Asia Cup cricket to go ahead in September in UAE, BCCI set to announce details soon; No official words on IND vs PAK tie
"The BCCI will host the Asia Cup in the UAE. India is likely to play all its matches in Dubai. There are still deliberations on scheduling," an ACC source told PTI on conditions of anonymity.
Although the dates are yet to be finalised, the Asia Cup 2025 will be held for a little over fortnight in September ahead of the India vs West Indies Test series. India will play West Indies in a two-match Test series starting from October 2.
"Our vice-president Rajeev Shukla ji attended the ACC meeting. He will brief the members. I don't believe in speculations so you will get to know officially in a few days time," BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia said.

'If you have courage': Rahul challenges PM Modi to reject Trump's ceasefire claims in LS
Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday challenged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to reject US President Donald Trump's repeated claims on brokering a ceasefire deal between India and Pakistan. Speaking in Lok Sabha during a discussion on the Operation Sindoor, Rahul Gandhi pointed out that Trump had made the claim 29 times and stressed that if he was lying, then PM Modi should say so in his address to the House. "US President Donald Trump has said 29 times he brought about India-Pak ceasefire; if he is lying, PM must say so in Lok Sabha," Rahul Gandhi said. "If PM Modi has half the courage of an Indira Gandhi, he must deny in Lok Sabha that Trump is a 'liar' and we did not lose any planes," Gandhi repeated. Referring to Defence Minister Rajnath Singh's statements on the floor of the House, Gandhi alleged that the BJP-led Centre "lacked the political will" to fight Pakistan. "Yesterday I watched Rajnath Singh's speech. I listen quite carefully when people speak. He said that Operation Sindoor began at 1.05 in the morning. He said that Operation Sindoor lasted 22 minutes. Then he said the most shocking thing - at 1.35, we called Pakistan and told them that we have hit non-military targets and we do not want escalation. Oval pitch curator 'yelled' at Team India; Gautam Gambhir objected to it: 'The way he spoke really irked the head coach'
The Oval turned into a battleground on Tuesday as India head coach Gautam Gambhir got into a long and heated exchange with the pitch curator Lee Fortis after being unhappy with something during a training session. A Test series that already heated up after Shubman Gill's outburst and Zak Crawley and Ben Stokes' handshake drama a couple of days ago, just got more intense when Gambhir and Fortis were at loggerheads 48 hours before the start of the fifth and final Test of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy. Gautam Gambhir was involved in a heated exchange with the Oval curator. (BCCI - X) Fresh details have now emerged on the fiasco, with India batting coach Satanshu Kotak claiming that Gambhir's strong reaction was in fact a retaliation to Fortis firing the first shots. The Oval pitch curator was not pleased with some members of the squad carrying drinks to the field and thus shouted at them. That, along with a warning to stay at some distance from the pitch, triggered Gambhir, who is all about standing up for his players. During the 2023 IPL bust-up with Virat Kohli, Gambhir's anger stemmed from his defence of Naveen ul Haq, and two years later, little has changed. They are all professionals and, of course, aware that stepping on or getting close to the pitch with actual spikes is dangerous territory. "We have all been on the ground enough and played a lot of cricket. And we all know that curators are a little overprotective or possessive about the square and ground and all. But I think that just looking at the wicket wearing rubber spikes, there is nothing wrong. The curator also needs to understand that the people they are talking to are highly skilled and intelligent," India's batting coach said. "If you go on the ground now, where we practiced, you won't see a single bowler marking his run-up with spikes. And that comes from the head coach. So when you are working with such people, if you sound a bit arrogant and come across like it. At the end of the day, it's a cricket pitch and not some antique that you can't touch. We will not be lodging any complaints."
