Wuchang Fallen Feathers release date and when you can slash across the new soulslike adventure
Wuchang: Fallen Feathers is poised to deliver a fresh wave of soulslike action across the land of Chu, and Xbox fans might have the opportunity to play it without any additional cost.
The soulslike genre, the gameplay style that just seems to keep going, is going even further yet again. FromSoftware's creation has taken flight, reaching various corners of the gaming industry, with numerous developers keen to incorporate the genre into their own creations.
The sharp and responsive combat of Where Winds Meet's July beta has players eagerly anticipating a new, truly challenging experience, and Wuchang Fallen Feathers appears ready to rise to the occasion.
This new soulslike game, set in the land of Chu during the Ming Dynasty, seems primed to offer players a fresh dose of frenzied sword-fighting action as Wuchang, an amnesiac pirate warrior afflicted with Feathering disease. The game appears shrouded in mystery, but even so, the prospect of slicing enemies to bits with a sword is more than enough to entice many potential fans, even if they don't plan to engage deeply with the game's storyline. It's good news, too, that players across Xbox, PlayStation and beyond are getting the chance to get stuck in.
Fortunately, the game's release is imminent – and fans on a certain console could be about to get it at no extra cost. Here's what you need to know about the Wuchang: Fallen Feathers release date.

Wuchang: Fallen Feathers release date
The release date for Wuchang: Fallen Feathers is slated for Thursday, July 24 at 3am local time globally, with the exception of the United States. This release timing has been disclosed by the game's page on the PlayStation Store.
As is typical with global launches like this, the game will be available for players in the United States at 3am EDT on the East Coast, and whatever that time translates to in their specific regions, which is 12am PDT / 2am CDT. It's an unusual setup for game releases, but at least in this instance it is designed to allow all players to dive in when they wake up on the morning of Thursday, July 24.
The game is set to debut on PS5, Xbox Series X |S and PC. Fortunately for Xbox players, the game will also be arriving on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate on the release day at no additional cost, meaning that if you're a subscriber, you'll have access to the game the moment it goes live.
Soulslike action is always a hit, and given the success that Black Myth Wukong managed to garner, there's a high probability that Wuchang Fallen Feathers could be the next big sensation. Brace yourself for a hefty dose of brutal bosses.

The Shocking Feud Between These Top Celebrity Podcasters
It was one of the most powerful pairings in podcasting. When Call Her Daddy powerhouse Alex Cooper brought TikTok darling Alix Earle into her newly launched production network Unwell, it was clear she was tapping the next generation of huge media stars to follow in her footsteps. But things didn't last when in March the podcast stopped and neither party said very much afterwards. So, what exactly went wrong? Now, six months after her podcast Hot Mess was cancelled, Earle, who has more seven million followers on TikTok, seems to have confirmed rumours of a feud between them. The 24-year-old left some telling comments on her TikTok channel. She posted a video from a car and said, 'My Co–Star told me that I can start s--- today,' referring to the popular astrology app. 'I mean, is this my time that I've been waiting for to go? I have so much information. We could go.' She went on, 'I wake up every day, and I'm like, "What should I do Co-Star?" And today, it's like, "Revenge. Let's go get 'em."' Things got more pointed when a fan left a comment saying, 'Yes, tell us what happened with Alex Cooper thank you.' She responded, 'How much time do you have?' Earle was one of the first people to be signed up to Unwell in 2023, and in March of this year the podcast stopped. Neither Cooper nor Earle gave a clear reason for why it was cancelled. Cooper responded to rumours of the feud on TikTok at the time, saying, 'Alix not being able to podcast has nothing to do with Unwell. [I don't know] why she can't/what's going on.' She also confirmed that Earle had full intellectual property rights over Hot Mess , meaning Unwell wasn't preventing her from resuming. But Cooper indicated that there was actually more to the story in May, two months after the cancellation, when she shared more about the decision to the Wall Street Journal : 'That was, behind the scenes, a little bit of a hot mess.' Earle has previously said she has 'plans to bring things back', but rather than bring the podcast back as was shared she wanted to focus on her YouTube channel. 'We have plans to bring things back, elevate things,' the 24-year-old explained. 'It might look a little different, but I'm excited to see what we do with it.' Rare 40th anniversary merch is a depressing reminder of how far they've fallen
