Meet the Real-Life Loves of the 'Leanne' Cast (Including Two Newlywed Actors!)

Yahoo5 days ago
While parts of 'Leanne' are inspired by comedian Leanne Morgan's life, the actress has been married for more than 30 years
Leanne explores the end of one relationship and the start of something entirely new.
The Netflix sitcom, which hit the streaming platform on July 31, stars comedian Leanne Morgan in an eponymous role. The show, co-created by Chuck Lorre, follows Leanne after her husband of 33 years, Bill (Ryan Stiles), leaves her for another woman.
Leanne has a large support system behind her during the big life transition, including her sister Carol (Kristen Johnston) and their parents, Mama Margaret (Celia Weston) and Daddy John (Blake Clark), as well as her two children, Tyler (Graham Rogers) and Josie (Hannah Pilkes).
While her character's husband left her in the show, in real life, Leanne has been married to her husband, Chuck Morgan, for over three decades. The series also stars several actors who are newlyweds, including Hannah Pilkes and Graham Rogers.
Here's everything to know about the real-life loves of the Leanne cast.
Leanne Morgan and Chuck Morgan
Leanne stars in the eponymous sitcom as a recent divorcée. Though the show is inspired by her life, it's not entirely based on reality, as Leanne has been married to her husband Chuck for more than three decades.
The couple met while she was studying at the University of Tennessee to pursue a degree in child and family studies after she divorced her first husband. During an October 2024 installment of her YouTube series Never Before Told, Leanne told her daughter Maggie that she met Chuck while she worked at a local restaurant.
"Your daddy, Chuck Morgan, was in MBA school and came to work there — they had a group of trainees come through — and I'm standing up against the wall waiting for my table to be seated," she explained. "He's tall, he's 6'4', he's so thin, he looks like a praying mantis. I mean that in a sweet way. And I said, 'You're as tall as a tree.' '
Leanne and Chuck are parents to three children: son Charlie and daughters Maggie and Tess. They are also grandparents to Charlie's two kids.
Kristen Johnston
Johnston is returning to the silver screen as Leanne's sister Carol, who is twice-divorced with no children. Off-screen, Johnston appears to be single, though she's been candid about her personal life over the years.
The actress previously dated Ryan Reynolds in the '90s and dished on their relationship during an April 2020 episode of Watch What Happens Live. At the time, Johnston said he was a 'lovely person,' explaining, 'It was so long ago I forgot, but literally, so nice, great guy, lovely.'
Graham Rogers and Synnøve Årdal
Rogers is taking on the role of Leanne's son, Tyler, in the new Netflix sitcom. On the show, he's a new dad, and in real life, he's a newlywed. The actor married his wife, model Synnøve Årdal, in June 2025 at a ceremony in Norway.
Rogers proposed to Årdal in August 2024, with the model showing off her engagement ring in several photos on social media.
While the duo haven't shared much publicly about their relationship, they have featured one another on Instagram over the years. In March 2023, Årdal shared two black-and-white photobooth photos with Rogers on her Instagram, adding a simple heart emoji in the caption.
The couple have enjoyed vacations together throughout their relationship, including a November 2022 trip to Cape Town, South Africa, and a March 2024 trip to Hawaii.
Hannah Pilkes and Greg Nussen
Pilkes portrays Leanne's daughter Josie, the antithesis of her brother, Tyler. Off-screen, Pilkes married her partner, Gregory Nussen — who uses they/he pronouns — in October 2022.
The couple met through the improv group the Groundlings, with Pilkes telling Elle in December 2023, 'We met over a sense of humor at Groundlings; we've always been laughing.' For Nussen's birthday in July 2025, Pilkes called them the 'love of my life' and 'as brilliant as they are kind.'
Pilkes and Nussen have worked together over the years, with Nussen directing Pilkes during her debut at the Edinburgh Fringe, per their bio. Pilkes also co-directed Nussen's show at Hollywood Fringe, QFWFQ.
Ryan Stiles and Patricia McDonald
Stiles portrays Leanne's ex-husband, Bill, in the series. In real life, the Whose Line Is It Anyway? alum keeps his personal life private, including his relationship with his wife, Patricia McDonald.
According to his bio for Second City, Stiles met McDonald at the comedy club Punchlines, where he was a regular performer and part of 'No Name Players.'
Celia Weston
Weston plays Leanne's mom, lovingly known as Mama Margaret, on the show. In real life, the actress is single and has never been married.
During a September 2006 interview with the Spartanburg Herald-Journal, Weston was asked what the biggest sacrifice she made for her career was. At the time, she explained, "I haven't married or had children. You travel all the time. How do you buy a house when you don't know what your next job is going to be?"
Blake Clark
Clark portrays Daddy John, Leanne's father, in the series. Off-screen, Clark has a long filmography under his belt including The Waterboy, 50 First Dates and Toy Story 3, but his personal life remains private.
It's not clear whether Clark is married or in a relationship. He has a son, Travis Clark, who is also a comedian. Per his bio for the Laugh Factory, he's had the opportunity to open for his father. Travis lives in Los Angeles with his wife and their dog, Leroy.
Tim Daly and Téa Leoni
While not much has been revealed about Tim Daly's character in the show, Leanne shared on Today With Jenna & Friends that he would be portraying her love interest. In real life, Daly married his Madam Secretary costar, Téa Leoni, in July 2025.
Daly and Leoni met on the set of the CBS drama, which concluded after six seasons in 2019. The couple confirmed their relationship in 2014, with the support of their castmates. However, much of their relationship has been private, leading up to their private wedding ceremony in New York in July 2025.
They were both previously married as well. Daly was married to actress Amy Van Nostrand for 26 years before their 2010 split. Leoni was married to David Duchovny for 17 years and the couple share two children: Kyd and Madelaine.
Jayma Mays and Adam Campbell
Deadline confirmed in July 2025 that Jayma Mays would have a recurring role in Leanne, though not much about her character has been revealed. Off-screen, Mays has been married to her husband, Adam Campbell, since 2007.
The couple have largely kept their relationship out of the public eye. They met on the set of Epic Movie, per a January 2011 interview with TheNestTV, and went to Denny's for their first date. Reflecting on the experience, Campbell told the outlet, 'Every day we were doing something stupid together.'
In April 2016, a representative for Mays confirmed to PEOPLE that the couple were expecting their first child together nearly 10 years into their marriage. They welcomed their son Jude on Aug. 21, 2016.

