Man Utd issue Antony transfer ultimatum to force exit before window ends
Manchester United have issued wantaway winger Antony an ultimatum as the star attempts to secure a move to Real Betis. The Red Devils have demanded the Brazilian winger to accept a transfer offer this week or risk remaining on the sidelines at Old Trafford until January.
Antony spent the latter half of last season on loan with Betis and enjoyed his spell with the club. The La Liga side want to see the former Ajax ace return to the club but want to hang on until the final moments of the transfer window to close a deal with United for a loan with option or obligation to buy.
But Old Trafford bosses want to seal an exit, according to reports in Spain, and have already received offers that they would deem financially suitable and do not want to regard Betis as their only option.
Dialogue is said to not be 'fluid' with United reportedly angry over Antony's attitude. A complicating factor is any loan deal would require Antony to sign a new deal in United's eyes with his current contract up in 2027.
Antony remains one of a number of stars training away from Amorim's first team squad. The winger, Jadon Sancho, Tyrell Malacia and Alejandro Garnacho are all in search of new teams with transfers best serving both players and club.
That said, Amorim has made it clear that United will not be forced to accept terms that they do not believe fairly values their players. If transfers are not completed, they will simply have to return to the fold.
"Some players have to find a new place to have space in the team. Other players show they want a new challenge and a new team," said Amorim earlier in the summer.
"We are just allowing these players to think and decide. If they reach a point where they will have to join the team, they will join because they are our players.
"I know for a fact Omar (Barrada, CEO) and Jason (Wilcox, director of football) and the club have a number (price) for these players. If they don't reach that, they will be Manchester United players, no doubt about that. I understand other clubs are maybe waiting for the last minute, but they can have a surprise.
"I'm ready to receive the players. They have more competition. If they want to play in the World Cup, they need to play. I'm happy with that because I'll have more options. If they have to fight each other to play, for me it's perfect."

Disney+ to stream live European football each weekend in major schedule shake-up
Top Spanish clubs like Real Madrid and Barcelona are heading to Disney+ as the streamer lands a three year deal with La Liga. Disney+ has announced a major shake-up in its schedule, including the addition of live European football. From Saturday (August 16), the streamer will kick off its live weekend coverage of the Spanish La Liga. This means some of the biggest names in club football will be shown on the platform, including the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona and Atlético Madrid. The first game to air on Disney+ will see Valencia host Real Sociedad at the iconic Mestalla Stadium, with kick off set for 8:30pm UK time. La Liga games are available with a regular Disney+ subscription, which starts at £4.99 per month on a rolling monthly plan that can be cancelled at any time. Customers can also get the equivalent of two months free by paying for a year upfront on the Standard or Premium plan. Sky Sports' football plan is 66p a day ahead of Premier League and EFL season 'I tried Dr Hilary Jones-backed way of treating allergies and it worked' This plan offers higher video quality up to 4K UHD and HDR, and 12 months for the price of 10. Production and commentary during La Liga games will be provided by ESPN, with a line-up of familiar voices including Real Madrid and Liverpool legend Steve McManaman leading the team. He features alongside former Arsenal and West Ham midfielder Stewart Robson, while broadcasters Ian Darke and Rob Palmer will alternate play-by-play duties throughout the season. Disney's La Liga coverage is part of a new three-year deal and comes as the streamer also becomes the home of the UEFA Women's Champions League across Europe from October. However, football fans hoping to tune into the new Premier League season will need to secure a Sky Sports subscription, with the broadcaster increasing its coverage to 215 games from this season. According to Disney+, La Liga is the most-followed international football league in the UK. This is boosted by high-profile signings of English players, including Jude Bellingham and Trent Alexander-Arnold, who both play for Real Madrid, while Marcus Rashford kicks off his loan spell at Barcelona. Popular Spanish players also add to the league's allure, with homegrown talents including Lamine Yamal (Barcelona), Nico Williams (Athletic Club) and Alex Baena (Atlético Madrid). However, fans should keep in mind that Disney+ will not broadcast every La Liga fixture, with only select Saturday night games selected for broadcast. Karl Holmes, General Manager, Disney+ EMEA, said: 'At Disney, we celebrate storytelling that moves and excites. From the cinematic scale of FX's Alien: Earth to the sharp wit of Only Murders in the Building and the action-packed suspense of Lucasfilm's Andor, our customers know they're in for something special. Now, with LALIGA joining the line-up, they can experience that same excitement on the pitch with weekly matches featuring legendary clubs like Real Madrid and Barcelona and stars like Jude Bellingham and Trent Alexander-Arnold as part of their Disney+ subscription.' Alongside La Liga, the Disney+ library spans everything from documentaries to critically acclaimed drama, comedy to classic animation. Also on the way are new sci-fi series Alien: Earth (August 13), the second instalment of National Geographic docuseries Limitless: Live Better Now with Chris Hemsworth (August 15) and season five of Only Murders in the Building (September 9).

Eberechi Eze remains linked with a move to the Emirates, albeit it looks unlikely that he will pitch up in North London before the trip to Manchester. With all of that being said, take a look at the latest transfer news and rumours - both on the incoming and outgoing fronts - all in one place: Arsenal reject Garnacho Arsenal chose not to pursue a move for Man United misfit Alejandro Garnacho having kept tabs on the Argentine. Garnacho is expected to leave Old Trafford this summer after falling out of favour under Ruben Amorim. According to the Manchester Evening News, Arsenal launched assessments into a potential deal, with North London rivals Tottenham and Spanish side Atletico Madrid. But none of the three have followed through with a move for Garnacho having found alternatives. Arsenal and Spurs hold an interest in Crystal Palace wideman Eze, with the latter also keen on a deal for Manchester City's Savinho. Elsewhere, Atletico Madrid have elected to move for Villarreal star Alex Baena. Arteta plays crucial role Mikel Arteta has revealed the importance he places upon first impressions when it comes to picking Arsenal's transfer targets. The Spaniard is known for his eccentric methods when it comes to management, but with old classics remain - a good chat and determining whether they are ready for the task. He said: 'Personality [is the most important attribute for a player]. Without that, you have no chance. You have to look at somebody's eyes. 'When I go to sign a player, sometimes it's on Zoom and I open the laptop, it's the first impression. Is this guy ready to put that jersey on, work in that dressing room and take all the noise that is surrounding his signing and deal with it in the right way?' Zubimendi explains switch Arsenal star Martin Zubimendi has revealed why he chose to pursue a move to the Emirates just 12 months after rejecting Liverpool. Speaking to DAZN Espana, the midfielder said: 'Last year, I also had my doubts. 'I felt I could still contribute a lot to Real Sociedad and that I still had steps to take. But this summer, I felt like my time had come. 'Once the signing was close, we talked, but he [Arteta] didn't need to convince me. I already knew what I wanted by seeing how the team played.'
