffered relegation, finishing 19th in La Liga.
