
Man killed and 13 injured in Machang vehicle collision
The incident occurred around 11.55pm, and the victim, Zulkifli Salleh, 54, died at the scene.
Operation Commander from the Machang Fire and Rescue Station, Senior Fire Officer II Mohd Suhaimi Razali, said the deceased was in a Proton Waja with four women and a 12-year-old child.
"The accident involved three vehicles; a pickup truck and two cars which were coming from opposite directions."
"The deceased man is believed to have been trapped, and we conducted a 'size-up' to extract the victim," he said when contacted on Monday (June 2).
He reported that five victims, including two women and three men from the pickup truck, sustained injuries.
The driver and passengers of one of the cars - a man and two children aged four and seven - were also injured.
Mohd Suhaimi stated that all the victims were handed over to the police for further investigation.
Meanwhile, Machang OCPD Supt Ahmad Shafiki Hussin confirmed receiving the report when contacted.

'The team searched the area mentioned. The victim was found at 5.07pm, about 0.5 metres from the reported location, and was pronounced dead by Ministry of Health personnel,' he said, adding that the body had been handed over to the police. He said the victim was reportedly playing with three friends before being chased by the cattle and falling into the river, located about 500 metres from his home. 5 injured in 7-vehicle NSE crash
KUALA KANGSAR: Five people were injured in a crash involving seven vehicles at Km234 of the North–South Expressway (northbound) today. The accident, which occurred at noon, involved a lorry transporting meat, a Proton Waja, a Toyota Vios, a Perodua Bezza, a Proton Saga, a Toyota Camry and a Mazda3. According to the Kuala Kangsar traffic police, initial investigations indicated that the lorry is believed to have lost control and crashed into the rear of multiple vehicles ahead of it. "The victims were taken to the hospital for further treatment," they said when contacted today. They added that the victims include the 36-year-old lorry driver, the 66-year-old driver of the Proton Waja, the 34-year-old Toyota Vios driver, the 31-year-old Perodua Bezza driver and a 28-year-old passenger in the Proton Saga. "At the time of the accident, the road was dry and the weather was clear." According to PLUS on its X account, up to 2.48pm, traffic was congested for 14km heading north and 10km heading south. Road users were urged to use alternative routes.

Policewoman Dies In Two-vehicle Collision On Gelang Patah–Pendas Road
JOHOR BAHRU, July 29 (Bernama) -- A policewoman died following a two-vehicle collision at Kilometer 28 on Jalan Gelang Patah–Pendas near here, earlier today. Iskandar Puteri police chief ACP M Kumarasan said the accident occurred around 7.15 am when the victim, driving a grey Proton Saga, was on her way from Gelang Patah to Skudai for her shift at the Taman Universiti Police Station. "Upon reaching the location, a grey Proton Waja coming from the opposite direction suddenly turned left at the intersection and failed to stop at the red light, leading to the collision," he said in a statement.
