Truth behind Phillip Schofield's mystery man who carried him back after boozy pub date

Daily Mirrora day ago
The former This Morning presenter was spotted with a mystery man after a boozy pub date earlier this week - and now the truth about the pair's relationship has been revealed
Earlier this week, Phillip Schofield was spotted being carried back by a mystery man after a boozy pub date with his daughter Molly and longtime friend Scott Brown. The 63-year-old was seen holding onto the male companion as they left the al fresco restaurant.

The two were pictured walking arm in arm as they emerged from LGBTQ+ cinema The Arzner Bar and café in Bermondsey, South East London on Saturday.

The man in question was later revealed to be London-based nurse and academic Joshua Sharman, 30, who is thought to be in a relationship with Phillip's pal Scott. According to Daily Mail, the two men have become Phil's support network and are helping him rebuild his life.

The publication stated that the dad-of-two is 'enjoying his best gay life' and navigating his newfound freedom on the gay scene after years of hiding his true sexuality.
A source told them: 'Phil doesn't care any more. He is who he is and now he is able to be that person,' said one associate of the former This Morning presenter.
'He is spending more and more time in the London Bridge, Waterloo, Bermondsey area of London. It's much more him than Chiswick these days. That's all a bit stuck-up: a bit of a Nappy Valley area, and very family-orientated.
'That isn't who Phil is anymore. They are not his people. He is very much in his 'having fun' era.
'He was having a ball at the Arzner, but he also goes to other venues in the area. He's built up a group of friends in the community and is loving life. It's time to move on and make the most of things.'

One of the reasons for the shift in mindset is thought to be his friendship with Scott and Joshua, with who he is clearly spending plenty of time with.
The Mirror have contacted Phillip's representative for a comment.

Phil resigned from ITV back in 2023 after admitting an 'unwise but not illegal' affair with a This Morning colleague. He came out as gay in February 2020 and has retreated from the spotlight since quitting This Morning.
He apologised at the time for having previously lied about his relations with a member of the This Morning team while married. In his statement announcing his resignation, former Dancing on Ice host Phillip also stated that the "consensual on-off relationship" was "now over".
Phillip however later made a shock TV comeback on Channel 5's Cast Away last year. The three-part series saw him speak about his life whilst left on a remote island for ten days, as well as featuring his family in scenes filmed at home.
He has two children with Stephanie Lowe, 60, whom he is still married to after the pair tied the knot in 1993. The former couple are parents to daughters Molly Schofield, 32, and Ruby Schofield, 29, together.

St. Patrick's Cathedral unveils its largest mural in 150 years, dedicated to NYC's immigrant communities

It's not every day that New York's most famous house of worship gets a glow-up. But this fall, St. Patrick's Cathedral, the 146-year-old Gothic Revival landmark on Fifth Avenue, will unveil its largest commissioned artwork since the cathedral first opened. And yes, it's a showstopper. Cardinal Timothy Dolan announced that Brooklyn-based artist Adam Cvijanovic has been tapped to create a monumental mural that stretches 25 feet high and wraps around the cathedral's entrance vestibule. Titled What's So Funny About Peace, Love and Understanding (Elvis Costello fans, take note), the work will be officially dedicated during Mass on Sunday, September 21. Cvijanovic's sweeping tableau pays tribute to the generations of immigrants who have made New York City what it is today, while also tipping a hat to the city's first responders. Inspired by the Apparition at Knock in Ireland—a vision witnessed in 1879, the same year St. Patrick's was consecrated—the mural marries sacred imagery with the very secular hustle of New York's history. Think saints and angels hovering above, while Irish immigrants stream ashore on one panel and modern-day arrivals from every corner of the globe take their place on another. The cast of characters is vast, realistic and larger than life. Saint Frances Cabrini, patron saint of immigrants, makes an appearance, as does Dorothy Day of Catholic Worker fame, New York's first Archbishop John Hughes and Al Smith, the former governor and first Catholic presidential nominee. There's also Pierre Toussaint, the Haitian-born philanthropist buried in the cathedral's crypt, plus Saint Kateri Tekakwitha, the first Native American saint. It's basically a who's who of New York's immigrant and Catholic history, all rendered in Cvijanovic's luminous, sky-filled style with rays of gold leaf tying the eras together. Cvijanovic, a self-taught painter known for sprawling, site-specific works, says the mural intentionally flattens time: 'Everything exists at once in a heavenly realm where there is no passage of time.' In other words, saints, first responders and everyday New Yorkers all stand shoulder to shoulder.

