Ontario Provincial Police responded to multiple calls about an erratic driver heading eastbound on Highway 17 near Three Finger Lake on Aug. 4 shortly before 11:30 a.m. Officers located the vehicle and attempted a traffic stop, but the driver allegedly left the highway and entered a forested area, using ATV trails in an attempt to evade police. The suspect was apprehended shortly afterwards when he exited the trails. Additional charges include drug trafficking, three counts of drug possession, two possession of property obtained by crime offences, driving with cannabis readily available and operating a motor vehicle with a speed measurement warning device along with failing to comply with a release order and disobeying a court order. Construction site fire in Langley, B.C., shuts nearby roads

Langley RCMP are asking people to avoid the area of 201 Street and Fraser Highway on Sunday morning after a large fire at a construction site. Police say they were called out just before 4:15 a.m. PT to the construction site in the suburban Metro Vancouver community. Pictures from the scene show a large blaze at the site of a building under construction. Police say neighbouring residential buildings were evacuated as a precaution. No one was injured in the fire, according to police, but they say roads are closed nearby on Sunday morning. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation, according to police. They're asking anyone with more information, including dashcam footage, to call them and quote file number 2025-26994.
