.
Collaboration Began with '
Arjun Reddy
'
In an interview with News18, Harshavardhan explained that his collaboration with Sandeep Reddy Vanga began during the making of 'Arjun Reddy', which helped establish a strong creative understanding that continued into 'Animal'. During the lockdown years, they had ample time to brainstorm and develop ideas. They aimed to create a distinctive sound, such as the Tabbar Brothers unite music and the signature whistle at the film's opening. Their approach was driven by experimentation rather than seeking praise, and as a result, everything naturally fell into place.

He mentioned that although he initially collaborated with Radhan on 'Arjun Reddy', Sandeep recognized his involvement and gave him full credit for the background score, which surprised him. He emphasized the deep understanding between them, noting that they intuitively grasp each other's artistic language with minimal communication, a rare level of trust. Each collaboration with Sandeep energizes him, thanks to the director's clear vision and drive. He revealed that Sandeep pushes him to explore deeper emotional dimensions and create fresh, powerful music, and his confidence inspires him to deliver his best work.

After playing Rashmika Mandanna's mother in Ranbir Kapoor-starrer Animal, veteran actress Indira Krishnan is all set to reunite with Ranbir in Ramayana: Part 1, where she will be seen essaying the role of Kaushalya, Lord Ram's mother. In a throwback interview with Times Now/Telly Talk India, Indira revealed that it was Ranbir himself who recommended her for the role in Nitesh Tiwari's upcoming magnum opus. Indira said, 'I did Animal with Ranbir Kapoor. After that, he recommended me for Ramayana. He is a very grounded person and never shows any starry attitude on the set. Pankaj Tripathi On Comparisons With Irrfan Khan In 'Metro In Dino': 'This Should Never Happen'
Pankaj Tripathi says comparisons with Irrfan Khan for his role in Metro In Dino are unfair and unnecessary. With Metro… In Dino hitting theatres on July 4, actor Pankaj Tripathi has addressed the inevitable comparisons with the late Irrfan Khan. The film, touted as a spiritual sequel to Life In A… Metro (2007), sees Pankaj stepping into the shoes of a character reminiscent of Irrfan's iconic Monty, a quirky, emotionally layered man navigating the complexities of modern relationships. Irrfan, paired with Konkona Sensharma in the original, left an indelible mark as Monty, and in Metro… In Dino, it's again Konkona alongside Pankaj portraying a married couple going through a midlife crisis. Naturally, the film has evoked memories of Irrfan's effortless screen presence, and Pankaj's restrained humour and depth have drawn parallels from audiences and critics alike. In a recent interview with Zoom, Pankaj Tripathi made it clear that such comparisons are misplaced. 'Yeh comparison bilkul nahi hona chahiye. Voh mere senior the aur main unka fan rahunga. Mere drama school ke senior the voh. Hum ek hi acting institute se seekhe hai. Main khud unke craft ko dekhke seekhta tha. Voh Irrfan sir hai, unki jagah hum sabke dilon mein hai," he said. (Translation: Such comparison should never happen. He was my senior and I will always be his fan. We passed out of the same drama school; I learnt so much just by observing his craft. He is Irrfan sir and will always have a place in our hearts.) Directed by Anurag Basu, Metro… In Dino features an ensemble cast including Neena Gupta, Anupam Kher, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Fatima Sana Shaikh, and Ali Fazal. The film explores love and longing in the backdrop of the city and has been praised for its mature storytelling, soulful music by Pritam, and sincere performances. An excerpt from News18's review reads, 'Metro In Dino is a masterclass on modern-day love. It's for the lonely, for the ones who won in love and then lost some. Rush to the cinemas now!" Metro In Dino Box Office Day 1: Anurag Basu Film Opens At Rs 3 Cr, Beats Life In A Metro By 300%
Last Updated: As per early estimates by Sacnilk, Metro In Dino first-day collection marks a 300% improvement over Basu's 2007 sleeper hit Life In A Metro. Metro In Dino Box Office Collection Day 1: Anurag Basu's much-anticipated romantic drama Metro In Dino opened in theatres to a decent start, earning Rs 3.04 crore on Day 1 at the box office. As per early estimates by Sacnilk, the ensemble film's first-day collection marks a 300% improvement over Basu's 2007 sleeper hit Life In A Metro, which had opened at just Rs 80 lakh. While Rs 3 crore may appear modest compared to blockbuster debuts, it's a solid opening for a romantic drama in today's theatrical landscape. The genre rarely sees high first-day numbers in India. The performance is particularly encouraging given the film's scale and its strong ensemble cast featuring Sara Ali Khan, Aditya Roy Kapur, Neena Gupta, Anupam Kher, Konkona Sen Sharma, Pankaj Tripathi, and Ali Fazal. The film is a spiritual successor to Life In A Metro and explores modern relationships across different cities through four interconnected love stories. Anurag Basu's signature storytelling style, combined with Pritam's soul-stirring music, has already received widespread acclaim. Konkona is the only actor from the original cast to return in this film. Metro In Dino has been praised for its nuanced take on love and commitment. An excerpt from News18's review states, 'It's not every day that we get to see a Bollywood love story written with so much heart, maturity, intensity, intimacy and subtlety. Metro In Dino is a masterclass on modern-day love. It's for the lonely, for the ones who won in love and then lost some. It's as much Anurag's film as Pritam's. Zamaana Lage, Dil Ka Kya, and Mann Ye Mera stand out particularly. Rush to the cinemas now!" The film's Day 1 success suggests it could enjoy positive word of mouth, similar to Life In A Metro, which went on to earn over Rs 24 crore domestically despite its slow start.