Chris Robshaw is forced to invest in top-price security to protect his family after being targeted by a stalker which nearly led him to turn down Strictly

Strictly Come Dancing star Chris Robshaw was forced to invest in top-of-the-range security to keep his family safe from the campaign of harassment by a female stalker over the past year. The former rugby player was one of the 15 celebrities to be announced for the BBC show last week, but it has since emerged he almost turned down the opportunity due to the situation. And now friends of the 39-year-old told the Mail about the toll it has taken on his wife, the opera singer Camilla Kerslake, on her mental health after she has been 'left scared to leave the house on her own with the kids'. Ms Kerslake, 37, shares Hunter, five, and 18-month-old Wilder, with her husband of seven years and a source close to the family said: 'Particularly when she was post-partum, she was petrified she wouldn't be able to outrun this individual. 'Normally she's unbreakable, the backbone of the family, but this has reduced her to a shell of the strong woman we all know. For Chris, watching this has been heartbreaking. 'They have invested in top-of-the-range security systems to keep the family safe.' While the identity of the stalker has not been revealed, it is known that the former Harlequins captain briefly met her twice at work events last year. Instead of asking for presents for her birthday, it can be revealed Ms Kerslake requested security upgrades to their Surrey mansion, which last year she gave OK magazine a guided tour of. The source continued: 'They've talked about the idea of a security guard dog because they love their animals but also Camilla especially, would feel more protected. 'It's heartbreaking that it's come to this but that's how seriously they are taking it. 'This stalker business is no joke. She's destroyed the lives of small business owners, families, and left others thousands of pounds out of pocket. 'The claims she makes are sickening, and some of her victims have been left struggling mentally after their ordeal.' Six months after meeting the woman, Mr Robshaw was then said to have been targeted by the woman, who proceeded to threaten violence and spread false allegations about him and his colleagues, after which he contacted the police. It is reported the woman, who is now on the National Police Wanted List, has fled the country and is being pursued by the police. This year's Strictly cast includes Love Island star Dani Dyer, Geordie Shore's Vicky Pattison, EastEnders actress Balvinder Sopal, Game of Thrones star Kristian Nairn, Lioness Karen Carney, Lorraine Showbiz correspondent Ross King and influencer Ellie Goldstein, who made history when she became the first model with Down syndrome to cover British Vogue magazine. Rugby player Chris, Neighbours actor Stefan Dennis, YouTuber George Clarke, Doctor Who actress Alex Kingston, The Apprentice star Tom Skinner and sportsman Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink will also be taking to the Strictly ballroom next month. The BBC show has endured its fair share of controversy in recent months, with it alleged earlier this month that BBC had hired a law firm to probe allegations of drug taking by two individuals. One of the stars involved in the drugs probe was also suspected of drinking while working on the show after crew smelt alcohol on their breath. Wynne Evans, 53, who competed on the show in 2024, was also accused of inappropriate behaviour and forced to apologise for making an unacceptable sexual remark on stage at a press event, which led to him resigning from the Strictly tour. In 2023, actress Amanda Abbington, 51, complained about professional dancer Giovanni Pernice, 34, being 'unnecessary, abusive, cruel and mean' during their rehearsals which she said caused her to quit midway through the season. And in the same year, former Love Island contestant Zara McDermott, 28, was left 'incredibly distressed' following her experience in the training room with Graziano Di Prima, 31, who admitted to kicking the documentary maker, resulting in his axing.
