Jin would 'give a kidney' to precious BTS members if they're sick, singer's remark 'truly breaks' fans
BTS' Jin has once again touched the hearts of fans across the globe, not through music or performance this time, but through his words. During his special appearance on the Japanese variety program Since Those Days, hosted by Arashi's Masaki Aiba, Jin offered a rare moment of reflection. He shared a heartfelt glimpse into how deeply he values his fellow BTS members.
The episode featured a warm and personal journey through Kyoto. With the theme 'Kyoto Gourmet Journey,' the episode followed Aiba and Jin as they explored the cultural and culinary richness of Japan. Their first stop was a stylish ramen restaurant recently listed in the Michelin Guide Kyoto-Osaka 2025. The two bonded over the fusion of art and food. Amid steaming bowls of noodles, the pair engaged in honest conversations about their lives over the past months.
Next, the two visited a charming local candy shop. There, Aiba introduced Jin to Dagashi. It is a nostalgic Japanese snack that has been a part of childhoods for generations. This light-hearted stop quickly turned into something more sentimental as both stars opened up about their early years, the pressures of debuting young. They also discussed what ultimately led them to pursue careers in the entertainment industry.
In one of the most poignant parts of the show, Aiba guided Jin through a traditional Japanese tea ceremony. It was Jin's first time participating in the ritual. But the moment that left fans deeply emotional came during a casual yet sincere exchange between the two stars.
Aiba asked Jin a simple question: 'What does the team mean to Jin?' Jin, known for his sense of humor and calm presence, surprised everyone with a raw and vulnerable response. 'I think the team is made up of people who can make up for the things I lack,' he said softly.
'They're the ones who give me strength. If a member said they were sick, I think I'd even be willing to give them a kidney. That's how precious they are to me.'
The honesty in Jin's answer instantly resonated with ARMY, BTS' global fanbase. Many took to social media to express how touched they were, with some fans sharing how his words reminded them why BTS' bond has always felt so special. The clip of Jin's heartfelt quote quickly went viral, with translations spreading across platforms.
This episode marks the second time Jin and Aiba have reunited on Since Those Days. Their previous meeting on the same program in 2024 had also been well received. Fans praised their natural chemistry and thoughtful conversations.
Currently, Jin and J-Hope are the only BTS members who have completed their mandatory military service. The rest of the members: RM, V, SUGA, Jimin, and Jungkook, are all set to finish their service in June 2025.

BTS stars Jimin and Jung Kook discharged from military service ahead of reunion- WATCH
K-pop superstars Jimin and Jung Kook, the youngest members of BTS, were officially discharged from South Korea's mandatory military service on Wednesday. Clad in military uniforms, the duo saluted and greeted a crowd of devoted fans and reporters who had gathered to welcome them outside the army base. 'Actually, it's been so long since I've been in front of cameras, and I didn't even put on makeup, so I'm a bit embarrassed,' Jung Kook admitted with a laugh. 'I don't know what to say.' The two won hearts with their 'shy' reactions to all the attention. The boys, who were presented with large bouquets, at one point, hid their faces behind the flowers and laughed it out. Jimin and Jung Kook enlisted together in December 2023, just one day after their bandmates RM and V began their service. RM and V were discharged on Tuesday, receiving an equally emotional send-off from fans who lined the streets of Chuncheon City to cheer them on. V, addressing fans following his release, expressed gratitude for their enduring support and hinted at the group's long-anticipated reunion. 'If you can just wait a little bit longer, we will return with a really amazing performance,' he said. With Wednesday's discharge, six of BTS's seven members have now completed their national duties. Jin, the group's eldest, was the first to be discharged in June 2024, followed by J-Hope in October the same year. The only remaining member currently in service is Suga, who has been serving as a social service agent, an alternative form of military duty. His discharge is expected later this month. Back in 2020, the BTS boys were under the radar after an amendment to the Military Service Act allowed them members to delay enlistment until age 30 in recognition of their global cultural impact. In 2022, after widespread public debate over whether the band should be granted a full exemption, the group's management, BigHit Music, announced that all seven members would fulfil their national obligations, ending speculation and winning praise for their civic commitment. HYBE has hinted at a BTS comeback this year, but has also said the members "need time for reflection and preparation". "Normally, the process goes from song production to album release, then a tour," Lee Jae-sang, CEO of HYBE, told a shareholder meeting in March. "But since BTS have already become global top-tier artists, we are continuing discussions about their vision and what's next," he added.

