The announcement coincides with the 10th anniversary celebrations of the
NEXA
retail channel, reaffirming the company's pledge to enhance customer safety. NEXA was launched in 2015 to bring a premium automotive retail experience to its discerning customers in India.

Maruti Suzuki's Senior Executive Officer (Marketing and Sales), Partho Banerjee, said safety has always been a strategic priority for the company.
"In FY 2024-25, we made significant strides in enhancing
vehicle safety
, with features like Electronic Stability Program (ESP) now standard across all models, and six airbags introduced as standard in 14 models."
He added that the dual-channel Safety Shield rollout reflects the company's aim to anticipate evolving customer needs and deliver technologically advanced solutions that inspire confidence on the road.
"We are the first company to introduce six airbags in more than 140 variants. It's a mammoth job, which we have done. Generally, the perception was that Maruti vehicles are safe or not. Today, we have showcased that it's not only the six airbags, but there are more than that, including the active and the passive safety features, which comprise the ARENA safety shield and the NEXA safety shield. We are offering one of the best safety standard vehicles, and the so-called doubts that are there in the minds of the consumers just need to be taken off," he told ANI.
Maruti Suzuki's investment in safety extends beyond vehicles.
The company operates a state-of-the-art R&D centre in Rohtak, developed for Rs 3,800 crore, where each model undergoes over 50
crash tests
, including the controlled crash of around 30 vehicles, before launch.
Its safety credentials were bolstered when the all-new Dzire became the first sedan in India to achieve a 5-star rating under the Bharat New Car Assessment Programme (BNCAP). At the same time, the Baleno secured a 4-star rating.
By combining rigorous testing, cutting-edge technology, and comprehensive safety education, Maruti Suzuki aims to set new benchmarks in vehicle safety, reinforcing its position as an industry leader in protecting drivers, passengers, and pedestrians alike.

Former diplomat Vikas Swarup NEW DELHI: Former diplomat Vikas Swarup on Wednesday cautioned that the United States is making a "strategic mistake" by deepening ties with Pakistan, a country closely aligned with China, which he called a strategic competitor of the US. He also spoke on rising trade tensions, saying Washington's recent tariffs on Indian goods are part of a broader pressure tactic. "I think it's a strategic mistake on the part of the US that you are getting into bed with Pakistan, which is in bed with China. China is the US' strategic competitor," said the former high commissioner to Canada during an interview with ANI. His remarks come after Pakistan Army Chief Gen Asim Munir made provocative statements in Florida, suggesting Pakistan could use nuclear weapons to "take down India and half the world" in an existential crisis. Cabinet nod to Rs 514 cr project for solid waste management in city
Patna: The state cabinet on Wednesday approved the govt proposal to make arrangements at Ramchak Beria on private public partnership (PPP) mode for scientific processing and disposal of solid waste collected from 13 urban local bodies of Patna. The project would cost Rs 514.58 crore, and there is also a proposal to produce 15 MW of electricity. The 13 urban local bodies from which solid waste would be collected for processing and disposal at Ramchak Beria are Patna, Danapur, Fatuha, Khagaul, Phulwarisharif, Sampatchak, Maner, Masaurhi, Bihta, Bakhtiarpur, Naubatpur, Punpun and Khusrupur. It is for the first time that Centre has decided to grant Rs 154.38 crore under its social infrastructure project to any state for solid waste management through its viability gap funding (VGF) project. The remaining amount would be met by the state govt from its ring fence account. As per the cabinet note prepared by the urban development and housing department, the suitable equipment would be installed at the Ramchak Beria site for the processing and disposal of 1,600 tonnes of solid waste collected per day. The equipment to be installed includes the one for the production of 15 MW power. The cabinet also gave its sanction to the revised estimate of Rs 82.98 crore required for the construction of a cable suspension bridge near the existing railway bridge at Punpun 'pindsthal' in the Patna district.
