WESLEY FOFANA has deleted all traces of Chelsea from his Instagram account.
The Frenchman, who has been plagued by injuries since moving to Stamford Bridge, was named as a substitute for their Prem opener against Crystal Palace last Sunday.

Boss Enzo Maresca instead opted to pick youngster Josh Acheampong alongside Trevoh Chalobah at centre-back.
Fofana, 24, has since removed all references to Chelsea from his Instagram account - an action he also took when he wanted to leave Leicester in 2022.
At the time he cryptically posted a message in French to his Insta story.
It read: "My father told me you're going to annoy a lot of people when you start doing what's best for you and I've begun to realise it."

Chelsea were recently rocked by the ACL injury suffered by key defender Levi Colwill during their short pre-season.
Maresca has made no secret of the fact that he wants to sign a new centre-back before the transfer deadline.
And when asked if Fofana could perform the role, his manager said last week: "Wes played 45 minutes in that position.
"It was the first half against Bournemouth away. Probably one of the worst halves since we started."

The Blues actually went on to win that clash 1-0, although Fofana moved to right-back during the second-half when Tosin Adarabioyo replaced Axel Disasi.
Fofana did not play a single game under former boss Mauricio Pochettino due to a serious injury.

The one-cap France international was limited to just 14 Premier League appearances last term as he suffered with a serious hamstring issue.

Having begun the season at centre-back, Fofana briefly returned to fitness to play at right-back in March, before requiring another operation.
Chelsea spent £70million on Fofana in the summer of 2022.
The luckless defender has since managed just 34 appearances for the Blues due to injury - so far working out at more than £2m per outing.

Last summer, Fofana criticised team-mate Enzo Fernandez for singing a derogatory song about France's black players in a video posted to the Argentine's Instagram.

In a since deleted post, the defender accused Fernandez of "uninhibited racism".
Fofana went on to forgive his team-mate following an apology, telling reporters: "I trust him because I know him.
"I know he is not racist. The act… I felt a little bit upset. But now, it is done. It is finished.
"I hope this has educated him a bit, because for sure, it is a different culture. We need to educate about this because cultures are different, a lot of countries."

The exciting announcement comes just after a busy summer for the pair, with Tadhg starring for the British and Irish Lions out in Australia. Pic:The happy couple got married three years ago at Kilkea Castle in Kildare. The pair were surrounded by family and friends, including Tadhg's Munster and Ireland teammates. Tadhg and Harriet started dating in 2018, after meeting on a night out in Cardiff following his return to Munster after playing for Welsh side Scarlets, as reported by Evoke. Harriet followed Tadhg home to Limerick and the rest is history. In 2020, Tadhg popped the question to Harriet after two years of dating, sharing on social media: 'Making 2020 one to remember, feeling very lucky.' It has continued to be a good few years for Tadhg after he was made captain of Munster in 2024. After Peter O'Mahony surprisingly stepped down as skipper following the World Cup, Tadhg became just the third Munster captain since 2013. Following the appointment, Tadhg said: 'It's a huge honour to be named as captain of Munster Rugby and to lead a great group of players into the new season. 'I have had a fantastic six years here and it's an incredibly proud moment for me and my family. 'Very few people have had the opportunity to captain Munster Rugby, and it's a massive honour to follow in the footsteps of some incredible players and leaders. 'I had the privilege of leading the team a number of times in the past and the job was always made easier by the amount of leaders we have in the squad. 'We have a very tight-knit group and it means a lot to me to lead the squad as captain for the season ahead.'

Nick Kyrgios withdraws from men's singles at US Open

Nick Kyrgios has withdrawn from the US Open. The Australian's absence comes as no surprise, with the 30-year-old not having played a singles match since the Miami Open in March. He did compete in doubles in Washington last month, playing one match with French veteran Gael Monfils, but said afterwards that his troublesome knee was "cooked". Kyrgios pulled out of a planned mixed doubles appearance with Naomi Osaka at Flushing Meadows this week and has now withdrawn from the singles, with a lucky loser from the final round of qualifying taking his place. It is the latest blow for the polarising former Wimbledon finalist, who has not played in the US Open since reaching the quarter-finals in 2022. He missed all the grand slam tournaments the following two years because of a knee injury followed by wrist surgery and, although he returned at the Australian Open in January, it was clear his wrist was still an issue and he has played just five singles matches this season

Sonia O'Sullivan less than impressed with Rhasidat Adeleke's World Champs withdrawal

Monday night saw disappointment for fans of Rhasidat Adeleke as she ruled herself out of the World Championships in Tokyo next month after what she called 'a setback' in her recovery from injury. The Tallaght runner was already forced to withdraw from the National championships in Santry last month with an injury and hasn't raced since the Diamond League meeting in London in July, where she ran 22.95seconds in the 200m. In an Instagram post Adeleke explained that 'following yet another recent roadblock, I'm saddened to share that I'm unable to finish out this season. I'll take this time to heal, recover and do what's necessary so I can show up next season as my best self, mind and body.' Photo by Nikola Krstic/Sportsfile It was disappointing news for all involved, but it seems like Sonia O'Sullivan hasn't taken it well. The Olympic silver medalist wrote about the Adeleke situation in her Irish Times column and she didn't seem best pleased with the way she has conducted herself. 'My first concern for Rhasidat Adeleke right now is that she's not being entirely open or honest' O'Sullivan wrote. 'Not just with herself but with some of the people around her,' she continued. The main crux of O'Sullivan's argument is that while Adeleke may not be 100% to run in the individual 400m, she could've been fit enough to run in the women's 4x400m relay, which Ireland finished fourth in the Paris Olympics just last year. 'Maybe another option for Tokyo would have been to just focus on the relay when she realised her individual 400m aspirations weren't working out. If she had the right mindset. That makes you realise, too, the relay will never be a high priority for her. Olympian Sonia O'Sullivan during the Cork City Sports meet at MTU Arena in Cork. Photo by Sam Barnes/Sportsfile 'But I think she could have considered that, taken a lot of the pressure off that way. Again, maybe people are telling her she's better than the relay.' O'Sullivan again went after Adeleke's Instagram statement and is unsatisfied with how this whole thing has gone down. 'Without more transparency, it's hard to assess what exactly is going on. Even her posting a message on Instagram on Monday night struck me as odd.' Rhasidat Adeleke. Pic: INPHO/Eric Bellamy 'Adeleke is one of Ireland's most recognised and popular athletes and I don't think putting out a vague message on social media was the best way to deal with her withdrawal from the World Championships in Tokyo.' There are still several other medal hopefuls in Ireland's roster for Tokyo like Kate O'Connor, Mark English and Sarah Healy. It all gets underway on September 13 and runs until September 21.
