Miss SA Mia Le Roux announces engagement: 'Yes to forever!'

Miss South Africa Mia Le Roux has announced her engagement to partner Luke Ten Oever.
The beauty queen is the second winner, after Natasha Joubert, to get engaged during her reign.
In previous years, winners have waited until their year in the spotlight is over to make significant life decisions like getting engaged, marrying, or even having a baby.
In an Instagram post, Mia Le Roux announced the happy news of her engagement.
The first differently abled Miss SA queen shared pictures of herself with her partner: ' I cannot wait to become your wife!'
'The immense love, patience, and sacrifice you have shown me this year has been nothing short of incredible. From the way you hold space for me with calm and steadiness in life's tough moments to the way we lose ourselves in laughter over the silliest things. My heart will choose you over and over again'.
Mia le Roux added that the couple had been engaged for a while, and that they were now 'ready to share our joy with the world'.
She added: 'We said yes to forever!'
Last year, Natasha Joubert – Mia Le Roux's predecessor – became the first-ever Miss SA to become engaged during her year of reign.
According to the competition, the occasion was above board.
Spokesperson Janine Walker said: 'Since the current Miss South Africa Organisation has owned the title, title holders have been able to date. And once rules were changed to allow married women and mothers to enter, they have been allowed to be engaged during their reign.'
Walker added that winners could also get married or even fall pregnant and have a baby.

Sophie Turner claps back at trolls: ‘Neglect? It's called shared custody'

Sophie Turner champions shared custody while living life to the fullest. Image: Instagram What's motherhood without music, friends, and yes, a little freedom? Sophie Turner just served a masterclass in owning her right to both parenthood and personal joy. With equal parts sass and grace, the "Game of Thrones" alum put trolls firmly in their place by reminding everyone that shared custody is a thing. It started innocently enough: Turner, 29, posted a series of Oasis concert snaps on Instagram, according to online reports. She was beaming, kissing a band member's photo, and loving every minute of it. Cue the trolls. One commenter sneered, "Lmfao I think she has forgotten that she has two kids." But Turner was having none of it. With perfect timing, she snapped back: "Ah, I'm so sorry, sometimes I forget some people can't think for themselves ... So … Get this ... There's this crazy thing called shared custody. Maybe, just maybe, they were with their dad that day,' reported "Page Six". Boom. Mic drop. 'Lmfao that you think concert venues should operate a no parents policy 🤦‍♀️😆,' added someone else. 'Would you say this to Joe?' asked someone else, referring to Turner's ex-husband and the father of her two children, Joe Jonas. Video Player is loading. Next Stay Close ✕ screengrab from Sophie Turners post Image: People/screenshot Motherhood, privacy and public scrutiny This isn't just celebrity gossip, it's modern motherhood. Being a parent doesn't mean your life ends. Moms deserve memorable nights out, spontaneous road trips, and small moments of exhilaration without guilt, judgment or hashtags like #MomGuilt2025. To make this point clear, shared custody isn't unrecognised; it's a common thing. Turner didn't just draw attention to this; she made an educational point, reminding everyone that respecting a parent's autonomy begins with understanding the basics of co-parenting. Co-parenting, across continents, with mutual respect Their approach to parenting post-divorce reads like a case study. Even across the Atlantic, with Turner now residing in England, they line up their priorities: their children. A source told People in mid-2025, "There's a mutual respect [between them] now, and the girls are their priority ... Things between them are better than they've ever been since their split." Joe echoed that sentiment in May on Jay Shetty's "On Purpose Live Tour". He called Turner 'an incredible mom' and celebrated their 'beautiful co-parenting relationship.' He also spoke of raising their daughters to be confident, open-minded, and fearless. 'I have a beautiful co-parenting relationship that I'm really grateful for,' he said. 'Having an incredible mom, Sophie, for those girls is like a dream come true.' Turner shares daughters Willa, 5, and Delphine, 3, with Jonas. The former couple divorced in September 2024 after tying the knot in 2019. While Turner has been open about her 'incredibly sad' split from Jonas, 35, the pair have also seemingly found their footing as collaborative co-parents. 'There's a mutual respect [between them] now, and the girls are their priority,' a source told "PEOPLE" in July. 'Joe and Sophie have hit a surprisingly peaceful groove, and they've maintained an amicable relationship from two continents, which isn't easy, but they've managed to pull it off,' the source added, referring to the fact that Turner now lives in her home country of England. Celebrity culture and online trolls Stories like this strike a chord because they reflect our collective … poking at everyone else's life through a phone screen. But when celebrities, especially moms, push back, it shifts the narrative. Turner's clap-back puts online snoops in the spotlight: why is it okay to police a woman's calendar but not a man's? Fans, quick to notice the double standard, chimed in: 'Babe… she's [allowed] to go out.' 'Lmfao, that you think concert venues should operate a no-parents policy.' 'Would you say this to Joe?' What's also worth noting is how Turner embodies parenting with purpose. In a candid glamour piece, she admitted that being apart from her kids felt like 'absolute agony,' but also said motherhood gave her purpose and helped her work through personal struggles. What's admirable is that this isn't just a clap-back; it's a moment of bold, beautiful truth. A reminder that parenting doesn't erase a person. That co-parenting can be kind and effective. And that sometimes, a bucket hat, a beer, and a night dancing under the lights are exactly what's needed to regroup.

Held at Nasrec in Johannesburg, DJ Zinhle's besties (fans and supporters) travelled in their numbers, with some even coming from outside Gauteng to attend the festival. Next Stay Close ✕ The lineup consisted of most of the country's top artists who performed on the massive stage and there were no technical sound issues and even if there were any, they were quickly resolved. Artists: Nadia Nakai, Nokwazi, Sjava, Sbu Noah, Khanyisa, Brenden Praise, Zee Nxumalo, Makhadzi, Big Zulu, Elaine and Nkosazana Daughter had the crowd dancing and singing along. For her performance, DJ Zinhle curated a set that featured songs from her new album, 'Zee Nation Volume 1', a clever way to get fans to stream her album after hearing the songs live. Her featured artists, Thabsie, Sfundo, Liyema Pantsi, Mthunzi, Sweet Guluva and Brenden Praise took to the stage to perform the songs. DJ Zinhle may be known for just spinning the decks, but she showed that she knows how to bust a move or two, taking part in some of the choreography. Zee Nation is all about the besties, hence no media hospitality, but that's another story. DJ Zinhle made sure to honour her besties by wearing a big cape with their faces on it and they're faces were also displayed on screen. Last night's concert was disappointing. There was no proper signage, the sound was bad,and there was no water or backup causing the bathrooms to be a mess. Also, for a venue that big they should've considered having more screens. Anthony Hamilton being the closing act was just 🤦🏾‍♀️ — uThando 💫 (@thandor_Madie) August 10, 2025 On the other side of Johannesburg,at Walter Sisulu Botanical Gardens, musician Shekhinah hosted RoseFest returned after four years, launched the festival in 2019 but after 2020's covid it took a break. The return of RoseFest was met with high attendance with many of her fans and RnB lovers coming through for the female led lineup. In the North of Johannesburg at DP World Wanderers Stadium, another Women's Day concert took place, headlined by international stars Anthony Hamilton and Joe Thomas and local artists Vusi Nova and Zonke. The event went well but some attendees were unhappy due to sound issues that marred the experience. IOL Entertainment