Attempts by Rare to celebrate its ruby anniversary double as a tragic reminder of the state of the studio under Microsoft. Given how often game studios get shut down nowadays, it's almost a miracle for one to successfully stay open for 40 years. Case in point: Sea Of Thieves developer Rare. Although there's no exact date for its founding, Rare has chosen today to celebrate its ruby anniversary, complete with an unveiling of a heritage plaque in Ashby-de-la-Zouch, the English hometown of Rare's predecessor Ultimate Play the Game. The studio has announced a handful of ways for fans to partake in the celebrations, including a fancy new Xbox controller that's available for purchase alongside a range of other merchandise. The new controller, courtesy of 8bitdo, sports the same blue and gold colouring as Rare's logo. While its pattern appears to only reference Sea Of Thieves, you can spot puzzle pieces and feathers on the controller too, alluding to the old Banjo-Kazooie platformers. You can buy the controller from 8bitdo's website, which does ship to the UK, although it will set you back $89.99, which is roughly £68, and that's not including any potential shipping costs. Rare has also partnered with Fangamer on a new range of merchandise, and the Xbox Wire news post mentions plans for a 40th anniversary vinyl collection from iam8bit and an Evercade cartridge collection of 12 retro Rare games. Sign up to the GameCentral newsletter for a unique take on the week in gaming, alongside the latest reviews and more. Delivered to your inbox every Saturday morning. Some themed cosmetics are coming to Sea Of Thieves as well, alongside the game's next season, Smugglers' Tide, which begins on August 14. This includes a 40th anniversary bundle and multiple ruby themed items (including a hat and an eyepatch). Plus, starting from August 6, the in-game store will see discounts on items inspired by old Rare games while Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers will be able to claim an exclusive emote. Lastly, a celebratory piece of art featuring multiple Rare characters is available as an Xbox dynamic background alongside new profile pics for your account. 40 years of @ devoted Rare gamers to single-series stalwarts, we want to show our appreciation for anyone who's visited even just one of our worlds. For keeping an assorted ragtag of creatives working magic in the Midlands, only two words will do: THANK YOU 💙💛 — Rare Ltd. (@RareLtd) August 4, 2025 Such celebrations ring a tad hollow though, considering this comes just one month after Microsoft saw fit to let go hundreds of Xbox employees and cancel several projects. Rare itself wasn't untouched by this, with its next game – Everwild – amongst those cancelled. A new Banjo-Kazooie was also rumoured to be in the works, but that's apparently been canned too. More Trending And while he wasn't laid off, Everwild and Sea Of Thieves director Gregg Mayles, one of Rare's longest running staff members, opted to leave the studio at that exact moment, missing out on the 40th anniversary. Even the new art is depressing to look at, since the majority of the characters featured haven't had a new game in years and likely never will. Seeing Perfect Dark protagonist Joanna Dark especially hurts since a Perfect Dark reboot was in the works at another studio, The Initiative, but that studio was completely shut down as part of the layoffs, with the reboot dying with it. With Everwild's cancellation, Rare doesn't have any new games on its schedule. So, unless it or Microsoft announce otherwise, the studio is currently committed to updating Sea Of Thieves and nothing else. Email gamecentral@ leave a comment below, follow us on Twitter. ITV2 viewers are always left wondering each year which Islanders are smokers after the show stopped airing contestants smoking on screen. Sign up for the Entertainment newsletter Sign up 3 Axed Islander Emma revealed who the secret vapers are in the villa Credit: YouTube / Spill With Will 3 She said 'almost everyone' enjoyed a vape Credit: Eroteme Casa Amor's Emma, who made it back into the main villa alongside Conor, identified which of her co-stars would most frequently visit the smoking area outside the villa. Appearing on Spill with Will podcast, Emma said: "Almost all of them [vape], Helena and Harry were the worst for it, they were always in there." Emma said: "I've tried before, I feel high whenever I try it, my heads spinning." During the earlier seasons of Love Island, viewers watched the Islanders smoke on their screens. But now they have to do it off camera to discourage social smoking. During the same chat, Emma also revealed what her ex and former co-star Harry Cooksley messaged her before heading into the villa. Harry, 30, was initially left stunned when his ex Emma entered the Mallorca villa, and he could be heard saying: "Oh my god, it's my ex." Now Emma has let slip their last conversation before he entered the ITV2 series as a show OG. She denied knowing he was going on the matchmaking series and said: "No, he [Harry] sent me the weirdest text right before he went into holding. "And he basically said 'oh you won't be able to contact me for the summer, please get hold of my mum if you need anything.' Axed Love Islander Emma addresses villa feud as she reveals Islander she was 'scared' to speak to and secret rows that were never aired "I thought oh he's going to rehab. "Or he's checked into a wellness centre, how wrong was I?" Emma, who was recently given the boot from the show, told how she first became aware of his telly gig when she saw his Instagram post. She added: "I wasn't shocked you know. "I feel like this is a bit of him, he'd be the perfect candidate. "And he has been, he's carried the show on his back lets be honest." PLOT REVEAL During their time in the villa together, the pair's connection appeared to take a turn - after Harry pulled Emma for a chat and they enjoyed some banter about PDA, with him even smelling her armpit. Fans were then quick to claim the brunette's "real mask had slipped." This was exacerbated when she was heard discussing the show's £50K cash prize pot on the ITV2 series. In spin off show Aftersun, host Maya Jama directly asked the TV show star why. She said: "You're one of the few Islanders who have actually mentioned the 50k." Emma replied: "We have broken the fourth wall," to which Maya said: "You did, can you clarify what you meant by that? "I think you said something after like 'ahh play along' something like that?" Emma giggled before she said: "Look I'm glad you brought that up because the whole thing was a complete joke. "Harry and I had nothing else to talk about and we are both really playful but I can confirm there was no game plan and we were just being silly. "None of it was serious."
