Restore Article 370 and full statehood to take people of J&K into confidence: M A Baby of CPI(M)
The CPI (M) general secretary
M A Baby
on Wednesday addressed a party gathering in Srinagar demanding the immediate restoration of
Article 370
and full statehood of Jammu and Kashmir.
Baby was leading party's parliamentary delegation on their two day visit to Kashmir during which they went to the shelling hit areas in Uri of northern Kashmir, met various political leaders and family of Adil Ahmad Shah, a local pony wala who was killed along with 25 tourists in April 22 attack in Pahalgam of southern Kashmir.
"Central government needs to take people of J&K into confidence...If we need to fight terrorism in Kashmir, we need to ensure that democratic rights are restored that were cancelled with the abrogation of Article 370. "Terrorists committed horrendous crime in Pahalgam on April 22 and they wanted to divide people of J&K and people of India on religious lines. But people of J&K and People of India refused to succumb to their strategy of dividing people," said Baby. The CPI (M) leader said that after April 22 attack in Pahalgam people of J&K stood with the people of India and now it is the time for the central government to do what is necessary to take people of Kashmir into confidence.
"We had problem at the borders but now the ceasefire has been declared. This is the time to reflect on what security lapses led to the murder of innocent people in Pahalgam," said Baby adding, "central govt is ruling J&K as it is a Union Territory. Our demand is that there has to be a special session of the parliament to discuss all these issues."
Live Events
The CPI(M) leader rued that despite assembly elections and an elected government, constitutional and democratic rights of people have not been restored here.
"The Unified Command meeting (of security) was led by an employee of the central government-- Lieutenant Governor--and an elected Chief Minister was not even allowed to be present there," said Baby adding, "What will people of J&K think about this. Terrorists will use issues like these to recruit more people."
The CPI(M) leader also reminisced that one of the survivors of
Pahalgam attack
Aarti from Kerela, whose father was killed in front of her eyes has maintained that she may have lost her father here but has found two Kashmiri brothers who helped her through the tough times and are still in touch with her.
"This is the real message from the people of Kashmir to the people of India and the whole world. She still adores the new bond with the people of Kashmir despite the tragic incident in her life," said Baby.
The CPI (M) leaders met parents of Shah, a local pony wala, who was killed in Pahalgam while trying to protect lives of tourists. "Our members of the parliament will raise all the issues on the floor of the both the houses in the parliament," said Baby. The CPI(M) also demanded release of political prisoners, decrease in electricity fee, rationalization of reservation policy and lifting of restrictions on media.
The CPI(M) legislator from Kashmir, Muhammad Yusuf Tarigami, from Kulgam in southern Kashmir, said that the people of J&K are not beggars and have survived the worst of the oppressions with their grit and determination but the actions of August 5, 2019 have far reaching consequences.
"Ours is the only area in the whole region where geographical boundaries were changed by imposing curfew, lockdown and communication blockade," said Tarigami adding, "this assault can be repeated in other parts of the country as well and it has happening right now."
"On August 5, 2019, it was not just an assault on J&K but on the democracy and constitution of this country. It was J&K then and tomorrow it could be Tamil Nadu, Kerela, West Bengal, Orrisa or any other state," said Tarigami adding, "how will media write all this as they are constantly staring at a possible PSA, UAPA or a jail term."
The delegation who visited Kashmir included Lok Sabha MPs Amra Ram, K Radhakrishnan, Su Venkatesan and Rajya Sabha MPs John Brittas, Bikash Ranjan Bhattacharya, A A Rahim.

