Social Affairs minister hails Yemeni workers' national steadiness, stances
Sana'a - Saba:
The Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Samir Bajaala, praised the patriotic stances of Yemeni workers in confronting the aggression and their decision to cancel the celebration of their international day, May 1, in solidarity with Gaza, whose residents are being killed and displaced.
In a statement to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), Minister Bajaala praised the keenness and support of the Leader of the Revolution, Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, and the President of the Supreme Political Council, His Excellency Field Marshal Mahdi al-Mashat, for all the issues and rights of male and female workers, who have persevered in workplaces and production sites throughout the years of aggression and siege.
He pointed out that Yemeni workers have foiled the gamble of the aggression's masters and their henchmen on disrupting the field of work by their defiance and presence in their service barracks, proud of their martyred colleagues in the face of the arrogance of the American-Zionist aggression, and of their fellow workers who work with some international organizations operating in our country, ignoring the tactics of intimidation and enticement practiced by these organizations in their attempts to subjugate them and threaten them with dismissal from their jobs, in service of agendas that serve the goals of the aggression.
Minister Bajaala pointed out that the Yemeni workers' announcement of the cancellation of their international holiday, which falls today, May 1, is not due to a lack of resources, but rather to highlight the richness of their values and morals, raising the slogan: "How can we celebrate when our brothers and sisters are being killed in Gaza and the West Bank in full view of the world?"
He said, "It is true that we were surprised by their request to cancel the celebration, but this is not surprising for the Yemeni Workers Union, with its leadership, pioneers, and members, who deserve our kisses, each and every one, for they are today the bearers of history, in a time that has become historyless."
The Minister of Social Affairs reiterated the Ministry's condemnation and its affiliated units, the Disabled Care and Rehabilitation Fund, the Social Welfare Fund, and civil society organizations, of all the crimes committed by the American aggression against Yemen, which have resulted in the deaths of innocent citizens and workers, the latest of which was the targeting of Ras Issa Port in Hodeida, the Farwa Market in the capital, the ceramics factory in Bani Matar in Sana'a Governorate, and other massacres that are shocking to humanity.

Yemen : Houthis Launch Arrest Campaign in Sana'a over Use of "Starlink" Internet
Sana'a – June 11, 2025 The Houthi group has carried out a wave of arrests targeting dozens of civilians in the Yemeni capital, Sana'a, over the use of "Starlink" satellite internet devices, according to local human rights sources. Reports indicate that at least 54 people, including electronics shop owners, university students, and academics, were detained during raids across several districts such as Al-Sabeen, Ma'een, and Azal. The campaign also involved extensive searches and seizures of electronic equipment and the imposition of hefty fines on citizens. A human rights activist in Sana'a—speaking on condition of anonymity—stated that 'the Houthis aim to fully monopolize the communications sector and suppress any means of accessing the internet beyond their control.' In a controversial move, students and professors at the Faculty of Computer Science at Sana'a University were forced to attend events warning against the 'dangers of satellite internet,' a step that observers say violates academic freedom and amounts to a form of censorship. International and local human rights organizations have called for the immediate release of the detainees and the end of what they've described as a 'repressive campaign,' labeling the measures a blatant violation of human rights and freedom of expression. It's worth noting that satellite internet services like "Starlink" have gained popularity in regions suffering from poor connectivity or monopolized internet access, offering a vital lifeline for residents to stay connected with the outside world.

President congratulates Russian counterpart
Sana'a - Saba: President of the Supreme Political Council Mahdi al-Mashat on Wednesday sent a congratulatory cable to President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin on the occasion of the friendly Russian people's celebration of Sovereignty Day. The cable read: As your friendly people celebrate Sovereignty Day, I am pleased to extend to Your Excellency my warmest congratulations, along with my cordial wishes for good health, happiness, and further development for your friendly country. As your friendly people celebrate Sovereignty Day, it gives me great pleasure to extend to Your Excellency my warmest congratulations, along with my sincere wishes for your continued health and happiness, and for further growth and prosperity for your friendly country. The Russian role is highly regarded and relied upon in restoring global balance and curbing the blind imperialism that seeks to dominate the sovereignty of nations and interfere in their internal affairs to control the wealth of peoples. We hope that Russia's future role will further promote global peace and stability for all societies and nations—foremost among them the Palestinian cause, as the Palestinian people face genocide at the hands of the brutal Zionist machine, under the cover of American imperialism. Such actions stand in stark violation of all international covenants and agreements. We would like to take this opportunity to reaffirm our country's keenness to deepen the bonds of friendship with your nation in all fields, in a manner that enhances both regional and international security and stability.