Seth Meyers Won't Be Distracted by Trump Fiddling on the Roof

Welcome to Best of Late Night, a rundown of the previous night's highlights that lets you sleep — and lets us get paid to watch comedy. Here are the 50 best movies on Netflix right now. Losing Ground President Trump took a walk on the White House roof on Tuesday, where he shouted responses to questions reporters lobbed up from the lawn, such as 'Sir, why are you on the roof?' On Wednesday's 'Late Night,' Seth Meyers said the incident was a case in point for 'the constant tension of the Trump era: Republicans doing something nefarious that will undermine democracy while the president does something weird and dumb that distracts us.' 'And it's not like you can just ignore it. If the president pops up on the roof of the White House out of nowhere, that's at least worth a mention on the news. I mean, if Obama had been caught climbing out a window in the middle of the night, I'm pretty sure Fox News would have covered it.' — SETH MEYERS 'Well, I'm supposed to be getting beamed back to my spaceship, but I guess I got the day wrong.'' — SETH MEYERS, imitating Trump 'Although I think I know why he went up there. He can't answer your questions if he can't hear them. I mean, if his poll numbers get any worse, he's going to start doing press conferences on top of the Washington Monument.' — SETH MEYERS 'Meanwhile, if I saw Trump on my roof, I would assume he's pulling a reverse Santa Claus — you know, going house to house taking toys away from kids. '[imitating Trump] I just signed an executive order that allows me to take your Labubu collection.'' — SETH MEYERS The Punchiest Punchlines (Come On Down, Grandpa! Edition) 'President Trump yesterday was seen walking on the White House roof for nearly 20 minutes. Man, he is so desperate to distract people from the Epstein files, he's literally doing 'Hey, look over here.'' — SETH MEYERS 'Yesterday, President Trump jokingly said he is ready to install nuclear missiles on the White House roof. Why not? Under the same roof they just had four years — years of nuclear waste.' — GREG GUTFELD 'In a new interview, Trump said that he'd like to run for a third term, but will probably not seek one. Trump said that he might not be sharp enough in his mid-80s, and then went back to wandering around on the roof of The White House: [yelling toward the roof] 'Come on down, grandpa!'' — JIMMY FALLON Want all of The Times? Hulk Hogan's daughter explains her personal reason for not attending her father's funeral

Brooke Hogan Oleksy may not have honored her father Hulk Hogan in the most traditional of ways, but she wants her followers and his fans to know how she did remember the legendary wrestler. 'My father hated the morbidity of funerals. He didn't want one,' she wrote in the caption of an Instagram post shared Tuesday in reference to the elder Hogan, who died last month at the age of 71. 'And although I know people grieve in many ways - and I'm so grateful for all celebrations and events organized to honor him, as his daughter, I had to make my own decision to honor him the best and most genuine way I knew how…privately…the way that made me feel the closest to him.' That way, she explained, turned out to be 'in the simplest way that agreed with my soul.' 'We took our babies to the beach, and put them in the same salty waters you loved,' Hogan Oleksy wrote. The post included a series of photos showing her, her husband Steven Oleksy and their infant twins enjoying a day at the beach. She wrote in the caption that 'the only thing missing today was him in is pop up lawn chair watching the waves…' The younger Hogan appeared with her father, brother Nick and mother Linda on the VH1 reality series 'Hogan Knows Best' which ran from 2005 to 2007. Hogan Oleksy has been out of the spotlight for years and privately married Steven Oleksy, a former professional hockey player, in 2022. The couple welcomed fraternal twins, Oliver and Molly, in January 2025. The daughter of the wrestling great reportedly became estranged from her parents over the years and in March 2025 her mother Linda, whose divorce from Hulk Hogan was finalized in 2009, posted a since-deleted video saying her daughter no longer spoke to her or her ex-husband. In responding to her mother's claims, Hogan Oleksy wrote in a statement posted on social media at the time that she ordinarily tries to avoid speaking publicly, 'But I have my own family now and it's affecting more than just me at this point.' 'No contact with my Mom has nothing to do with my Dad, and no contact with my Father has nothing to do with my Mother,' she wrote. 'This also pertains to to my Dad's second and third, now current wife. This decision was made based purely on how they have each dealt with me directly my entire life.' Following her father's death, Hogan Oleksy also shared a statement revealing that despite controversy and public misconceptions, the bond with her father 'has never broken, not even in his final moments.'
