Donavan Van Lill: New appeal over Chippenham man's disappearance
'No sign of disturbance'
The last known sighting of Mr Van Lill - a leisure centre staff member and keen Corsham rugby player - was at 01:00 GMT on 3 March 2010 at his home address at 3 Blackthorn Mews in Pewsham, near Chippenham.His landlord, who was also a friend, reported that Mr Van Lill was on his way to bed, and all seemed well. Mr Van Lill was believed to have been at his home until about 10:00 GMT that day but never arrived at the Olympiad Leisure Centre, where he was due to start work at 14:00.Police said there was no sign of a disturbance or any evidence of forced entry, and his white Citroen Saxo was found on the drive where he had left it the evening before.But despite extensive police operations and several appeals for information over the past 15 years, no trace of him has been found.
Police said Mr Van Lill was known as a "reliable employee", so colleagues were concerned when he did not answer his phone.Previous investigations have not shown a reason why he might have "voluntarily left Chippenham without telling his friends and family of his intentions".
Det Insp Debbie Hatch from Wiltshire Police said: "We remain committed to finding out what happened to Donavan."I believe that the local community of Chippenham holds key information that might help us understand what happened to Donavan and urge anyone with information no matter how small or insignificant you think the information is to speak to us."Your information could prove vital to our investigation and help provide Donavan's family with much needed closure" she added.

A 14-YEAR-OLD girl has been left fighting for her life after being struck by a car in a quiet village. The horror collision happened just Friday just after midnight in Yatton Keynell, near somerset. Police said man has since been arrested in connection with the incident which saw the youth run down outside The Bell Inn. Wiltshire Police are appealing for any witnesses to come forward as they investigate the horror crash. "She is currently receiving hospital treatment and her next of kin have been informed. "The driver, a man in his 30s from Wick in Gloucestershire, was arrested on suspicion of drink driving and causing injury by dangerous driving. "He is currently in police custody. Marlon Henriques led officers at speeds of more than 85mph on 30mph roads and dangerously overtook other vehicles in Wiltshire. The 30-year-old driver had failed to stop after being caught driving at nearly double the speed limit, instead leading police on a hair-raising pursuit. Henriques, who police called one of the 'worst drivers' they'd ever seen, eventually had the tyres of his vehicle, which didn't belong to him, punctured by a stinger device. He then crashed into a white Citroen van - sending it flying into a hedge - before crashing into the back of a police firearms vehicle. Henriques, of Tidworth in Wiltshire, has now been jailed for nearly two years for his dangerous driving, which put "numerous lives in danger". Salisbury Crown Court heard that on June 10, Henriques, driving a black Volkswagen Arteon taken from his housemate, failed to stop for police in Bulford. He was seen overtaking two vehicles on solid white lines, and a pursuit was authorised. During the chase, officers had to reach speeds of more than 100mph to catch up with the driver. After failing to stop for officers with their blue lights and sirens on, Henriques instead overtook a vehicle on the brow of a hill - narrowly avoiding a collision with an oncoming army truck. Article continues below He was also seen driving the wrong way round a roundabout to evade pursuing police vehicles. Henriques performed several further dangerous overtakes, driving at around 85mph in a 30mph zone and skipping a red light towards the A338. The pursuit continued in the direction of Marlborough and then onto Ludgershall Road, where Henriques veered onto a dirt road on Salisbury Plain. The driver mounted a kerb to overtake a vehicle at a junction before speeding away from police cars with their sirens blaring. But as he made his way back towards Tidworth, a stinger device was successfully deployed, puncturing the two nearside tyres of Henriques' vehicle. His car smashed into the back of a white Citroen van, sending it into a tree, before colliding into the rear of an unmarked armed response car that was ahead of the pursuit. Article continues below After hitting the unmarked vehicle, armed officers ran up to Henriques, shouting, "Get out of the car now! Show me your hands now!", before detaining him in the road. He later admitted aggravated taking of a vehicle without consent, dangerous driving, driving while disqualified and driving without insurance and was jailed for 22 months. Henriques was also disqualified from driving for four years and 11 months. Following his sentence, Wiltshire Police Roads Policing officer PC Webster said: 'Henriques' driving is some of the worst I have seen. He put numerous lives in danger through his speeding and reckless overtaking, regularly driving through red lights and the wrong way around roundabouts. 'Stopping him involved excellent collaborative work between the Roads Policing Unit, neighbourhood and response officers and I'm pleased he has now been sentenced. This incident took place during the middle of the day and I want to thank all members of the public for their assistance and patience when dealing with this matter."