Shining through the city with a lil funk & soul: Bengaluru BTS fans celebrate the band's return from military
Party time with ARMYs Fan groups like Little Sarang Events and BTS Bangalore ARMY have hosted a range of events from meetups to BTS-themed Halloween parties and DJ nights, keeping Bengaluru's ARMY community together through the hiatus. For this Festa, marking the band's 12th anniversary, these two groups have something special planned. As Bhargavi R, the admin of BTS Bangalore ARMY explains, there's nothing quite like a BTS live concert. So, she has planned to recreate the experience in Bengaluru, with a 'BTS Comeback Party' on June 22 at Church Street Social. 'What pulls ARMYs together is vibing to and streaming BTS' songs which feels so much better with other fans around you. With every song, there's also a concert performance, making it more attractive because of the dance and choreography. Since we've been missing their concerts for three years, we've made this special concert film combining clips from 12 years of concerts which ARMYs can enjoy.' Little Sarang Events has taken things to the next level this year on 20th July at Downtown Taproom, Residency Road, planning screenings, games and activities, and a chance to dress up. Sneha Gowda, the co-founder of the group explains, 'We'll be screening BTS' 'Yet to Come' concert, their last performance before enlisting – a moment full of emotion and meaning. There will be fun games and activities based on BTS's journey. We've also invited ARMYs to dress up as their favourite BTS era. The day will end with a fashion walk showcasing those iconic looks' Over the years, both organisers have noted that a dedicated group of fans has made it a priority to continue attending events and keeping the community alive. Bhargavi notes, 'I initially started with 25 ARMYs coming to events. At the next event, there were 35, then 45, and it's been growing. While most are between 15 to 35 years old, I've also had 7-year-olds and 50-year-olds come to events and I'm always surprised by the diversity of our fandom!'

'Finally free!' BTS' Jimin and Jungkook channel peak maknae energy, melt ARMY with shy giggles in first post-military appearance
"Finally Free" is trending online — and for good reason! BTS members Jimin and Jungkook have officially been discharged from their mandatory military service in South Korea. The duo, who enlisted together under the "Companion Soldiers" buddy system — which pairs close friends or relatives during their service — were relieved of their duties on June 11. Pulling up in a black Carnival van and radiating pure maknae energy, the members were greeted by their staff before stepping out to meet reporters. A little shy, the duo giggled with each other as they faced the cameras for the first time in months. Still clad in their military uniforms, they also waved to the people who had been waiting patiently since dawn — something that hasn't sat well with many ARMY, as BIGHIT MUSIC had requested fans not to gather near the discharge site. Jimin and Jungkook speak to ARMY The duo took turns addressing ARMY, sharing heartfelt words one after the other. Speaking in Korean, Jimin said: "First of all, to our ARMYs — from the COVID era to our military enlistment — it's been quite a long time. Thank you so much for waiting for us. Now that we've been discharged, we'll continue working on the big picture we've been drawing. We'll do our best to prepare even better things to show you." Jungkook followed with his own message of gratitude: "Yes, and to the sunbae soldiers who came before us, the soldiers still serving, our peers who left just before us, and the directors who worried—I mean, worked harder!!—than anyone as we lived and worked together, I just want to say thank you for taking such good care of us." Since they couldn't express everything in that moment, the two added with a smile: "A lot has happened, but we'll gather our thoughts and share more with you... in a livestream." Jimin wrapped things up on a touching note: "These memories that I'm truly grateful for — I'll cherish them in my heart for a long time." ARMY react to Jimin and Jungkook's shy giggles Soon after their photos and videos went viral, ARMY couldn't help but gush over how adorable the two looked. Many were especially emotional about seeing Jimin, as he hadn't appeared in front of a camera or shared any updates since his enlistment. More about BTS Jimin and Jungkook completed their service together at the Army's 5th Infantry Division in Yeoncheon County, Gyeonggi Province. With their discharge, they become the fifth and sixth members of BTS to finish their mandatory military duties. Their return follows closely behind RM and V, who were officially discharged on June 10. The group's eldest member, Jin, completed his service in June 2024, with J-Hope following in October. Now, with only Suga set to be discharged on June 21, the full lineup will soon be reunited — a long-awaited moment for ARMY around the world.
