ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) — Mike Trout homered and had a two-run single to close in on two milestones, Yusei Kikuchi overcame Eugenio Suárez's two home runs and the Los Angeles Angels beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 10-5 on Saturday night. After Los Angeles took a 4-2 lead in the fourth, Trout followed Nolan Schanuel's leadoff single in the fifth against Zac Gallen (7-10) with his 17th homer. Trout capped a four-run eighth with the two-run single. He has 395 career homers and 994 RBIs. Suárez hit his 30th and 31st homers, the first a 434-footer in the second into the rocks in center and the second to right center in the fourth to top his total from last season. He reached 30 homers for the sixth time. Kikuchi (4-6) allowed three runs on six hits in 5 2/3 innings. He took a blow to his pitching shoulder in the sixth on Josh Naylor's liner. The Japanese left-hander stayed in, but was done two pitches later when Randal Grichuk singled to make it 6-3. Arizona scored twice in the eighth after loading the bases with one out against José Fermin. Zach Neto and Schanuel had RBI singles in the bottom of the inning against Juan Morillo before Trout's single. After Suárez's homer in fourth, Los Angeles rallied with three runs in the bottom of the inning to take a 4-2 lead. Taylor Ward, Jo Adell and Travis d'Arnaud doubled in the inning. Galen allowed eight hits and six runs in five innings. Arizona's Andrew Saalfrank pitched two scoreless innings in his return from a one-year suspension for betting on MLB games. Juan Soto, Mets stay hot with win over Royals
(Photo credit: Peter Aiken-Imagn Images) Frankie Montas allowed one run while pitching into the sixth inning, and Juan Soto clubbed a two-run homer, securing the New York Mets their first winning road series in more than a month with Saturday's 3-1 victory over the Kansas City Royals. Making his fourth start of the season after missing roughly the first three months with a lat strain, Montas (2-1) was quite solid. He survived a 21-pitch first inning without yielded a run. For the game, he gave up four hits and struck out five; his only earned run came on Jonathan India's RBI double in the sixth. Soto, meanwhile, went deep for the second straight game for New York, which managed six hits but build on Friday's 8-3 series-opening victory to win back-to-back road contests for the first time since sweeping a three-game set at Colorado on June 6-8. Edwin Diaz pinched the final two innings for his 19th save. Kansas City won four straight entering this series, but is 1-for-17 with runners in scoring position the last two days. India's two doubles accounted for half of the Royals' hits Saturday. After scheduled starter Michael Lorenzen was scratched due to illness, it turned into a bullpen day for Kansas City. Angel Zerpa pitched a scoreless first, then Jonathan Bowlan (1-2) pitched the next three, but yielded Soto's drive, with Franciso Lindor on second base, that landed into the second tier of the right-field fountains in the fourth for a 2-0 Mets edge. Montas, meanwhile, allowed two hits through five innings before back-to-back doubles from Kyle Isbel and India to open the sixth made it 2-1. That ended Montas' day, but Reed Garrett came on and retired the heart of the Royals order -- Bobby Witt Jr., Vinnie Pasquantino and Maikel Garcia -- while stranding India at third. Kansas City also stranded runners on first and third in the seventh. With one out in the eighth, Diaz walked Witt, who was then caught stealing after replay overturned the safe call on the field. In the Mets' ninth, Pete Alonso doubled and scored on Jeff McNeil's two-out single into center field.--Field Level Media

Boyd wins All-Star matchup as Fried exits with blister and Cubs stop Yankees' 5-game win streak
NEW YORK (AP) — Chicago's Matthew Boyd won a matchup of All-Star left-handers as Max Fried left early because of yet another blister on his pitching hand, and the Cubs stopped the New York Yankees' five-game winning streak with a 5-2 victory on Saturday. HT Image Aaron Judge hit a two-run homer in the ninth off Brad Keller, his 35th of the season, and became the fastest player to 350 home runs. Playing his 1,088th game, Judge bettered Mark McGwire's 1,280. A first time All-Star, Boyd (10-3) won his fourth straight start and fifth consecutive decision, giving up four hits in eight scoreless innings with six strikeouts and no walks. He threw 62 of 85 pitches for strikes. Judge hit a pair of doubles against the 34-year-old. Daniel Palencia, throwing at up to 101.1 mph, got two outs for his 11th save in 12 chances. Fried (11-3) allowed nine of 18 batters to reach, giving up four runs — three earned — six hits and three walks in three innings. He threw just 39 of 73 pitches for strikes. Fried, a three-time All-Star, was on the injured list for blisters on his left index finger in 2018, '19, '21 and '23. He had been 6-0 against the Cubs. Nico Hoerner tripled leading off the game and scored on Kyle Tucker's groundout. Carson Kelly and Ian Happ hit run-scoring singles in the third around Dansby Swanson's RBI grounder. Kelly homered in the eighth off Jonathan Loáisiga, who has allowed a career-high seven home runs over 23 1/3 innings in his return from Tommy John surgery. Fried fell behind with first-pitch balls to nine batters. New York is 27-8 against the Cubs, including a pair of World Series sweeps. Yankees RHP Will Warren (6-4, 4.70) faces Cubs LHP Shota Imanaga (5-3, 2.80) on the final day before the All-Star break. ___ AP MLB:
