Boston Celtics' NBA Cup schedule revealed
The NBA Cup will be getting underway earlier than usual next season. On Wednesday, July 9, the NBA released its NBA Cup schedule, with the opening round of games scheduled to take place on October 31. During their schedule release, the league also dropped the groupings for each franchise.
The Boston Celtics will participate in East Group B. They will face off against the Brooklyn Nets, Detroit Pistons, Orlando Magic and Philadelphia 76ers. Considering the Celtics aren't expected to be a championship contender next season, Joe Mazzulla's team could prioritize a deep NBA cup run, especially to help instill a winning mindset in the plethora of young talent that will be on the roster.
This will be the third season where the NBA Cup has been part of the schedule. The Los Angeles Lakers won the inaugural cup, with the Milwaukee Bucks securing the honors this past season. Boston certainly finds itself in a tough group, but it will likely have enough talent to remain competitive throughout.
During the group stage, the Celtics will welcome the Nets and Pistons to the TD Garden, while the contests against the Magic and Sixers will be played on the road.

On the Boston Celtics signing former two way wing Ron Harper Jr. to a training camp deal
The Boston Celtics have signed former two way wing Ron Harper Jr. to a training camp deal. What made the Celtics want to ink the prospect to a deal this summer? Is the plan to have him compete for the team's final open regular roster spot? Could he dislodge one of the trio of players Boston has under contract for their own two way slots in Amari Williams, Max Shulga, or RJ Luis Jr.? Or is the plan to get him back to the Maine Celtics at the G League level, where he previously played within the wider franchise orbit? The folks behind the "Cyro Asseo" YouTube channel put together a clip taking a closer look at the signing and what Boston's front office might be planning for Brewer. Check it out below! Knicks' former lottery pick makes announcement on international future
Knicks' former lottery pick makes announcement on international future originally appeared on The Sporting News The New York Knicks have made plenty of moves over the past two decades, and one of their most underrated players is making a big decision. While the Knicks are sitting pretty in the upper echelon of the Eastern Conference in 2025, they haven't always been a contending squad. Back in the early 2010s, the Knicks made a huge swing to trade for Carmelo Anthony. While it was an easy decision to bring the star to New York, the Knicks had to part ways with Danilo Gallinari. While Gallinari spent less than three seasons with the Knicks, he was a fan favorite, and someone fans didn't want to see go. While he went to have a successful career across a few different stops, he will always be linked to the Knicks. While he started his NBA journey in New York, he is set to end his international journey in Italy, playing for his national team for the final time at EuroBasket. Revealing his future in a recent interview with Italian outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport, Gallinari confirmed that this would be his final time suiting up for the national team, and explained his desire to win for his country in his last run. "All I need is a medal with the national team and then I can be happy,' Gallinari said. 'It's also difficult to quantify what could have been and wasn't: I started with the national team when I was 17 or 18, when the 2004 Olympic team was still there, and of all the possible summers since then, I've missed eight. That's a lot. I wonder what could have happened if I'd played those eight too, but it's better not to think about it. Anything can happen in any summer, including this one."

Boston Celtics big Neemias Queta gets 12 points, 7 rebounds with Portugal vs. Sweden
Boston Celtics big man Neemias Queta continues to play well for the Portuguese National Team in FIBA EuroBasket exhibition warmups. The Lisbon native put up another solid stat line in a tilt with the Swedish National Team on Saturday (Aug. 16) afternoon, logging 12 points, 7 rebounds, and 1 block in just 15 minutes of floor time. The Celtics center shot a very efficient 5-of-7 from the field overall, and went 2-of-3 from the free throw line for good measure. Ahead of what is looking like a campaign that will see Queta take on a much bigger role with Boston, this is exactly the sort of thing one wants to see, especially given the fact that he is not all that far removed from offseason knee surgery. The man behind the "Tomasz Kordylewski" YouTube channel put together a clip of his best play from that friendly. Check it out below! Listen to "Havlicek Stole the Pod" on: Spotify: iTunes: YouTube:
