Social Affairs minister hails Yemeni workers' national steadiness, stances

Saba Yemen01-05-2025

Sana'a - Saba:
The Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Samir Bajaala, praised the patriotic stances of Yemeni workers in confronting the aggression and their decision to cancel the celebration of their international day, May 1, in solidarity with Gaza, whose residents are being killed and displaced.
In a statement to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), Minister Bajaala praised the keenness and support of the Leader of the Revolution, Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, and the President of the Supreme Political Council, His Excellency Field Marshal Mahdi al-Mashat, for all the issues and rights of male and female workers, who have persevered in workplaces and production sites throughout the years of aggression and siege.
He pointed out that Yemeni workers have foiled the gamble of the aggression's masters and their henchmen on disrupting the field of work by their defiance and presence in their service barracks, proud of their martyred colleagues in the face of the arrogance of the American-Zionist aggression, and of their fellow workers who work with some international organizations operating in our country, ignoring the tactics of intimidation and enticement practiced by these organizations in their attempts to subjugate them and threaten them with dismissal from their jobs, in service of agendas that serve the goals of the aggression.
Minister Bajaala pointed out that the Yemeni workers' announcement of the cancellation of their international holiday, which falls today, May 1, is not due to a lack of resources, but rather to highlight the richness of their values and morals, raising the slogan: "How can we celebrate when our brothers and sisters are being killed in Gaza and the West Bank in full view of the world?"
He said, "It is true that we were surprised by their request to cancel the celebration, but this is not surprising for the Yemeni Workers Union, with its leadership, pioneers, and members, who deserve our kisses, each and every one, for they are today the bearers of history, in a time that has become historyless."
The Minister of Social Affairs reiterated the Ministry's condemnation and its affiliated units, the Disabled Care and Rehabilitation Fund, the Social Welfare Fund, and civil society organizations, of all the crimes committed by the American aggression against Yemen, which have resulted in the deaths of innocent citizens and workers, the latest of which was the targeting of Ras Issa Port in Hodeida, the Farwa Market in the capital, the ceramics factory in Bani Matar in Sana'a Governorate, and other massacres that are shocking to humanity.

Trump: Families of US diplomats left ME due to "potential danger"

Washington-Saba: US President Donald Trump confirmed on Thursday that families of US diplomats had left the Middle East due to "potential danger," amid escalating tensions in the region. In remarks reported by the American Fox News network, Trump said in response to a question about the departure of families of US diplomats due to the escalation with Iran: "They're being taken out now because it could get dangerous, and we'll see what happens, and we've given them a heads-up to get out." Regarding Iran, Trump added: "They can't have a nuclear weapon, very simple. They can't have a nuclear weapon, and we won't let them." Last Wednesday evening, a US official told Sputnik: "Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has authorized the voluntary departure of military families from locations within the Central Command's area of responsibility." He added that "US Central Command (CENTCOM) is monitoring the escalating tensions in the Middle East and is coordinating with the US State Department and US allies to provide support to any US mission around the world." Earlier on Wednesday, Reuters reported, citing US and Iraqi sources, that the United States was preparing to evacuate its embassy in Iraq due to "increasing security risks in the region." US media: Witkoff plans to meet Araghchi in Muscat next Sunday

Washington-Saba: US media reported on Thursday that US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff will meet with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi next Sunday in the Omani capital, Muscat, to discuss Tehran's response to the latest US proposal regarding its nuclear program. According to the American website Axios, citing a US official, "Iran has not yet responded to the US proposal, making it unlikely that the sixth round of negotiations will be held on the scheduled date." Since April 12, Iran and the United States have held five rounds of indirect negotiations mediated by the Sultanate of Oman, the last of which was on May 23. These negotiations began after US President Donald Trump sent a letter to Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei in March, proposing a new agreement on Tehran's nuclear program and threatening to use military force if the diplomatic track failed. Tehran rejected direct dialogue but agreed to indirect negotiations. Whatsapp Telegram Email Print