College teachers await 7th pay panelimplementation
Ludhiana: The 7th pay commission is yet to be implemented in aided colleges, despite Punjab govt promising to do so three years ago. The govt has been making tall claims about bringing about a revolution in education, but nothing has been done about higher education, members of Punjab and Chandigarh College Teachers Union (PCCTU) have alleged. Varun Goel of the Union recently said though the Centre is considering bringing about the 8th pay commission, Punjab govt is yet to implement even the 7th pay. "It is shameful that the CM had made the announcement on Sept 5, 2022 in Anandpur Sahib, which happens to be the constituency of education minister Harjot Bains, that from October that year the 7th pay commission would be implemented in the aided colleges of Punjab, but nothing has been done until now." More than 2,000 sactioned teaching posts out of 3,600 are lying vacant in aided colleges across Punjab. Vinay Sophat, vice-president, All India Federation of University and College Teachers' Organisation (AIFUCTO), said, "The govt had put a ban on recruitment of teachers in aided colleges. Similar is the case with non-teaching staff. It has become impossible to run colleges due to the acute shortage of teachers and other staff. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Memperdagangkan CFD Emas dengan salah satu spread terendah? " Making matters worse, teachers in many aided colleges have not received their salaries for five months. "Nowadays, when it is hard to run a household even when the salaries come on time, politicians and those in the management can't see how will we run our houses and take care of our families and children," a teacher complained. "Our salaries would invariably be delayed by two to three months, but it has crossed all limits this times," he added. They recently submitted a memorandum to opposition leaders, including Congress candidate Bharat Bhushan Ashu, with their demands. Follow more information on Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad here . After wink and nod for Israeli attack, Trump warns Iran to make deal of suffer worse fate
US President Donald Trump TOI correspondent from Washington: US President Donald Trump on Friday urged Tehran to even now make a deal renouncing its nuclear programme before things "get worse" and there is "nothing left," despite Israel appearing to have defied Washington to attack Iran. In a convoluted post on Truth Social that suggested a "win and a nod policy" that greenlighted the US attack, Trump claimed that he "gave Iran chance after chance to make a deal.. but no matter how hard they tried, no matter how close they got, they just couldn't get it done." US interlocutors were engaging with Iran in talks in Oman when Israel seemed to have jumped the gun. Bizarrely, Trump also boasted about the lethality of US weapons in the post and signalled support for Israel's action despite its defiance, saying, "I told them (Iranians) it would be much worse than anything they know, anticipated, or were told, that the United States makes the best and most lethal military equipment anywhere in the World, BY FAR, and that Israel has a lot of it, with much more to come - And they know how to use it. " "Certain Iranian hardliner's spoke bravely, but they didn't know what was about to happen. They are all DEAD now, and it will only get worse!" Trump warned, adding that there has already been great death and destruction, "but there is still time to make this slaughter, with the next already planned attacks being even more brutal, come to an end." The US President had been pursuing a diplomatic solution with Tehran to conclude a nuclear deal curbing Iran's nuclear program, and his administration had repeatedly urged Israel to refrain from military action to avoid derailing talks. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like เทรด Bitcoin และ Ethereum - ไม่ต้องใช้กระเป๋าเงิน! Faced with Prime Minister Netanyahu's defiance, Trump tamely chose to support the attack, urging "Iran must make a deal, before there is nothing left, and save what was once known as the Iranian Empire. " Some analysts though said US diplomacy actually served as cover for the surprise Israeli attack, lulling Iran into complacency. Acknowledging that he had been informed before the attack and the US had provided 'exquisite' intelligence support to Israel, Trump however said but the US did not participate in the strikes and no military role in the attack.

Does Israel-Iran crisis pose biggest threat to Donald Trump's Presidency?
Israel-Iran war like crisis has the backing of the USA but the Middle-East crisis is forcing President Donald Trump to walk a political tightrope between the hawks in his base and the isolationists who helped sweep him to power. Trump ran for reelection as a peacemaker who distained the foreign adventures of his predecessors, boasting that he would have little difficulty ending conflicts in the Middle East and Ukraine. Many Trump followers see Israel's offensive as the sternest test yet of his "America First" credentials, fearing that he will allow the United States to get dragged into the hostilities, according to AFP report. Win-win or Sticky Situation for Donald Trump The announcement of strikes was applauded by Mark Levin, a rightwing political analyst and longstanding Trump loyalist. Beyond the government buildings and TV studios of Washington, however, Trump's Make America Great Again, or MAGA, activists oppose US boots on the ground abroad and warn against shows of support for Israel. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Remember Charlie Sheen's Ex-Wife? Levin received blowback from Tucker Carlson, a leading voice on the American far right, who posted on X that his former Fox News colleague was "hyperventilating" to distract from the real goal -- regime change in Iran. Live Events US Stance on Israel vs Iran Secretary of State Marco Rubio, normally a foreign policy hawk, was quick to distance the United States from Israel's "unilateral" strikes, which hit uranium-enrichment facilities and killed top Iranian military officials. Trump himself had repeatedly insisted that Iran could not be allowed to have nuclear weapons -- but made clear before the strikes that he was against military action. Donald Trump Midterm Elections Charlie Kirk, a pro-Israel online MAGA star and one of Trump's staunchest allies, went live on his podcast to find out how his pro-Trump audience was reacting to events. "The emails are so largely overwhelmingly against Israel doing this, I'd say it's probably a 99 to one," Kirk said. Kirk asked his five million X followers if America should "get involved in Israel's war against Iran" and almost 90 percent of the 300,000+ people who had responded by Friday morning said no. Fellow MAGA activist Jack Posobiec warned before the strikes that they would "disastrously split" Trump's coalition. "Trump smartly ran against starting new wars, this is what the swing states voted for," he said. He claimed, "The midterms are not far and Congress' majority is already razor-thin. America First!" FAQs Q1. Who is President of USA? A1. President of USA is Donald Trump. Q2. What is full form of MAGA? A2. The full form of MAGA is "Make America Great Again".
